What guests are saying
This could be lovely accommodation, but needs a radical maintenance overhaul and some TLC.
First impression was no welcome pack in evidence to instruct on various aspects of the property, or finer details of the park and surrounding areas. The freezer was unusable as it was completely clogged with ice. We did contact the owners who sent an online version of the welcome pack and someone visited the following day to defrost the freezer. You are requested to ensure hot tub cover is on when not in use, this was half open on arrival as retaining straps and clips were either broken or not there. Hot tub itself was very enjoyable! 2 Burners on gas hob not working (new oven ordered) Mattress in main bedroom extremely uncomfortable on 1st night with springs sticking into you. This we discovered the next morning was due to it being upside down. We rectified this, but it was replaced later that day, presumably due to a previous comment regarding staining. The door between living area and bedrooms would not close due to a badly fitting threshold, the one on main bedroom door also came away. The window blinds need a thorough clean. No rack for grill pan, lack of containers to use in microwave. Decking at top aof steps insecure and feels like it will give way when stood on. The description of the park given online is somewhat misleading as it feels more of a residential park than a holiday park. The sports court referred to, is a badly rutted tarmac tennis court. What is worrying is that many of the faults have been mentioned previously but not addressed. In its current state it is not value for money.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback following your stay. I am sorry that aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. However, I do feel it is important to clarify some of the points raised, particularly the suggestion that previously reported issues were not being addressed. The mattress in the main bedroom had been mentioned by the previous guests. As soon as I became aware of the issue, I purchased a brand new mattress and personally installed during your stay, on the very same day the issue was identified. When you reported that the freezer required defrosting, I attended personally and carried out the work the following day to ensure it was fully usable. You also advised that the welcome pack was missing. This had been available in the lodge previously and appears to have been removed or disposed of accidentally by a previous guest. Once notified, I immediately sent a digital copy so you had access to all the information you needed. Following your comments regarding the hob, a replacement cooker has been ordered. We take all maintenance reports seriously and act on them as quickly as possible. During your stay I actively checked whether there was anything further I could do to improve your experience, and no additional concerns were raised at that time. While I appreciate your comments regarding the lack of a grill rack and microwave containers, the kitchen is generally very well equipped and stocked for guest use. The decking area at the top of the steps has already been scheduled for repair. Whilst it has previously been reported as creaking, it has not been identified as unsafe or unstable. I fully acknowledge that some maintenance and cosmetic improvements are required. Like many holiday accommodation owners, carrying out larger refurbishment works during a fully booked summer season can be challenging without cancelling guests' holidays, which is something we are keen to avoid. We have therefore set aside dedicated time in October to undertake a programme of repairs, improvements and general updates to the lodge. Whilst I am sorry that the lodge did not represent value for money in your opinion, I believe I responded promptly and proactively to the issues brought to my attention and did my best to ensure your holiday was not adversely affected. Thank you again for your feedback, which will help us continue improving the lodge for future guests.
We had a wonderful stay at Woodland View Lodge & definitely recommend staying there.
Would give it more stars if possible! The lodge was exceptionally clean & the hot tub was an added bonus, especially after all the walking we did. We also appreciated the bottle of Prosecco on arrival - a very nice touch & it was definitely enjoyed
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that you had such a great stay at Woodland View Lodge and that everything met your expectations. It's fantastic to know that you found the lodge exceptionally clean and were able to make the most of the hot tub after your walks. We love hearing that the little extras make a difference too, and we're pleased that the bottle of Prosecco was enjoyed and helped make your stay even more special. Thank you for taking the time to recommend us. Your kind words mean a great deal and make all the hard work worthwhile. We hope to welcome you back to Woodland View Lodge again in the future. Best wishes, Woodland View Lodge
Overall, the lodge is very tired/dated and the photos do not give the true picture - as other reviewers have commented.
Cleanliness: Poor with many long hairs found in one bed on pillow and sheets. Wife and daughter bought sleeping bags as did not want to get into the beds. My wife slept on the sofa - but dared not pull out the sofa bed. Is the main bed a small double? Stains on the mattress protector - although only discovered when we stripped the bed at the end of our stay. Decking, living room, cooker and frying pan not cleaned properly. Other issues: The top step coming onto the decking needs attention as it gives way under your feet and does not feel safe. The lodge door is difficult to close/lock - tip: try to do it softly - the continued slamming of the door has caused a crack in the window panel above the door - which definitely needs urgent attention. Patio door and shower door in the ensuite very hard to open/close. Shower in ensuite hard to turn on/off. Sofa cushions kept sliding out when sitting on (due to it being a sofa bed) Bedside tables very wobbly No welcome pack so no idea how to work the heating using the plug-in thermostat - which started beeping on day 4 so we unplugged it. (As we went in August this was not so much of an issue but instructions need to be provided for rest of year) More positive: The fridge issue has been sorted - although by wedging a poker game tin between the fridge and the worktop Prosecco was provided - although a small bottle of milk would also be a nice touch which is provided in other lodges we have stayed in View of golf course/woodland from the patio in beautiful and fantastic for the dog walks Hot tub well-maintained Location is excellent for superb days out. This area of Northumbria is a fantastic place for a holiday.
Dear Guest, I am genuinely sorry to hear that you did not have the experience we would have hoped for during your stay. As owners, we take great pride in our lodge and want every guest to enjoy a comfortable, relaxing and memorable holiday. I would like to address some of the points you have raised. Your comments regarding the cleanliness have been passed on to our cleaner, and I am particularly disappointed to hear that the lodge was not presented to the standard we expect. I really wish you had contacted us during your stay, as we would have been more than happy to arrange for the lodge to be thoroughly cleaned again, including changing the bedding if required. We take the cleanliness and condition of our linen very seriously. I have specifically instructed our cleaner that any bedding showing hairs or stains is to be removed and replaced, so it is upsetting to hear that this was not the standard you experienced. We also provide fresh, clean linen in the lodge, which you would have been welcome to use had we known there was an issue. With regard to the maintenance, I completely accept that there are areas which require attention. The top step has already been booked in for repair, and the lodge is scheduled to be fully redecorated in October. Unfortunately, during the peak season we have very limited gaps between bookings, and we would never want to cancel a guest in order to carry out decorating work. We are, however, actively working through the maintenance required. I can only apologise that your stay did not meet the standard we aim to provide. We genuinely wish you had reached out to us while you were at the lodge, as we would have done everything we could to put things right at the time and give you the holiday you deserved. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Although it is disappointing to hear that you were unhappy, we will take your comments seriously and use them to ensure the issues raised are addressed as quickly as possible.
A lot more dated than the pictures show, other than that a pleasant stay.
Property was very clean and facilities excellent especially the hot tub.
Site was in excellent location for exploring Northumbria as nothing was too far to travel. Bad point was we found the mattress a little hard and site could do with some TLC especially the gate. Overall we really enjoyed our visit and would recommend it to others visitors.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We're delighted to hear that you found the lodge very clean, enjoyed the facilities, and especially made the most of the hot tub. It's also great to know that the location worked so well for exploring Northumberland and all the fantastic attractions the area has to offer. We appreciate your feedback regarding the mattress and the entrance gate. Both have now been rectified, new mattresses and a new gate has been professionally installed. Guest feedback is invaluable in helping us improve, and these comments have been noted as part of our ongoing maintenance and improvement plans for the lodge. Thank you for recommending Woodland View Lodge to other visitors. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Woodland View Lodge
The site was beautiful and just what we were looking for.
The location was perfect for exploring the area. The lodge wasn't what we were expecting. You could tell at one point it would have been a beautiful modern lodge however it is in need of some serious maintenance and upgrades. Areas of the lodge felt very unclean from black mould in the shower, cobwebs and thick dust, food still in the microwave from previous guests. The mattresses were lumpy and didnt provide a restful sleep. Our welcome email said a bottle of fizz would be waiting for us but non provided - I never expect freebies but when you are told to look forward to something, you obviously do. It just felt lacking for the money we paid.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful setting of the park and found the location ideal for exploring Northumberland. It's also encouraging to know that the site was exactly what you were looking for. However, we're very sorry that aspects of the lodge did not meet your expectations. The standards of cleanliness you describe are certainly not what we aim to provide, and we apologise for the issues you encountered. Your comments have been taken on board and will be addressed with our cleaning team to ensure this does not happen again. We would also like to sincerely apologise for the missing bottle of Prosecco. This should have been provided as stated in your welcome information, and unfortunately it was overlooked by our cleaner prior to your arrival. We appreciate that while it is only a small gesture, guests understandably look forward to the welcome touches that are advertised, and we're sorry for the disappointment caused. Thank you also for your comments regarding the mattresses and the general condition of the lodge. We are currently carrying out a programme of maintenance and upgrades to improve the overall guest experience and appreciate constructive feedback that helps us identify where improvements are needed. We're sorry that the lodge did not fully live up to your expectations on this occasion, but we do appreciate your honest feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with a much-improved experience. Best wishes, Woodland View Lodge
Was ok looking a bit rough in places needs some tlc carpet rails dangerous kept tripping kitchen was fully stocked hot tub great step by gate was a bit loose and creaky.
beds were a bit uncomfortable at to bleach sink was not clean on arrival a great location nice view over golf course and country side and good location to travel to sites castles etc a well kept and clean site
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the fantastic location, the views over the golf course and countryside, and that you found the site itself to be clean and well maintained. It's also great to know that the kitchen was well stocked and that you enjoyed the hot tub during your stay. We appreciate your feedback regarding the areas that you felt could benefit from some TLC. The loose step by the gate has been noted and is included in our maintenance schedule. We will also review your comments regarding the carpet rails, as guest safety is always a priority. We're sorry to hear that you found the beds uncomfortable and that the sink was not cleaned to the standard you expected on arrival. This is not the level of cleanliness we aim to provide, and your comments will be passed on to our cleaning team. All mattresses have now been replaced so we hope they prove more comfortable. Thank you again for your honest feedback. We are continually investing in improvements to the lodge and value comments such as yours as they help us identify where we can do better. We're delighted that overall you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back to Woodland View Lodge in the future. Best wishes, Woodland View Lodge
Great stay as always every year, in a great peaceful location.
Thank you so much for your lovely review and for choosing to stay with us year after year. It means a great deal to welcome returning guests, and we're delighted that you continue to enjoy the lodge and its peaceful location. Knowing that you've chosen to come back time and time again is one of the biggest compliments we can receive. Thank you for your continued support and loyalty. We look forward to welcoming you back for many more relaxing stays at Woodland View Lodge in the future. Best wishes, Woodland View Lodge
Excellent lodge in a fabulous location overlooking the golf course.
A real home from home. We have stayed in various lodges and this was by far the best one. We had one slight issue which Alex the host sorted straight away. Definitely will be returning.
What a wonderful lodge and place to stay.
The owner Alex has thought of everything, and if you forget anything, there's probably spares there waiting for you. Set in a peaceful spot overlooking the golf course, we even saw deers one evening. Hot tub was a lovely addition and kept really clean. Can not fault Alex or the property and would definitely stay again.
Thank you so much for your fantastic review. We're absolutely delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that Woodland View Lodge was your favourite among the lodges you've visited. The location overlooking the golf course is something we love too, so it's wonderful to know you appreciated it. Creating a real "home from home" experience is exactly what we aim for, and your kind words mean a great deal to us. We're also pleased that the small issue you encountered was resolved quickly and that it didn't impact your stay. Thank you for choosing Woodland View Lodge, and we truly appreciate your lovely feedback. We can't wait to welcome you back for another relaxing stay in the future. Best wishes, Alex & Woodland View Lodge
I will start with the positives, nice lodge in a great location backing onto a golf course.
Everything you think you might need is provided in the lodge (apart from the fizz that was promised). There are a few slight issues, the top step needs fixing along with the gate but as I said, slight issues. The fridge is still dodgy in that if you just have items in the door, the fridge will fall out of the cupboard but as long as you fill the base of the fridge it will be ok. Beds and pillows are not comfy but these are personal issues and I suspect some people won't have any issues with them at all - plenty of spare pillows provided. Hot tub was great - bit of advice is always make sure that the strap is connected across the lid as it can get quite windy and if the lids lifts up on one side, it won't be a hot tub for long... The pub/club on site is a nice 10min walk and sells good beer and food and everyone is friendly. There is a ton of places in the surrounding areas to visit along with loads of nice local pubs to eat at. Overall it was a very nice relaxing week with decent weather. Would I go again, probably not but that is nothing to do with the lodge more to do with the fact I have explored the area and would visit somewhere else in the UK
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the lodge's location overlooking the golf course and found it well equipped with everything you needed for your stay. It's also great to know that you enjoyed the hot tub, the local area, and the facilities on the park. We would like to apologise for the bottle of fizz not being available on your arrival. Unfortunately, this was missed during the changeover, and we're sorry for the disappointment caused. Thank you also for highlighting the maintenance issues with the top step, gate and fridge. We appreciate these comments and have been working through a programme of repairs and improvements to address these items. Guest feedback is invaluable in helping us prioritise areas that need attention. The fridge has been replaces, the gate fixed (professionally replaced with a custom made gate) and the stair has booked in for October as the maintenance team said it wasn't a safety issue more creaky ... We appreciate your comments regarding the beds and pillows and understand that comfort can be very personal, with different guests having different preferences. We do replace the mattresses almost every year, and we leave a selection of firm, and soft pillows as well as spares to try and meet everyone's needs, but we know this cannot always be achieved. We apologise you did not find it comfortable. It's wonderful to hear that you had a relaxing week, enjoyed the local pubs and attractions, and were blessed with decent weather. While we're sorry to hear that you are unlikely to return simply because you'd like to explore a different part of the UK, we're grateful that you chose Woodland View Lodge for your holiday and are pleased that overall you had an enjoyable stay. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best with your future adventures. Best wishes, Alex & Woodland View Lodge
Woodland view was overall a lovely stay.
There were just a few things that needed fixing. The fridge leans out towards you when you open it - it was dangerous! There was dirt in the doorway when we walked in so was a bad first impression. The bath panel was hanging off . Some outside chairs had rusted so were sharp. The pull out bed was down at the head - it looked like one leg was bent and so the bed wasn’t flat to lie on. We left a night early due to illness but wouldn’t likely come back unless a few things were updated The good things… comfiest bed ever! Big bath! Was beautiful! Easy instructions and getting key. Good location over looking golf course WiFi Large living room area and high ceiling - my son is autistic and it really felt like you could breathe/had room. We had a great time just like I say a few things to sort out!
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're delighted to hear that, overall, you had a lovely stay and enjoyed many aspects of the lodge. It's wonderful to know that you found the main bed incredibly comfortable, appreciated the large bath, spacious living area, WiFi, and beautiful views over the golf course. We're especially pleased that the lodge felt spacious and relaxing for your family, and that your son felt comfortable during his stay. We also appreciate you bringing the maintenance issues to our attention. We're sorry that the cleanliness in the doorway on arrival gave a poor first impression, and we apologise for the issues you experienced with the fridge, bath panel, outdoor furniture and pull-out bed. These are certainly not the standards we aim for, and your comments have been noted so that the necessary repairs and improvements can be carried out. We're also very sorry to hear that illness meant you had to leave a night early and hope everyone is feeling much better now. Thank you for recognising the positive aspects of the lodge whilst also providing constructive feedback. We genuinely value comments like yours as they help us continue improving the experience for future guests. We hope that once the planned updates and repairs have been completed, you may consider visiting us again in the future. Best wishes, Alex & Woodland View Lodge
Really enjoyed our stay, especially the hot tub.
Few niggles, ie no warning note that the fridge/ freezer wasn’t working, replacement in lounge area not ideal but fully understood, toaster only worked on one side, outside steps very creaky but otherwise would totally recommend staying in this lovely place and location. We will be back!
One side of the toaster doesn’t work, the beds were uncomfy, hot tub jets kept falling out, the main fridge was broken (there was a replacement but not ideal)
We had a fantastic stay in this lodge it felt like home from home so welcoming and the area was lovely the hot tub was a bonus for the daughter would definitely book again highly recommend
We had a really lovely stay at the lodge the hot tub was definitely a highlight!
The two-bedroom layout worked well for us, with one en-suite and a big hallway bathroom where our wee one loved using her Lush bath bombs. The lodge felt spacious and cosy, and I especially liked the partition between the kitchen and living area so I could cook while my husband and toddler relaxed. It felt private with beautiful views, yet it’s still very close to the estate entrance and only about 7 minutes drive from a retail park with B&M and Sainsbury’s, which was super handy. A few things to note: there’s no dishwasher, so be ready to do dishes by hand, but there is a washing machine a big plus for going home without laundry! A proper clothes rack would’ve been helpful, as only a radiator rack was provided. There were toys, books, and board games to keep kids entertained, which was a nice touch. The only issue we had was the couch cushions kept sliding off which made it a bit tricky to just sit back and chill. But all in all, we had a great time and it was definitely better than other lodges we’ve stayed in around Northumberland and we’d happily come back!
Another fantastic stay, we make it our annual trip and stay at woodland view, property location is perfect we look forward to our stay every year
A few little niggles that would have taken the review from 4 to 5 stars.
But I will say that we had a wonderful stay and loved the location, the position of the lodge, the space in the lodge and of course the hot tub which we made full use of after a long day exploring. Little niggles were, no bread knife which proved tricky, small bath towels, hot tub lid was heavy to lift off and on. Loose fittings in hot tub which fell apart every time we got in. Door handles in kitchen needed deep cleaning. Wobbly step to decking which felt unsafe. Blinds in both bedrooms let a lot of light in and we ended up buying something to black out the light so we could sleep properly, no bottle of bubbly on arrival which was disappointing. The positives far outweighed the niggles however and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn’t want to leave. Percy Wood park is clean and quiet. Also positioned really well to attractions - only 10 mins to Alnwick. Already looking for next year. Thanks for having us.
Had a lovely relaxing week nice and quiet park
Scenic location overlooking golf course.
Property could have been cleaner. Blinds were thick or dust and a lot of the cutlery needed re washing. Internet and TV were also poor.
Lovely relaxing lodge - very peaceful.
Lodge had everything you need in it - home from home. Loved our stay and hoping to return again very soon.
We enjoyed our stay overall but were a little disappointed with a couple of things.
Firstly when we arrived we had no welcome pack or bottle of Prosecco, as promised, which we were looking forward to to have in the hot tub and instead there was an opened bottle of milk and soya milk in the fridge which were on the turn so not very pleasant and definitely shouldn’t have been in there! Also a very dirty baking tray in the cupboard which we needed to use. Could not open the en-suite shower doors either so we used main bathroom which wasn’t a problem but obviously if there were more than two people it might have been Apart from that we had a good time I just think it needs a bit of tlc really.
Good Afternoon, First of all thank you so much for staying with us and I am so sorry that you had a less than perfect stay. For full transparency our regular cleaner called in sick the day you were due to arrive and we used an unknown however heavily recommended cleaner for your arrival. Regardless any cleaner should have known to check the fridge for food and clean it so I am so sorry about that. I will certainly be feeding this back as well as the baking tray so that this does not happen in future. The shower door I will have looked at asap as it hasn’t been an issue before but must need a little maintenance so I’ll get my husband onto that on the next available opportunity. Finally I apologise that the cleaner forgot to leave out the complimentary bottle of wine. (We don’t do welcome packs but do have a welcome book and always leave a bottle of wine to toast your arrival at the lodge). If you are ever to stay again in the future I’ll be sure to pop out a couple of bottles as an apology for you not receiving it the first time. If you ever do stay with us again our numbers are in the welcome book in the kitchen and we would have happily brought up a bottle/cleaned the fridge/ fixed the shower door. We will always do our best to rectify any issues you may have to give you the best stay possible. Again my apologies but hope to see you back again in the future. Best Wishes, Alex
Couldn’t fault the place the owner anything really it was a fabulous place to stay for a nice quiet weekend away.
Would highly recommend to anyone and we will be back for sure
Good Afternoon, Thank you for such lovely and thoughtful feedback it really does make our day. We hope to see you back again in the future. Thank you Alex
3 people aged 60-82and our 5 yr old dog.
This was our second stay at this lodge, its clean and comforfortable with good facilities but needs a little tlc. Theres a washing machine but no clothes airer or iron, these addition would make facilities great, The view over the golf course is lovely especially wen the weather is good. The hottub is fab and we made the most of it. We will return again.
Good Evening, First of all thank you so much for staying with us and for your feedback - it is much appreciated. There is an iron in the second bedroom and a clothes airer (small radiator clip on one) under the bed. My own fault for hiding them! I’ll be sure to find a more practical place for them so they can be seen or leave a note in the welcome pack for future. Thank you again for staying with us and I hope to see you back again in the future. Best Wishes, Alex
Fabulous very well presented lodge situated in a lovely aspect overlooking the golf course .
Fantastic and well laid out interior providing every appliance necessary . Two bathrooms also proved invaluable . Ample storage space for all four of us too and plenty of room inside and out for our dog . Very centrally placed for visits to Alnwick and Bamburgh Castle , Seahouses , Lindisfarne and Morpeth . Would definitely recommend
Good Afternoon, I am so glad you and your family had a great holiday with us. Thank you so much for such lovely and thoughtful feedback it really does make our day. We certainly hope to see you back again in the future. Thank you Alex
We all had a great stay at the lodge.
Well looked after, great position overlooking the golf course, plenty of room, great hot tub, very good communication with the owner when needed, well placed for accessing the area and some fab local places to eat. We had a fantastic long weekend break. Would definitely recommend it.
Hello, First of all Thank you so much for such lovely and thoughtful feedback. I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay and we really hope to see you back again in the future. Thank you Alex

Supermarkets 10 minuets down the A1 and also great beaches 20/25 minuets away . All in all we would highly recommend a stay looking forward to our next visit .. Paul &Dawn .
Good Afternoon Paul & Dawn, Thank you for such lovely feedback it really does make our day. We hope to see you back again in the future. Thank you Alex
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Woodland view Lodge.
Lovely surroundings. Great facilities. Everything you need including an air fryer Bottle of bubbly on our arrival Hot tub wonderful with fabulous scenery overlooking the golf course. Nice quiet area. Alex the host very helpful, kind and attentive quick to answer any queries. We had a wonderful time. Would highly recommend. Many thanks to Alex
Lovely location overlooking golf course.
Clean, tidy and comfortable. Only issues as mentioned previously are slow wifi/broadband (only 2-4 Mb) making streaming services a challenge. Faster broadband is available on site. Also the sofa is uncomfortable with base cushions slipping out of position. There is also no dishwasher which you would expect from a 'luxury' lodge.
Loved our time here golf course needs more care and attention but all other stunning.
This is our annual holiday stay we look forward to it every year!
it’s in a great location peaceful and quiet. Always spotless when we come, with a bottle of wine on arrival makes you feel very welcomed. See you in 2025
Had a great 2 weeks holiday.
Lodge is in a great position overlooking the fairway. Owners were great, rectified a small issue very quick and even brought us cakes to say sorry for the inconvenience. Nice hot tub to chill in the evenings.
Lovely lodge.
Clean and welcoming on arrival. Wine, soap, tea towels, oven gloves, cleaning bits, bin liners all provided which are often missing. Collection of board games and books are a great idea. Really quiet location. View from the hot tub is fantastic. We had no issues over comfort of the sofa. The WiFi was patchy. Struggled for streaming TV and we had some rain so couldn't always be out. Ended up using phone for hot-spot. I would have preferred bath sheet size towels for a bit more of a luxurious touch and maybe an Alexa or equivalent but all in a value for money weeks holiday. Thank you
Lovely cabin with lots of space and well stocked kitchen around plates/cutlery/utensils.
Easy to find and as it looked on the website, lovely touches around games and a bottle of wine + water bowls for the dogs. Amazing pitch and great for switching off and relaxing and a great view of the golf course. In order to improve my ratings then i would look at the following; Main sofa very awkward to sit on with it being a sofa bed, need to often get up and re-adjust to get any sort of comfort - a more comfortable sofa would make a huge difference. Lots of TVs in the property but due to poor wifi and digital signal whilst we were there they were never really in use, thank the lord I had my firestick/laptop and unlimited data on my phone for night-time viewing and entertainment.
Just came back from spending a week here.
We absolutley loved it! It was so well equipped, had everything you can think of! We loved the hot tub and morning views of the deer. Such a warm amd cozy Lodge. The sofa bed is uncomfortable to sit on like in previous reviews but that certainly didn't ruin the stay. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely stay.
The property was absolutely gorgeous and deceivingly big.
Great facilities - couple of little points, en-suite shower doors were a bit stiff and so was the patio door but was only very minor issues. The festive decorations were such a lovely touch. The welcome booklet was really helpful with ideas on things to door, places to eat / drink. Perfect for pets too. Would not hesitate to stay again
We loved our stay in the lodge.
It was well equipped, clean and plenty of room. The bathrooms were great and the bedrooms were comfortable. The hot tub was great and the view across the golf course was fab, a lovely surprise to see the deer. The only issue was that the sofa is very uncomfortable. Would definitely come and stay again!
Our fourth time visiting this property now, can’t recommend it enough.
Beautiful spacious lodge all the amenities that you could possibly need. Stunning views overlooking the golf course with plenty of wildlife to watch. The owners always go above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We’ll be back again soon!
Had the most amazing stay at Woodland View the lodge is beautiful and has everything you need for your stay.
The hot tub was really lovely and very private as you have no lodges in front of you just a fabulous view of the golf course. Will definitely be back thank you
Great lodge to stay in has everything you will need.
Comfortable beds and location of the lodge is perfect over looking the golf course we seen lots of wildlife including deers. We will definitely stay again in the future.
Overall an excellent stay.
Clean and a good location to explore from. Only slight downside was the furniture could of been a bit more comfortable
Excellent lodge in a beautiful setting.
Loved every minute and didn’t want to come home.
This is our second year coming here we love the lodge and location.
Very peaceful and dog friendly we like it that much we have put a deposit down for 2024!
The lodge was clean , spacious and comfortable for 2 couples.
The kitchen was well equipped and a good size. The bedrooms were a good size for a lodge with a great walk in wardrobe in the master. The site is very picturesque and an ideal place for golfers. No of our party are into golf but we enjoyed the views and peaceful outlook. There is a lot of things to do within 10 to 15 minute drive. Alnwick and Alnmouth, Northumberland Zoo , Aln Steam railway and a lovely park a few minutes walk away with a lovely cafe. We had a lovely week and definitely made use of the hot tub. Deer spotting from the decking early in the morning was another highlight. Definitely recommend x
Literally just come back from a 7 night stay at woodland view lodge Swarland.
Its in a prime location for exploring and visiting Northumberlands beautiful towns and attractions, The accommodation is well presented spacious and clean with a lovely view overlooking the golf course. The facilities are really good inc washer/dryer ironing board and iron it also has a wine cooler in kitchen although it is a little noisy. the hot tub is fabulous and we used it alot, the wine left for us was much appreciated and went down a treat. our dog loved his holiday, aswell as the treats left for him. just a few things(the sofa cushions do move forward and can be a bit uncomfortable, the hot tub could do with a windbreak for comfort and privacy and a clothes airer would be a good addition to facilities for drying outdoors on hot days. All in all though a great holiday was had by all and we will be retuning next year.
Good Afternoon, I am so very glad to hear that you had an enjoyable stay with us this past week. Thank you for your feedback, my apologies the sofa cushions should be tied onto the frame so that they do not move, I will certainly ensure this is put in place in the future as a few guests have commented recently on this. We hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards, Alex. Woodland View Lodge
Beautiful location, perfect spot for quiet and privacy.
Lots of places within easy reach so a perfect base. Lots to like, beautiful living room and main bedroom, hot tub fabulous, the treats for Molly dog were much appreciated by her and the goodies for the humans were gratefully received too, however unfortunately there are areas that need attention to make it the luxury lodge it is described as. Kitchen equipment is very basic, struggled with no colander dor example, settee extremely uncomfortable cushion seating doesnt stay put, extra cushions for comfort would be nice. Extractor doesn't work in the bathroom, larger towels that wrap around you and nicer quality would be appreciated along with more comfortable bedding, the quilt in bedroom 2 didn't feel very nice and the bedding felt worn. It is annoying that there are no lights than can be switched off without getting out of bed in room 2, it is tight on space which is pointed out in description but there are things that could be done. The filter on the hot tub is damaged and loose. The outdoor area is in need of a good clean, I cleaned the table so we could use. I tried to hoover but it didn't work properly and smelled awful so had to do my best with dustpan and brush! I dont feel it should be expected to strip the beds and it's not pleasant to find a stain on the mattress cover which wasn't from me! The park is maintained to a very high standard and very clean.
Good Afternoon, Thank you for your feedback, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and that the wine and treats went down well with the whole family! We will always strive to take any feedback onboard and I have taken steps to address some of the issues you have mentioned including purchasing a colander and new Hoover. A deep clean of the decking has also been arranged. The bedding situation will certainly be looked at as our cleaning team are usually very efficient at removing any bedding that is less than perfect. So I am very sorry about this. I believe the stripping of the bedding may be a request from Sykes as it is certainly not in our check out instructions in your welcome book as we are more than happy to do that for you. I certainly hope these issues didn’t affect your holiday too much and you still had an enjoyable time. Hopefully we’ll see you back in the future and can improve on your past experience. Kind Regards, Alex Woodland View Lodge
Sofa in living room a bit uncomfortable as cushions keep moving forward, good facilities comfy beds
Stunning location, tastefully decorated lodge, very welcoming and comfortable.
Sadly we had to cut short our holiday and return home so didn't get to use the hot tub. Will defintately book again and return later in the year.
We have just spent a lovely BH weekend at Woodland view albeit the weather been cold and miserable.
It was very clean and comfortable, and the hot tub was amazing. The owners provided a few added extras which were a lovely touch.. treats and bowls for our pooch and a bottle of fizz in the fridge for us. We found the kitchen was well equipped for eating in if you wanted to. We ate out most days and found some nice places to eat that weren’t too far away. Sunday lunch at The Northumberland Arms in Felton ( 10 mins away ) was amazing. The bathrooms were spotless and equipped with hand wash and towels.. could have done with a bath mat to stand on but that was my only niggle. Overall, a lovely stay in a nice area of Northumberland.
Lovely lodge , very well equipped, spotlessly clean lots of lovely touches and very comfortable with super views , we watched the deer from the hot tub ,the park is well maintained and very quiet ,could maybe have done with information on the walks around the site and the golf clubhouse ( opening hours , food, etc) , we had a super stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend
I have already recommended our stay to a friend.
Set in a perfect location, very clean, well presented lodge.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback and your recommendation. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you back again soon. Kind Regards, Alex Woodland View Lodge
One of the most beautiful lodges we’ve stayed in.
So lovely and spacious, plenty of room for the whole family and every amenities you could possibly need for your stay. We definitely made use out of the kitchen! The views are lovely, we especially loved sitting out on the deck having breakfast watching the deer! The kids toys are a great touch and came in so useful especially for a winter getaway. We enjoyed playing the board games on a night time as a family and really appreciated the hot chocolate and marshmallows that were provided by the owners as an extra Christmas treat! As a whole the owners went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect sending information on Christmas activities for the kids, a complimentary bottle of fizz for the grown ups and so much more. We will certainly be back again soon. Thank you
Stunning Property, beautifully decorated with lovely views overlooking the golf course.
We’ve had a lovely week at this lodge which was comfortable and clean , fabulous hot tub overlooking the golf course , set on a good quiet location.
We would recommend this as a great place to stay .
Woodland view met my pre requisites - two bedrooms with second being a double, walk-in shower, pet friendly, hot tub and of course in the area we wanted to be in.
The instructions for accessing the property where clear and the response to the text message was very prompt. On entering woodland view – a welcome pack was on hand which included a bottle of fizz, doggy treats and bowls to use a great treat for humans and dog! The property has a lovely view across the golf course and we saw deer running across it early in the morning, and heard owls hooting at night. There were two bathrooms and a spacious living area and kitchen which was well stocked with cutlery and utensils. It was very clean; the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was discreetly maintained daily and was a treat to being especially in the evening as the sun set and the stars came out. The dog walking area was close by and easy to access. It was an ideal location to explore the local area with it only being minutes away from the A1. The site was also very quiet and peaceful and I would highly recommend this accommodation and stay there again if in the area.
From the minute we walked into our property we felt very at home.
There was everything we needed and more for our stay. It was very clean and comfortable and the hot tub was a great way to relax after a day at the castles and surrounding areas and the star gazing was lovely in the evening. We had a fabulous view and the park itself was very well kept. The beds were very comfortable, clean towels, bedding, everything has been thought of..and what a lovely touch when we arrived a bottle of fizz to welcome us. We will definitely be staying again in the future. And would like to thank the owners for making our holiday even better.
Fantastic few days lodge is beautiful and the view from the hot tub was amazing thank you for the chilled wine and the ice ready when we arrived loved it will definitely be back
This is a really lovely lodge and in many ways the owner has gone above and beyond, wine and chocolates on arrival, games for the family, helpful information provided.
Unfortunately there were a few things that for me made the lodge lose the luxury element, the standard of cleaning was poor - dog hairs and dirty cutlery. Also some parts of the property are now looking worn - peeling kitchen cupboards, baking trays need replacing and the bathrooms are also beginning to look tired. However, we enjoyed our stay overall.
A definite Yes!
Beautiful site,a super comfortable lodge. Spotless throughout, comfy beds with lovely linen. Not too busy at the time we were there but lots of super well kept lodges. Very dog friendly,he loved his stay too!
We loved the caravan and the holiday.
Sykes as a company were very good and easy to deal with. We did have a personal problem that came up, but I messaged them and they sorted it out for us with the owner. I must stress here it was nothing at all to do with Sykes or the owner, it was a family problem. The owner was very easy and obliging to deal with. I would have absolutely no problem recommending this caravan at all, and we will be staying in it again. Thankyou
Beautiful lodge lovely and clean stunning views loved seeing all the wildlife on the golf course.
would definitely recommend
We were not disappointed at all with our stay at woodland view.
Its location is perfect for visiting the north east coast. The lodge was set in a super position, as it said it was. It's very well equipped and the lounge is very comfortable. The hot tub gave us great pleasure. On the whole it was very comfortable. The main bed in the ensuite room could be better. it's very low and the mattress isn't the most comfy. The shower is excellent! and there is plenty of space, There are a few things showing wear like cracks on windowsills, a broken blind and the cutlery was a bit basic as was the cookware which showed it was well used. The lack of bath towels was annoying. The wine cooler is extraordinarily noisy and gets very hot when in use. Hence we turned it off. The freezer needs to be defrosted. On the whole though it is a place we'd come back to and recommend.
Good Afternoon, Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. We can only apologise about the blind it was damaged not long before your arrival unfortunately. We have ordered a replacement which will be here in the next few weeks. Thank you for bringing to our attention about the cookware and freezer I’ll look into these personally and remedy the situation. We hope to see you back again soon. Kind Regards. Alex Woodland View Lodge.
Lovely lodge and location really comfortable and clean, lovely views from the lodge made even more special when we saw deer, the lodge was exactly what we needed for a break away with friends
Lovely place.
Plenty of cleaning products provided, so no need to bring extras. Peaceful stay with relaxing surroundings.
Excellent property.
Clean, well equipped and well presented. A perfect stay. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
Exceptionally clean lodge on a very well maintained site.
Lodge very well appointed with lovely little finishing touches. Beautiful views over the golf course, we woke up twice to reindeer! Wonderful hot tub. Extremely comfortable, warm and cosy for our winter stay. Owner very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!
Family of 4 adults and 1 child for a 3 night visit.
Very spacious lodge with all the amenities you could need. Lodge is in great location on the park site as it overlooks golf course. Only a short drive for a day out to Amble Harbour Village & Alnwick. Hot tub was an added luxury to end a busy day walking & exploring. Can’t fault our stay - We’ll definitely be back!
Lovely holiday and lodge clean and well equipped
Lovely and cosy with everything needed to have a great week, even in terrible weather.
Hot timing was a great addition and the furnishing was very comfortable and cosy. Wi-Fi wasn’t great but not a big problem, adding site bin location to the handbook would be a good idea.
Lovely Lodge very clean and warm Lovely little touches and attention to detail Highly recommended
We had a great stay and the owner couldn’t be any more helpful
This was the perfect location.
The perfect accommodation. It was truly home from home, the Hot tub is situated so it overlooks the golf course but to the right is a view of northunberlands hills. The lodge had everything you needed, the owners were so helpful (for us people who have no idea about modern electricity timers
Highly recommended.
Very comfortable. View was amazing & hot tub fantastic. We didn't want to leave.
We had a lovely stay at the woodland view luxury lodge; the owners were easy to contact and helpful with any queries.
The lodge was comfortable, spacious and well furnished. It was clean and we liked that the hot tub was checked on during our stay, so we didn’t have to worry about it. The lodge was situated close enough to main roads so it was easy to travel around but far enough into the country side that it was nice and relaxing with little noise on a night. We would consider coming back if we were to holiday in the area again and would recommend to anyone else.
We absolutely loved our stay here, the lodge itself is beautifully laid out, with plenty of space, comfortable beds and excellent facilities.
The hot tub was the perfect way to relax after a busy day and the view from there is stunning. We didn’t want to leave!
Covid cleanliness was poor in this facility.
We had to clean all the surfaces and the floor due to dust and dirt left near, around and under furniture.
The static caravan is well positioned within a caravan site overlooking a golf club .
The location is lovely between Alnwick and the Northumberland coast line .
