The Lake House

It was our 2nd visit and while we were still there we booked again for next year.

The kitchen had everything you need the beds are really comfortable the whole lodge has everything you need. The fishing was absolutely brilliant. The only down side is that the Internet was slow at time's.

Absolutely love the lake house peaceful welcoming and home from Home spotless and the welcoming hamper is a lovely Touch and nothing is too much trouble lovely owners and we will be back and if your a fisherman dont go unprepared there's some big fish in the lake that will snap 10lb line enjoy

The Lake House is an excellent lodge, right on a small lake.

The Lodge is very comfortable with all the comforts of home. This is our second visit and we booked for next year while we were there.

A beautiful lodge with thought given to our comfort, everything you could possibly want , we had a lovely relaxing week , a home from home as it’s our 3rd visit , immaculately clean , beautifully furnished.

. what more could you need , fishing was good and accessible. Lovely time was had .

Lodge very comfortable and clean, however cannot say the same about wagtail management DOING REED REMOVAL WHILST PAYING GUESTS ARE PRESENT -NO ON TOTALLY RUINED ARE LAST TWO DAYS FISHING - RANT OVER!

The lodge is beautiful the owners are so friendly and welcoming and we had a fabulous holiday the downside was I'm a keen Angler and this is why we booked the lodge unfortunately the reeds are over grown and the Airator wasn't working so the fish wernt feeding properly I no this his not the owner of the lodges fault but surely the maintenance Team should be on top of this as hot weather and no oxygen will kill the lake this was my only dissatisfaction as I told the people in shop but no interest

An exceptionally well presented, maintained lodge, warm, cosy and clean.

Well equipped and beautiful top class bedding . Lovely attention to detail with the furnishings and curtains. The fishing platform and decking area are perfect and are accessed directly from the lodge. Making it perfect for anyone with difficulties walking any distance. Thank you to Angie the owner for her attention to detail.

From start to finish the holiday was excellent the lodge had everything you needed and more.

The fishing was excellent and the lake and grounds maintenance was exceptional The staff at the site couldn't do enough .We have already booked for next year and look forward to our return.

What can I say about the Lake House, it was the loveliest lodge we have been in for a very long time.

It was immaculate and very homely with everything you could ever want inside. It was immaculately clean and definitely home from home. The outside was very spacious and for the fishermen you would not be disappointed. The lake was just outside the veranda and my husband caught, carp, barbel, bream all of a good size and the man next door caught a 23lb carp so some real good fishing. We ate at the Stag in Barkston which was excellent and had something for everyone. We were so so happy at the Lake house we would have easily spend another week there but alas it was booked. So we could make sure we got in next year we have rebooked all ready.

Had the most relaxing perfect easter break in the beautiful Lodge with my husband mum and two little dachshunds.

With all the little touches it felt like home to home which is just what we wanted. Just the sitting on the decking over the looking the lake was just blissful. Made friends with the ducks and the huge bbq was a extra special surprise which my husband loved. And to top it off we had been left a little welcome hamper. I couldn't fault one thing with the accommodation or the super friendly park it was on. Food vans and a pop up pub (all very dig friendly) and a super friendly scenic dog walk around the park. I would actually happily live in the Lodge. We will be back again! Amazing

We had a beautiful week at The Lake House'.

All home comforts available and lovely furnishings. Great location on the lake and lots of fish to catch. We hope to return to this friendly soon. We met lovely Angie which was nice.

Wow! The lodge is a real home from home with everything you could wish for. Cosy and warm, very quiet, even had sky tv for the obligatory Xmas films. Large decking and friendly ducks! We have already booked to visit again.

From the moment we arrived at The Lake House we felt like we were at home and enjoyed a lovely Christmas there.

The owners have thought of every little detail, from a welcome hamper, magazines & books to treats, bowls & towels for the dog. The beds were extremely comfy & the showers great. We would definitely stay there again!

Very comfortable stay, nice location and easy access to main roads.

Fantastic host and lodge nice clean warm and inviting upon arrival everything was 100% we had an amazing stay and definitely will be back again.

What an amazing place to stay, The Lake House was beyond our expectations, it was immaculate, well Equipped and piece full with delightful views of the lake and surroundings, Angie the host was so considerate by supplying bread,milk,snacks and magazines it was a lovely touch of generosity, I will be recommending it to family and friends and certainly will be returning in the future.

Fantastic lodge, spacious, clean, well equipped with added extras hamper on arrival, good quality furniture & comfy bed.

Good fishing lovely scenery would recommend to anyone we hope to return next year if not fully booked!

As always we loved our stay and will be booking our next holliday at Wagtail in the next few days.

A BRIEF instruction sheet on appliances would be helpful.

Outside steps need maintenance and grab tails in shower areas would be good. We were two older sisters visiting a brother in the area.

The accommodation was fantastic.

The owner had thought of everything including everything for the dog a very comfortable bed and everything you would need if you want to cook or just have takeaways et cetera would definitely recommend this lodge we have booked again for next year the hamper left for us Was a very thoughtful gift.

The Lake House is a very comfortable, well equipped lodge.

All your needs are catered for and the food gifts are much appreciated. My husband enjoyed the fishing so much we have booked again for July next year and also booked the lodge next door for our friends.

This is our second visit to The Lakehouse and we again could not fault it.

It’s a superbly equipped cottage with everything you need and more. My husband loves the fishing and was very happy catching some beautiful carp, bream and barbles on the platform in front of the veranda whilst I relaxed crafting and reading. Very comfortable beds and 2 lovely shower rooms. I highly recommend staying here BUT hope by doing this it does not make it unavailable for our next stay! Definitely will visit again. We have just returned from a lovely 3 night stay at the Lake House and what a relaxing time we had!

My husband & son loved the fishing and made the most of it, the little touches in the lodge made the stay perfect and had everything we needed. Will definitely be returning ☺️

The holiday property was fantastic, there was a welcome pack provided for when we arrived, that was a nice touch.

There was everything there, home from home. It was clean and fresh when we went in. The fishing was good. The only negative thing was the mattress was hard to sleep on.

We really enjoyed our stay here.

We’ve been several times and it’s like home from home. The lodge has everything you need. Thank you for the wonderful welcome box of treats. The lodge is so peaceful and surrounded by water which makes relaxing on the veranda outside heaven, whilst watching hubby fish. Beds are so comfortable and we sleep better here than at home. Nice walks locally but will need a car for shopping and getting out as the site is a bit isolated (which we love) would certainly recommend and I know we’ll be coming back. Thank you for having us again

Everything was perfect. There was a nice card and welcome basket for us and we felt at home immediately. The fishing platform was very close and accessible. Would definitely book here again.

The Lodge was equipped with everything you would need and to a very high standard. The beds were super comfy and the decor very pleasant. They have thought of everything including a thoughtful welcome pack of the essentials and some treats upon our arrival. Hubby enjoyed the ease of fishing right outside the lodge and caught many large carp as well as some other smaller fish. Excellent value for money too. Thanks again for a great, stress free week.

It was a great place to stay and we would definitely return.

The outdoor space was ideal to enjoy the good weather we had and it meant our dogs could enjoy it with us too. All needs and canines accommodate for. The only small improvements would be to have an empty hoover ( it was full when we went to use it) and the dryer fluff collector the same.

Our holiday was lovely, the lodge was everything we needed and more besides, very welcoming , very homely and all with thoughts for our needs and comfort, the welcome basket was a lovely surprise, was great to see games books and crafts if we needed them , the weather was brilliant for us and the fishing was too , an excellent holiday and we’ve booked to visit again Thanks for a lovely holiday

Absolutely lovely property in an amazing relaxing location.

Some really nice touches with the extras that were left for your comfort and convenience. A very informative folder with some great walks and full information on the property and the country park. Wagtail Country Park is a great place to relax and switch off and the fishing from the lodge amazing. I would highly recommend staying here and plan to return ourselves. Also if you are a fan of wax melts the owner makes these and you can purchase them. I bought some and they are amazing. Thank you again for a great stay.

Stayed for one week and everything was wonderful, Weather included!

We have stayed before so as returning visitors knew that it would be fantastic, could not wish for anything nicer. Lodge has everything in it you are likely to need for the week. Just bring clothes and food items and you'll want for nothing else. Beds are the most comfy beds i have slept in on any holiday. Decor of the lodge is beautiful. There is plenty of outdoor furniture if the weather is on your side. we were lucky enough to sit outside and enjoy breakfat on the wrap around verdanda (safe for dogs so they can sit outside but not escape, my dog spent the whole week lying on the veranda watching the ducks on the water) The lodge in situated by the lake so perfect for fishing if that interests you (it did my dad) plenty of fish, my dad was catching one after another and they were big fish. Wagtail park is in the beautiful countryside, plenty of dog walking. we used to go onsite towards Marston and park in the little car park and the follow the bridle path. As we are in the countryside you need a car to get to shops, there is a little shop onsite for basics but we felt it was expensive. 20 minutes drive towards grantham and you have all the shops you'll ever need, We used Asda and morrisons but there is lots of other shops to choose from. Sky TV so never miss your programme, also has smart TV so able to log into all other platforms such as disney, nextflix, prime etc wifi signal was very good throughout our stay. There is a food van onsite fri-mon so you can buy food if you don't want to cook. We didn't try this whilst there but defiently plan to on our next visit. The owner makes her own candles, wax melts etc etc we purchased some and have to say they are gorgeous smelling. Can't wait to return in August. If you are thinking of booking i'd say just do it. Everyone is so friendly onsite and in our opinion the lodge gets 5 stars for everything

Had a fantastic stay at the lake house, we were very impressed with the lodge and the fishing was great.

Easy to find location, extremely well equipped property. A nice quiet property on a very nice site, great for walks with the dog. I honestly couldn't fault the property, we had already booked for September before this weekend. Can't wait for our next visit.
