“We stayed here for two nights with the kids and had a really lovely break.”

It’s a great base for exploring the Peak District, with easy access to surrounding areas and some lovely country pubs nearby. The kids especially loved seeing the cows in the field just a short walk away. The lodge itself is cosy and well-equipped, with everything you need for a comfortable stay including TV, WiFi and kitchen essentials. The hosts were really accommodating and helpful, letting us use the full drive and providing a guide of places to visit, which was a nice touch. It also felt ...

It also felt very private and relaxed during our stay. It is set in the owner’s back garden, which didn’t bother us and still felt private, but it’s worth being aware of. The outside area didn’t quite match the photos (the hanging chairs weren’t there), and there were just a few small signs that a bit more attention to cleaning would improve things – for example we found a vape under the bed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and it’s a lovely little place with lots of potential. With a bit more attention to detail it would be spot on, and we would definitely consider staying again.
