“This is a lovingly-decorated and fantastically well-equipped lodge in the Cheshire countryside.”
On arrival, we were warmly and efficiently welcomed, and able to settle into the lodge in no time at all.
The lodge has everything you need and was an immediate home-away-from-home. It was spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout. Not a speck of dust to be found!
The hot tub was a lovely feature, and we took many opportunities to enjoy that - both in the morning sunshine and for a relaxing evening dip. Again, well maintained.
We were delighted to see a card showing local attractions, restaurants, etc., which we thought was a lovely touch. We would recommend adding a couple (if this is updated anytime), that we also visited during our time in the area:
Erddig Hall (a beautiful National Trust property about 45 mins away); Wrexham (if you're fans of the 'Welcome to Wrexham' show and want to drop into The Turf, the pub on the stadium grounds);
Snugbury's ice cream shop (about 10 mins away, and on the way to/from Chester);
Knowsley Safari Park (about 50 mins away)
There are two *tiny* points that would have made our stay totally perfect. The main bedroom bed has a soft mattress, so was not to our preference - but we recognise that it is hard to suit all guests on that front. One of the toilet seats is loose so needs tightening.
Other than that, we had a delightful stay and would recommend this lodge/touring park to anyone looking for a lovely break in a beautiful part of the country. Thank you for a lovely stay.
