Beautiful property in a picturesque setting.

The site was exceptionally well maintained and quiet. The property had a stunning view over the pond with visiting wildlife. The location of the property in Northumberland is excellent for visiting the stunning beaches, local towns, and Lindisfarne. The lodge was very clean and the beds were super comfy! We had a great stay and we would highly recommend.

There was a very generous welcome pack, for both us and our dogs!

The kitchen was very well-equipped. A lot of thought had gone in to the interior colourful design, which we loved. Plenty of crockery cutlery and utensils to make using the dishwasher useful! The plot was in a great position, not overlooked any where, and the large, spacious, dog secure verandah was great, with good furniture. We would highly recommend Oak one to anyone.

This was a really lovely property with everything you needed for a home from home stay.

The welcome basket was a lovely touch. Very handy for visiting the Northumberland coast. Would definitely use again and recommend to friends.

Accommodation suited our needs perfectly.

Did not feel cramped with 6 adults. Lovely comfy beds. Definitely value for money in a quiet setting which faced onto a small lake. Would recommend to others. Just some pointers for the owners. Lights above the beds in the waterfall room did not appear to work, but didn't really bother us. Couldn't get the shower to work in the shower/toilet room by the entrance, but again we managed with the one shower. Perhaps we were just doing something wrong but might be worth checking then out. We didn't feel the need to contact the owner about either of these things and it didn't impact our stay in any way.

Lodge was very nice .

Good location good well equipped lodge. My only - would be heating went off quickly and lodge got cold quickly. We had to go round putting radiators on all the time to keep the rooms warm. There was condensation on all bedroom windows in morning as heating wasn’t on through night. Which is fine through the summer but not great when it’s end of October. And weather is cold at night. The vac smelt really bad too. Maybe time to clean it out

Great property the owners have thought of everything, very comfortable beds,great master shower its in a great location if you want to explorethe Northumberland coast if you are looking for holiday park with lots of this to do then this isn't the park for you ,my only criticism of my stays isvthat the park has no lighting at night so you need a pair of night vision googles if you want to go outdoors, i would definitely recommend a stay

Oaks One had everything we could have wished for and was in an excellent position for visiting Nortumberland.

This was a beautiful decorated and prepared lodge in an ideal setting in the park.

Every home comfort was there and the lodge was very well stocked with everything you needed for your stay. Excellent cooking utensils, crockery, cleaning stuff and all lined you needed. The owner had left a lovely welcome gift and that was fresh bread and milk in the fridge to accompany the supply of coffee and tea. The owner phoned to explained few things and recommended many places to go which was ideal . This was a great place to explore Northumbria and a fantastic place to stay for all the family. I would highly recommend Oaks 1

Everything you would need for a stay.

The most well equipped place we have stayed. No need to take the usual bits from home. Everything you need provided and welcome pack provides milk, bread, coffee, tea, butter etc days. Comfortable beds. Peaceful surroundings. Lovely deck area to sit and look over pond. Surrounding area is great, pubs with good food. Not far from coast. All in all an excellent place to stay.

The Lodge was lovely and well equipped.

We especially loved the veranda/balcony which, in spite of being in fairly close proximity to other holiday lodges, was like a little oasis. It overlooked a pond and was surrounded by mature trees, shrubs and frequented by lots of wildlife. The 0 score on recommendation is not a reflection on the lodge but of Sykes poor customer service for causing us 3 days of stress, telling us they could not find our booking, even as we were on our way to the property.

We had a fantastic holiday at Oaks One.

The lodge was beautifully decorated with everything you could need for a self catering holiday. The welcome goodies for our dog and us were a very thoughtful touch and much appreciated. Also, the owner called and offered some great advice on places to visit. The situation on the park was, in my opinion, the best, lovely and peaceful with a great view of the pond, my grandchildren loved watching the ducks. Our dog loved the walks in the woods and the enclosed dog exercise area. We visited Alnwick gardens, Alnmouth, Warkworth and Bamburgh beaches, Amble on market day and Druridge Country Park. We also had a delicious lunch at the Cook abd Barker Inn and breakfast on our last day at Nelsons on the Park, both dog friendly. We all had a fabulous holiday and going back to relax at Oaks One just made it better. Credit to the owners for their fabulous lodge, but was first class. We will definitely return.

We had the most wonderful week at Oaks One.

The Lodge was equipped with everything you could possibly need and perfectly situated for exploring the beautiful surrounding area. The local pubs no more than 10 minutes away were fantastic! The owner called and gave us recommendations and also kindly set the heating to come on to suit our kids early waking. The beds were sooooo comfortable! All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to book to stay again!

Oaks One is an absolutely gorgeous holiday home.

Located on the amazing Percy Wood park, which has an abundance of wildlife and walks, you wont regret booking this lodge. The beds are very comfortable, the decking is brilliant for dogs and the kitchen/living area is spacious enough that you don't feel cramped. The kitchen is well equipped, as is the rest of the lodge. The owners left loads of thoughtful welcome gifts for the human and doggy guests. The owner rings you to check that you have settled in well and provides loads of good advice about places to visit, parking and activities. This is my third visit to Percy Wood and this lodge is by far the best one that I have stayed in, the location is really lovely, next to a pond. We will definitely be booking again. What a gem.

Set in a prime location

A fabulous, relaxing family get-together that was enhanced by the many home comforts provided in this accommodation.

The owner has thought of everything, so it's set up for a hassle-free stay. Thanks so much for that. We were very fortunate to have good weather for a late October stay, so were able to enjoy sitting outside on the decking, taking in the autumn colours and sounds while facing the pond. We thought this lodge was probably on the best part of the site, even though it was quite close to Reception. It was very quiet and well-spaced from other units, giving a reasonable degree of privacy. We already knew the area well, so finding our favourite eateries and pursuits was easy, as this place is great for both the coast and countryside in Northumberland. The only very minor disappointment was that the on-site pub/restaurant (a 15mins walk away), is only open on certain days at this time of the year. This wasn't an issue, though, because there are plenty of other excellent places to eat out a short drive away. We hope to return soon and highly recommend Oaks One to everyone. Angela October 2024

We had a lovely stay in Oaks One.

Very comfortable bed and all that we could need for our stay. The enclosed veranda proved popular with our puppy for her morning meander !! We would not hesitate to book here again in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at oaks one couldn't believe how well stocked with everything you could need to prepare our meals.

The best of all was how wonderfully comfortable our bed was mattress was best I've slept

Very well equipped property and fabulous location within the park.

Very comfortable bed and rooms a good size. Kitchen well stocked with a variety of equipment for everyday cooking. Lovely dining table and to have a teapot was a real delight.

Excellent lodge and attention to detail was great everything we needed and more, would recommend and looking forward to returning, lovely and quiet, great dog walks, easy access to places in and around Northumberland.

What can I say the lodge is everything and more , there was everything you needed and more .

The beds were soo comfortable and a good night sleep every night. The lodge is situated not far from the entrance of the Percy Wood Park looking over the pond but it was soon quiet. We walked straight down the road to the right and thru the gates to the clubhouse where a nice meal and pint can be had. The park is ideal to be based at to go around the beautiful countryside and coast. The Cook & Barker pub in nearby village is definitely a must the meals are divine and all local produce. So I would definitely recommend and will be returning.

This property has everything you could possibly need.

The beds were comfortable, property clean, welcome pack, owner very helpful with suggestions where to visit and eat. The position of property perfect, very quiet and near playground for grandchildren. Hope to visit again.

We have had a really lovely week at Oaks One.

The property was really well equipped, with most of everything you could thing of in the kitchen especially! The living and sleeping areas were really comfortable and everywhere was very clean. The position of the property on the park was excellent as it’s very near the entrance, and away from a lot of the noise. We did however have a very noisy dog next door - which is no fault of the owners! The only thing I’d suggest is a little info pack on what’s expected at the end of the stay and where to find things - we had to find our way to the bins and had to message to find out what needed doing when we left. Bar that, everything was pretty much perfect! Thank you for a lovely stay - we were very sad to leave!

This lodge has everything you need.

The beds are the most comfortable we've ever slept in. So relaxing. Nothing beats sitting on the decking on a morning, drinking coffee and watching the ducks on the pond in lovely surroundings

Beautiful lodge perfect for a peaceful stay. The lodge is furnished with high quality fixtures and fittings and is situated on a lovely park close to all the top attractions Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Cragside, the coast etc. Enjoyed my morning coffee sat on the decking overlooking a small pond watching ducks, other birds and was lucky enough to see a deer close up. The lodge is in a lovely location within the park, from the decking you feel very secluded.

The owners have gone above and beyond to provide everything that you could possibly want or need. The decor is colourful and uplifting in the lounge/dining/kitchen. The only very small negative for me was the very weighty duvet on the double bed, I found this unpleasant and the pillows were either too hard or too soft! I couldn't find my ideal. Having said that I would happily enjoy a second holiday at Oaks 1.

Wonderful lodge accommodation, clean and well equipped.

The best equipped we've ever stayed in. We couldn't find fault at all. Comfy beds, welcome pack with dog treats etc. Welcome call from the very nice owner. Location is very peaceful and ideal for dogs. Location is also well placed near to the A1 in order to travel both North and South of Northumberland for all the attractions. The lodge is a credit to the owners.

This is our third time here.

This lodge is beautiful, with colourful furnishings and the most comfortable beds. It has everything you need. The lodge owner rings to give you advice on places to visit and leaves a gift package for you including essentials like bread, milk and butter. I could live here, and we will definately return.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Oaks One.

Beautiful site and the surrounding areas are breath taking. Lovely touch with the welcome pack and phone call. Bread and milk in the fridge ready for our stay. Well supplied with cleaning products and cooking equipment. Cant say much more than fantastic Thank you :)

Oaks One was a lovely holiday cottage within a beautiful park.

Very clean and tidy with everything that you could need for a warm, comfortable stay (especially appreciated the welcome bowl of goodies!!). Unfortunately we had an incident that happened with an elderly visitor but the owners were very quickly contacted and are dealing with the aftermath!! Would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone. Very ideally set within Northumberland to be able to get to all the lovely tourist places. One of the best places we have stayed in.

Lovely location and a lovely spot on the park, (Perfect bench for morning tea to relax and watch the wildlife).

Everything you could wish for is provided. Unfortunately it is let down as being a little tired, kitchen and lounge are nice and look quite recent, the rest of the accommodation needs a good sparkle, just a thorough clean, couple of bathroom blinds together with a lick of paint and it’s done, outside needs an overall clean up, deck stain, glass veranda and that’s sorted, if we thought that these points had been addressed then we would return, trouble is there’s so many and standards have to be an absolute 9 really, I’d give this a 7 as it stood, like I say, not much really to up it!! The directions to the property are a total nonsense.

You need to rewrite these so that future holiday makers can find the site without travelling to all four points of the compass. The property was very well equipped but lacked a local information folder with recommendations and directions.

The property was fantastic!

Very comfortable, well equipped and some added little treats were provided, which was lovely. Beautiful setting, very quiet and peaceful. We had 2 ten year old children who thoroughly enjoyed it too and felt the property was “just like a home”.

Great decor and kitchen equipment everything we needed for the weeks holiday. Ducks were nice to sit and watch weather permitting!! Lovley quite site with great walks around the park and woodland. beds were really comfy didn't want to leave them!! Plenty of places to visit not far away from beach to county side and castles and gardens. Would love to return another time!!

Oaks 1 is a comfortable, spacious and very well equipped lodge, and it is a perfect base for exploring Northumberland.

The site is quiet and there are lots of good dog walks straight from the door. The phone call from the owner was very helpful and the welcome pack was well received!

This is one of the loveliest lodges we have stayed in.

Beautifully furnished. The owner gives a welcome call and advice for the area which was nice. There was also a lovely welcome pack including essentials you may forget. We have what we call our "lodge box" where we keep essentials like spare toilet roll, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and sponges etc and we didn't need it at all as everything was thought of in the lodge. I didn't want to leave

I have stayed here before and enjoyed my holiday.

It was just as good this time. There has been alot of thought and effort put in by the owner with very comfortable beds, a kitchen-with everything you could possibly need and extra touches with the Welcome pack for the people AND the dog! The furniture, equipment and furnishings are very good quality. Beyond anyone's control was the weather, but it was November and it rained and rained. Staying in was a relaxing time in a cosy place that has recharged our batteries. Thankyou

very comfortable and we all thought the property was in the best position compared with other properties. The owner was very welcoming and lovely to chat to with some excellent suggestions of where to and what to see, very knowledgeable of the area. So much to see and do in the area close by. we all feel we would highly recommend the accommodation/property for a wonderful stay in the area.

This was our second stay at Oaks One and it certainly won’t be out last.

We love the comfort and quirkiness of the interior that really makes it stand out from other lodges. The owners David and Carolyn have thought of absolutely everything you could possibly need and are readily on hand if you need them. The lodge is clean and comfortable for the whole family and we particularly enjoy the decking overlooking the pond. Having walked the whole site numerous times with our dogs, this is the best spot by miles!! It is a real home from home and we are already looking forward to booking a third stay here. Oaks1 was a great place to stay.

The lodge was exellent and well situated with a small pond with ducks just in front of the deck,which was a lovely place to sit after a good day visiting Northumberlands gems.We visited at Easter and there was a free BBQ and a singer/guitarist providing entertainment.Free golf and a vast forrest to explore.Plus an icecream van that came every night.

Charm and character of a Swiss alp cottage yet the facilities inside thought of every need, including a big family with multiple charging requirements for iPhone, IPad and laptops.

Owner was very helpful when we arrived providing a guided tour of Oaks one.

As a nurse going on a much needed break/rest with 2 colleagues, this was everything we needed.

Oaks One was the best of the best. The Lodge was spotless, beautifully "laid out" with high quality fixtures and fittings. The Welcome pack was the best and most thoughtful one I've seen in nearly 40 years of taking self catering holidays with my own family. We'd brought our colleagues dog, even he got a Welcome pack too!! The enclosed verandah meant we and him were relaxing together. The location was idyllic, surrounded by well kept grounds and "nature" at your door. It was relaxing watching the birds, ducks and moorhens on the pond, and visiting toads and frogs in glorious sunshine from the verandah. Extra special was visiting Roe deer on a 05.30hr early rising!! The owner telephoned to check we were happy and to help with anything. He made us feel so welcome. We will be booking again, as soon as time and off-duties allow. Thankyou

Very comfortable and trendy.

Probably the best equipped property we have had. can`t think of anything lacking. The bed too is the most comfortable we have had. We explored the park and concluded Oaks One has the best site on the park but the park itself was disappointing. If i was paying £4,000 a year ground rent I would want far more facilities. Nelson`s is excellent but a least 2 miles away. But for anyone who is happy to go out and about for their entertainment i would highly recommend this lodge.

Beautiful Log Cabin, very well presented and comfortable, everything you need and more and a lovely welcome basket too.

Excellent location on site (veranda overlooking duck pond) and for exploring the local area. Owner rang to make sure everything was ok and to ask if we needed any information on places to visit, eat out etc, a very nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Oaks one and look forward to coming back in the future.

One of the best cottages we’ve stayed in.

Beautiful location and easy access to many local beaches, nature reserves and villages. Very comfortable, well equipped, amazing welcome pack and friendly helpful owners.

Lovely lodge in a fabulous location.

Only slight niggle is not being able to control the heating. This was obviously set on a timer and a specific temperature but we would have preferred to have access to control this to our requirements.

A truly lovely weekend celebrating my Fathers 70th birthday at Oaks One.

It’s so beautifully decorated, with quality fixtures and furnishings, there is simply nothing else we could have wanted or needed. As a family of 6 with two small dogs, there was plenty of space for us all. We would love to return in the summer to enjoy the decking overlooking the pond. A really fantastic lodge and a really helpful owner. Thank you again, we can’t wait to return.

On arrival at our accommodation we were delighted to find how well presented the property was, and how extremely well equipped it was, there was absolutely everything you needed.

The heating was on and all the beds made up, these beds were amazingly comfortable, it was obvious a great deal of money had been spent on the quality of the mattresses, something overlooked in some holiday properties. The whole cabin oozed luxury, we felt very comfortable aand at home for the 4 days we were there. It was a lovely touch when we got a call from David the owner to ask if everything was ok and to recommend some places to visit and places to eat in the area, which was extremely helpful. Percy Woods is a beautifully kept site with nice walks within, and a lovely golf course nearby, a tennis court, playpark. The magic for us was that Swarland is one of the Dark Sky areas of the Northumberland National Park, and on the morning of our departure at 5am whilst out with the dog, we were rewarded with an amazing sky. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone, it is a credit to the owner. We hope to make another visit sometime soon.

The cabin was excellent.

It was very comfortable and was very well equipped. We found a really nice pub/restaurant only 10 minutes away by car. Alnwick was 7 miles away and worth a visit. Plenty of other places worth a visit but we only had a short stay so will obviously have to return!

Photos made it look a lot bigger and more modern!! Had to clean upon arrival too! Rug covered in dog hair! Crumbs everywhere! Crockery dirty and cutlery! Used the hoover which stank of wet damp dog! Bathroom smelt damp!
