My second visit and still as wonderfully relaxing as last year.

Peace, quiet and tranquility in a beautiful and well appointed luxury lodge with the most lovely views over the Mere. The Hot Tub was crystal clean and the seating on the decking was perfect. Comfortable furniture, beds, fresh linen and towels. Some lovely places to eat nearby, the on-site staff were very welcoming, helpful with a small issue and attentive. A few more wine glasses would be appreciated. If the price is good I’ll certainly be booking again for next year……I really didn’t want to leave to go home yesterday.

I stayed in the accommodation with my family.

This included my partner, parents, sister and nieces. Over all the accommodation was lovely. The location was great for doing things in the area (Chester zoo, the Gruffalo trail and Chester itself) We love having a hot tub in accommodation like this so this was a big draw for us. Having the hot tub overlooking the lake was lovely too. The accommodation feels new and is well designed, even though there was a lot of us we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The accommodation felt mostly clean, however there were a few things which were missed which let it down. This was mainly loads, I mean hundreds of spiders and webs. I know the location is rural / remote and this will mean there are insects. However it was clear that the outside of the property was not cleaned often as part of the between guests cleaning. It looked like the spider webs had not been cleaned that season and certainly within the last month. There were also a few webs inside when we arrive so this looked like poor attention to detail from the cleaning crew, beyond their normal areas. Which I do have to say were immaculate, so it’s not a criticism of their work as such. More that perhaps this item should be added to their check list. As I’m aware how these things work, and they are on tight schedule. There were a lot of wasps around and as we had small children we felt on guard because of this, the property is warm due to the glass doors, so we needed windows open. Again I fully understand this is to be expected and you can’t control the insects in the area! A wasp trap on the deck would be a great touch to help deal with this issue though. As we were close to maximum occupancy we found the amount of plates, cups and cutlery provided to be not enough. I think there are perhaps 8 of each, but for even light cooking and multiple meals a day this wasn’t enough. Similarly, we could have done with more equipment to cook with such as a few more bowls and pans. We were not doing lots of from scratch cooking but found it not quitter enough. My final issue I would raise is the very poor customer service via WhatsApp. You obviously get busy in the summer and direct people to use this to get in touch with your team. However, the reply took several days. When I did get a reply, I was given approx. 40 mins to reply before being told my query would be closed. This is an absolute cheek! It also doesn’t foster good will with customer, so you’re doing yourself no favours. I understand it’s a busy time, but perhaps employ more people for your very busy periods?

Would definitely use again

The main criticism is the lack of basic supplies such as toiletries, salt/pepper, oil etc.

Also there weren't enough toiletries rolls supplied.

Overall I thought the property was excellent very spacious lovely bedrooms and comfortable beds excellent outlook onto the lake with the wonderful hot tub.

Only recommendation would just have liked more variety of cups and glasses. Definitely recommend your property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay celebrating my husbands special family birthday celebration.

I would like to make a complaint about the hot tub it did not work from the night we got there we did report this and we had to use number 35 hot tub as ours was being drained this did ruin our experience with you as the whole reason for the holiday was to go in the hot tub and look out over the lake as the view was great unfortunately this could not happen when we spoke to reception they talked about a possible refund if you could get back to me it would be appreciated

Another fabulous stay at 40 Delamere, such a beautiful lodge.

With all the amenities you'd need for a nice relaxing holiday, comfy beds and fab shower! Stunning lake views, so nice to sit outside in the morning with a brew.. Looking forward to booking my 3rd stay very soon..

We had an amazing stay here.

Gorgeous cabin, lovely and clean and the view was incredible!

The location of the property with its proximity to the lake and the private launch site was fantastic.

The uninterrupted views were spectacular. The reason for only putting a smile for cleanliness, was because there were a few cobwebs in some light shades and we found a dog ball and some kibble under the soda when lifted it to retrieve something we had dropped and had rolled under there. The reason for only a smiley face on the maintenance, is because the headboards on both double beds were loose and banged on the wall throughout the night when ever one of us turned over. The over all lodge was beautiful, the rooms spacious and with very good quality fittings and furniture. The hot tub was a fabulous touch, enjoyed by us all. The open plan living area was great for us to spent time together, but on the other hand having the dividing door to the bedroom area was also great so that we could all have our own space if wanted/needed. It was brilliant for us to be able to take our little dog, and even though the property is pet friendly there was no trace of there ever being a dog in tthere before. There was no smell and no fur anywhere...absolutely fantastic! Would highly recommend this property for those who want a quiet relaxing break away from the rat race.

We’ve had an amazing stay.

The lodge is beautiful, spotlessly clean and has amazing views over the lake. We came for some much needed R&R and that is exactly what we got.

What a perfect place to go and relax.

Beautiful lodge, cosy, comfort and great location. We packed literally everything apart from the kitchen sink and it was all provided at the lodge for us, so we where made up, to see pans, cutlery etc. We definitely will be booking again in the future. One of my favourite places to go now. Thank you

Fantastic Stay – Strongly Suggested!

Our time spent at this property was wonderful! The setting was perfect, with lovely surroundings and convenient access to neighbouring attractions. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, was immaculately clean, and was well-maintained. After a day of exploring, the living areas. 

We had a great weekend with friends.

The lodge is spotlessly clean with comfortable beds, crisp laundry and soft towels. We loved the hot tub (which is clean and serviced), the lakeside pontoon and the proximity to Delamere Forest. The walk to the nearest pub was along a very busy road so we chose to drive for dinner a bit further away on the Sunday. We ate in on other nights - well equipped kitchen. Totally agree with other reviews... Please provide handsoap and a spare toilet roll!! (And washing machine instructions as we couldn’t work out how to use the dryer)

We loved the property and the area.

It was a great place for our family to spend together for three nights. We would love to return someday. Just a few items, if included, would have made it even more perfect...a hair dryer, pump hand soap in each bathroom and the kitchen, and some plastic wrap and/or foil to wrap up leftovers. Most vacation rentals we have been in would have included those. Again, we had a great time at an incredibly beautiful location in a lovely home! Thank you!

Great space for a large family group.

Great views of the lake and all the great fun everyone was having on the water. Will be back soon.

The lodge is amazing, situated on the lake with your own pontoon should you want to paddle board.

Spacious, clean and comfortable too. The only problem we had was getting access to the e-keys. I still hadn't been assigned a key on the day of check in and had to chase Sykes numerous times during the day to get them. They couldn't get in contact with anyone who could help but luckily they were assigned around 1pm. I don't know what we would have done if they weren't.

Great property for a group of friends or couples.

The lake setting is idyllic and very relaxing. The outdoor furniture and hottub are a great. Only down side is the little touches we’re missing. The hand soap had run out, the toilet paper was on its last sheets and simple things like salt, pepper, scissors, clingfilm were missing which would have made the difference.

The lodge was lovely, really spacious and ideal location overlooking lake.

The hot tub was perfect and nicely private. Site really clean and staff in the office helpful. Site really central to lots of attractions, we enjoyed Knowsley safari park which was amazing being so close to lions and hippos, Chester was really pretty and we went into wales and hollies farm shop was a must. The kids really enjoyed it too. We have a big family and we still felt there was lots of space so we would definitely recommend it and will come back!

The lodge we stayed in was immaculate!

! Well presented and overall a stunning place to stay! The views from the lodge were lovely, we were right on the lake front and it was perfect for the 3 children who were with us to play. The park itself was lovely very quiet and reserved which was perfect! We visited Chester zoo which was only about a 25 minute drive from the lodge again which was perfect! We will 100% be visiting again soon!

Lodge was great, my only suggestion is to have plastic glasses for outside other than that it was perfect
