Great location and property; and the field for short dog walks brilliant!

The lodge was only let down by the absolute minimum provided e.g. 1/4 inch of hand soap for 3 people for the week - no washing up bowl - no toilet brush - glasses all different shapes and sizes - no instructions left e.g. for rubbish disposal.- Good quality towels but only two bath sheets when 3 adults booked? We could survive overnight on the bottle of wine left ! (thankyou) but a pint of milk and some salt and pepper would be helpful. These comments are only made to help - we had a very good time Thankyou

We had a really lovely stay here with our two young children.

The lodge was warm, comfortable and clean and we felt right at home. We enjoyed the garden with its great views and the proximity to lots of good days out with kids. We loved the local bakery in the village, The Running Fox which sold delicious cakes. Our only feedback would be maybe bigger pans and more chopping boards. Thank you for a lovely stay!

A lovely, cosy, well appointed lodge in a super location.

The added bonus of the huge dog exercise paddock was much appreciated by our rescue dog. Hosts were helpful and friendly and we will definitely be back.

The cabin was perfect for us and our four furry friends - plenty of space to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings. The dogs loved exploring the coastline, and we loved watching them

Beautiful setting and building, the inside deserved a bit more imagination nice local pictures on the walls,coasters on the coffee table, sensible glasses.

Information regarding heating, rubbish disposal. Whilst we were there maintenance on overhead wires meant electricity was off 9-4. On the Thursday,which disrupted the Alarm which then was flashing inside overnight, would have appreciated Host checking all was ok.

A wonderful cabin with great views, spotlessly clean as ever with great disability access and garden for dogs, everything needed for a great stay, could have done with a mirror in twin bedroom this was our fourth visit and will be back for sure Kath

Lovely property to stay at.

Would recommend pinning on Google Maps the location as the sat nav stops at the caravan site nearby. Views are gorgeous from the back garden and very peaceful on an evening. Major facilities are good to use. Only complaints I could have are that the bed mattress is too soft and the bed frame squeaky. Felt like was falling out of bed and frame was squeaky when turning over in the night. Other than that it was a great stay and would use again. Would recommend The Village Inn pub in the village that does lovely homemade food.

We have stayed in a few lodges etc, Wansbeck was very clean and the nicest one we been in.

This is a really lovely property set in beautiful rolling countryside.

Nicely decorated, comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen. Owners very discreet. Garden was secure for our dog and having the secure field next door was a great bonus. The weather was kind to us during our stay. We visited most of the beaches along the coastline. We hope to return.

The property is well situated, spotless and very well maintained. Our children and dog loved the garden and having access to the field for walks. The scenery is breathtaking and we were spoiled with the weather. We will hopefully be back soon as this was our third visit and we wouldn't go anywhere else now!

Village us lovely even gas special fuels for dogs to roam in, shop, pubs. Granny inn delivered twice. Only thing mirror needed in twin room and a loo brush (I know not nice things)

All as described. Good shower comfortable seating and bed. Good location for dog walks and easy access to the amenities in the area whilst a lovely scenic quiet spot. We would highly recommend and will return again I am sure. Very clean and everything to hand that you need. We had a great holiday - thank you.

Beautiful lodge in amazing grounds and surroundings, perfect for families, our little yorkie loved the freedom, and a fab field to walk round right next to the cottage.

Lovely fenced off garden, very secure. The lodge has everything needed for a self cater holiday, spotlessly clean. Could do wit a blind in bathroom window for privacy maybe. But it’s ok as glass is frosted. Shower and bathroom great. Beds very comfy too and loads of storage room. A great base to visit all surrounding areas. Amazing village amenities just a short walk to get too, pubs, bakery, corner shop, butchers. All in all a lovely quiet location, beautiful views from the lodge, we will definitely be visiting again, Thank you for a lovely stay.

Absolutely fantastic.

Smelled beautiful and everything sparkling .. very good selection of crockery and everything you needed. only suggestion give better directions Sat nav takes you to the mobile home park at top of lane we only found it by a dog walkers help !!

Property was perfect, plenty of space, good facilities and very clean.

The enclosed garden and the exercise field were perfect for our dogs. The bottle of wine was also a nice touch. We would definitely return and recommend to others, a great holiday.

The property lay out has been very well thought out. We will be back at some point for further holidays here. Just one small disappointment, the mattress was too soft for my liking. Had an amazing week.

Accommodation was excellent. Lovely and clean, beautiful safe grassed area if you have dogs or small children. Views from outside seating area are beautiful. The Kitchen has everything you need plus some. Owner was brilliant I got the key stuck in the key safe he came over straight away and got it fixed. Highly recommend this holiday let. Only one little thing and we fixed it with a towel. The bathroom window doesn't have a blind. It faces nextdoor, with light on I presume they would be able to see in?? It's was easy fix .

This is a fantastic property.

Cosy, comfortable and a great base for exploring Northumberland, which we certainly did! There is a wonderful village cafe cum food shop. I must have put on a stone in our time there! A bonus for our dogs was the enclosed garden and a paddock at the side. We were also lucky to have half decent weather for our weeks stay which helped. In fact we have booked again for later in 2024. No better recommendation!

We all had a fantastic week and we loved the surroundings we would loved to have stayed longer wildlife is great.

This is a spacious, light and airy property with beautuful views.

It is in a good location with easy access to both the countryside and the coast. For anyone with a pet it has a secure garden and dogs are allowed into many places nearby and on the beaches. We had a lovely time, despite the weather, and hope to come again next year.

What a lovely lodge!

Very comfy clean and roomy. The enclosed lawned garden was great for our dog and the meadow at the side of the lodge was an added bonus for off lead fun. Beautiful views, clean air and a peaceful setting. We have already rebooked to visit this place again later in the year, which l think says it all. 10 out of 10.

We had a wonderful time and loved the property.

The cottage was pretty much perfect, comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The position was great with stunning views out of the front and only a short walk in to the village for supplies and the pub. The only thing was we found the mattress in the master bed too soft for us, but we would definitely recommend.

A relaxing week at this lodge in a peaceful country setting.

The lodge was warm and the beds were very comfortable. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and met new friends on his walk down the lane. The lodge was very clean and we had everything we needed. We hope to come back here in the future.

we have been here for a week and i can honestly say the best we have stopped in ,so spacious and everything you need ,washer dryer , dishwasher , secure garden for dogs in certain cabins ,there was a lovely bottle of wine as a welcome ,,, and the views are stunning .

... this place is so quiet we came to avoid the fireworks with the dogs and it was silent ..... We will definitely return to this place ..

Spotless inside and out windows cleaned and walkways pressure washed so they weren't slippery well-maintained site.

Perhaps a flash mop as dogs sometimes have an accident.

This is not negative feedback, but just our opinion the two chairs for us were not the most comfortable to relax on.

The shower screen doors need a little TLC as they were difficult to open and close and came off the runners a few times. But apart from those minor issues a great lodge and first class holiday. The private field next to the lodge was a bonus to walk the dog, she loved it. Thank you to the owners and Sykes.

Lovely week away with our 2 grandsons and our dog.

Lodge had everything needed - good enclosed garden area, parking for the car etc. We love Longframlington - such a friendly little village with a lovely play park, a welcoming village inn who do great food and a butcher and little shop to keep you going until you can get to Morpeth for bigger shops. This was our 2nd visit and we weren’t disappointed.

Once again had a great week in Wansbeck.

We had a lovely stay.

The accommodation was as advertised and very nice. The site / farm was a very nice setting, with lovely views and was very quiet and rural. It was also close enough to the local village to walk to the local stores and pub if needed. Also well positioned to reach many of the local places of interest; such as Hadrian's wall, Holy island and Bamburgh Castle etc.

Had a fabulous stay, and hopefully will return next year sometime.

The chalet was very comfortable, everything you could wish for! The view was lovely and great to be able to sit outside admiring the scenery!

Had a great time in your cabin, the only fault I would say was, give a choice of duvet.

The one on the bed was far too thick. A small point the guttering joint by the door is leaking.

The cottage was something else! The views were amazing. The owners are two of the nicest people! We did an in depth tour of the cottage on mooses on the move on youtube. Thanks for having us and we will be back next year!

It is the perfect location for dog lovers. Our golden retriever had such an amazing time, especially the enclosed field. So close to beautiful locations such as Alnwick & Bamburgh. We will 100% be returning.

Nice peaceful property Loved that there was no clutter Double bed too soft & squeaks a lot Furniture cheap, settee uncomfortable Not enough pots/cutlery so had to keep washing up/putting dishwasher on Flags outside leading to main access need pressure washing as a hazard, I slipped & fell over

Lovely location and so lovely and quiet - allowing use of the field was a huge bonus. It meant the kids could walk the dog safely and gave us morning off. Have recommended the cottage to family for next year too and we hope to be back.

Super comfy king size bed, huge wardrobe spaces, fully fitted kitchen, awesome shower! Ultra dog safe garden with a bonus of a secure field too. The area is fabulous and there's easy access to the coast. Would definitely recommend a stay here and I think we'll be back too!

Very spacious holiday cottage in very quiet surroundings!

On arrival the property was lovely and warm and the bottle of wine was a nice welcome indeed.

Very clean, quiet and in an excellent location to tour the Northumbrian coast. A really relaxing and interesting holiday. We will definitely book again.

. I’ve already booked another week in April. This place is so peaceful, quiet and helps someone like me have a stress free well needed break with my children. I love this place and so glad that I found it. The beds are so comfortable and having the washing machine in there makes a hell of a difference! Fantastic place. See you again soon

Everything would have been five star but for lack of matching plates/glasses at the property.

We had friends over for a meal and found it annoying because of this. It did not spoil our holiday enjoyment however and we would return but would suggest that this matter could be easily remedied.

Only comment would be more mugs please.

Very dog friendly

This is our second visit to Holme Cottages.

The enclosed garden area and the field next door were perfect for our Springer. Lots of space to run around and socialise with dogs staying in the other properties. The dog friendly beaches in the area are wonderful. Wansbeck is spacious and we loved being able to relax outside with the stunning view. The village has good amenities and everyone was so friendly.

Spotlessly clean great location very quiet and peaceful just what was needed

the facilities were basic, we had stayed at the same lodge last Sept and made excuses for some of the facilities but not twice.

There was only one loo roll for two persons for a week, there were no pot lids for the pots, the cutlery was poor and very basic. There was no coffee percolator. The plates were bare minimum. Little things maybe but not expected in a Sykes approved cottage. The next door people had the same complaints. The lodge was clean, the comfort was great and the little South facing garden ideal for a dog or barbecue or sitting out with a glass of wine enjoying the weather. Time for the owners to step up!

The location was exactly as we dreamt it would be .

Spacious accommodation that was perfect for us and our two dogs . Friendly welcome and assistance from the owners. Would recommend staying here for anyone visiting Northumberland.

we where lucky enough to have five days of sunny weather which gave full appreciation. The property was well equiped and cleaned to good standard. the patio garden area is fully enclosed providing a safe environment for our two dogs. we had access to large field next to property to walk dogs which was very much appreciated. I would fully reccomend this property to anyone who appreciates the beauty of the countryside and the natural environment.

On our return I was offered a £40 discount on our next booking but so far you have declined to honour it.

Was everything we needed peace and quiet couldn’t of asked for a better place to stay Will definitely be rebooking in the future

A much needed break from the situation with Covid and we were lucky with the weather.

We know the area well but did not venture too far due to the enormous amount of people at all our favourite locations - never seen it like that before over many years - cars parked on verges etc partly blocking roads - folk camping in tents, caravans and mobile homes at Druridge Bay - we did not stay long. Not surprised that Covid cases are on the increase in the area. However our holiday was great and will certainly be back.

Stunning scenery and 30 minute drive to beach. The Running Fox is a great little cafe in The village of Longframlington, excellent breakfasts. Would definitely return.

Lovely place to use as a base to explore Northumberland the cottage its self has nearly everything you need it would benefit from having a mop for the floors as when we were there it rained none stop

This was our second stay at the property and we enjoyed it very much.

Great rural location and quiet,when you live in a city it's nice to have that stillness. The property was immaculately clean on arrival, kitchen utensils were provided. There was a bottle of wine on arrival. Everything worked as it should pretty much,except TV you had to manually switch on/off. My mother found the the settees being too low off the ground which caused discomfort. I'd suggest for a singular armchair to be provides with a high back and supporting arms. It would help people with mobility issues. It was a fantastic stay and pleasant experience.

The Lodge was clean & tidy.

Bright & welcoming and the enclosed garden was a bonus. Agree with other reviews the settees were not the comfiest which did spoil our relaxing evenings to be honest. The views were spectacular and was lovely waking up to the many birds fluttering. Overall a clean bright lodge and would recommend.

We had a brilliant holiday in this lodge, it has everything you could possibly need, they need to advertise that the garden is enclosed- as this was a worry for us with children and dogs, but we didn’t need to it was brilliant and probably the best lodge with garden they rented out.

Brilliant washing machine, dishwasher they even provided a bottle of wine, tea, coffee and sugar, hand wash. Only slight niggle was the squeaky cutlery draw!!!! But that’s easily fixed. It just drives you mad after a few days.

Beautifull and comfort cottage and a amazing vieuw

The cottage was excellent in every way and we couldn't have asked for more.

The location was excellent - very quiet with wonderful views and within easy reach of all the places we wanted to visit. We had excellent neighbours who also had dogs with them. Our only slight quibbles would normally have been handled by speaking to the owner &/or filling in a log book before we left but their absence were two of the quibbles. We didn't really have any urgent need to speak to the owner but did try to call a couple of times and just reached voicemail on each of them. It would have been nice to have been able to thank them in person & to leave feedback for the next occupants.

As this was our second visit to Wansbeck we knew what to expect.

The views from the property are stunning.

The only real problem was the all to common one that the owners had purchased the sofas without ever sitting in them , my wife and I are elderly ( 84 and 78 and therefor below average height by today,s standards and all to often we find it impossible to sit comfortably in the furniture.

Would it be at all possible to mention this point to the owners of cottages. Having said that , the owner of this property was most helpful and obliging and the village where it was located was delightful Would it be possible to include information as to the suitability for older visitors in your cottage details ? This is the third time we have stayed in lodge style accommodation and have to say this stay was the best of the three.

I am guessing the lodge is fairly new which likely gives it an advantage but everything was great, the size, the facilities in the lodge, the location, the views, etc. all were great and if we were exploring this part of Northumberland again we would definitely stay there. Only one minor gripe was that the lodge has a security alarm fitted which is great when you leave the property whilst exploring but at night the PIR in the bedrooms trigger at the slightest movement which lights up the bedrooms for a few seconds. Not a lot that they can do about this other than put the alarms on the bedroom windows rather than having PIR in the bedrooms. If you want exact locations for the lodge as it is not on the main road here are the SatNav co-ordinates 55°17'40.0"N 1°48'10.3"W or 55.294431, -1.802860. Per the hosts' directions, better to drive into Longframlington village and turn left onto Rothbury Road and then turn left into Villa Lane (off Rothbury Road) especially if coming from a southerly direction.

Lovely welcoming cottage where we (2 adults and 2 children under 4) stayed.

Good facilities and great location. Benefits of lovely country setting, short distance to village where there was a lovely play park. Great for access to Morpeth and A1. Only slight problem finding place as we arrived in dark and felt directions could be a little better.

Beautiful views of the countryside, cottage was cosy and warm, equipped with everything you require for a relaxing weeks’ holiday, great central location for visiting all of Northumberland’s gems.

The lodge was amazing we were very impressed when we arrived, very well set out with everything you need for a perfect stay just as discribed and very well presented.

Beautiful surroundings great views its a very peaceful place. The lodge has its own very well kept enclosed garden great for a dog to run around in. Wonderful large bathroom with a separate bath and large shower the only thing to let it down was the ill fitting toilet seat that moved when you sat on it quite scary when your not expecting it. Loved the open plan living dinning and kitchen area. I would suggest new sofas though as they are very low and felt like i was sitting on the floor not very comfortable at all. Fantastic place in a fantastic area very central to all places, we would defiantly book again.

A lovely property spacious and in a great position.

Greeted with a bottle of wine, pity that there was only one tea cloth for the week, half a toilet roll, no salt and pepper, the windows in need of a clean. Plenty of towels in the bathroom but rock hard from drying outdoors. A heavy duvet made even hotter as they were covered in flannelette covers. The television had the habit of turning itself on, disconcerting when you returned from an outing to find it on. Having said all that we had a wonderful holiday in Northumberland one we will never forget.

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage.

It's a new cottage with a good finish. Gorgeous views. The private enclosed garden was perfect for being able to let the dogs run around. It is very close to some sheep though, so take care if your dogs like ours, would love a chase with them! The only reason why I marked it down is that the curtains are so thin, we were awake at the crack of dawn each day! So if you are susceptible to being waken by the sun, take an eye mask.

Fabulous lodge beautiful views and the garden was great for the dog.

I am light sensitive so found the lights a bit much would have preferred a side lamp and the duvet wasn’t big enough for the bed but 10 out of 10.

Wansbeck is one of two brand new holiday lodges.

It is situated down a quiet country lane with super views across the fields and hills. Fantastic sunsets! Very handy for some great walks in the Cheviots as well as the beach. The owner was very friendly without being intrusive. All equipment inside the lodge was of a very high standard and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Wifi was excellent too. The lawned garden is safely enclosed for children. We loved staying here and would undoubtedly book again.
