    “We spent five nights at Kipling lodge and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful and quiet surroundings.”

    The lodge was on the banks of the lake and gave great access to walks. The lake cafe served teas and cake. The lodge was well equipped and had all facilities needed for the stay including a large hot tub which was always hot cleaned and maintained. Listening to and seeing the owls at night was peaceful. Our dog enjoyed chasing a ball on the field outside the garden. Ideally located close to facilities and larger towns and shopping if needed. Afternoon at Wincle brewery is highly ...

RUDYARD

Leek 3 miles; Asbourne 17 miles; Bakewell 24 miles.

The village of Rudyard enjoys a delightful countryside location. A certain Lockwood Kipling and his fiancée Alice Macdonald met on the shores of the lake and named their first-born son after the place. Rudyard Kipling (1865 – 1936), poet, novelist and short story writer has made this Staffordshire village world famous. The lake, a beauty spot and one of the most romantic places in Britain, is a family centre for picnics, boating, walking and fishing as well as the steam railway. Nearby Leek is a thriving town with good pubs and restaurants and many antique shops. Nearby the beautiful Manifold Valley cuts a course through superb scenery and is a delight for both walkers and cyclists with the "Manifold Trail".

No stag, hen or similar and no group/couple bookings under the age of 25.
