Description

Cedar Lodge is a tremendous property near the village of Rosliston in Derbyshire.

The lodge is perfect for a group of friends or a family wanting to have a trip away as it has wheelchair access, open-plan living and fantastic forest views all around whilst being embedded deep in the amazing Rosliston Forestry Centre.

As you enter your new holiday base, you are met by the open-plan living area, which has all you need for a self-catering stay.

In the kitchen area, there is an electric oven and electric hobs to help you cook up a treat that everyone will enjoy.

Gather everyone around the dining table or take the food outside with garden seating available.

Wash your dinner down with a drink or two as you take in the sunset over the tall trees guarding your lodge.

When the night time sky comes in to replace the sunset, head back inside and find a show for everyone to watch as you sink into one of the two sofas.

If the yawns start echoing around, call it a night on the super-king-size bed, the twin room or the double bunk room.

Once you’re well-rested, start the day off just right with a rejuvenating shower in either the wet room or the shower room.

Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 23554, 1176181, 1168741, 1168739, and 1168735, together sleeping up to 42 guests.

The lodge was extremely comfortable and well fitted throughout.

Lovely location with good local facilities. The only downside was the very bright green night light so definitely take a sleep mask

We stayed here as a group of friends meeting up (from different parts of the country) for a nature and swimming weekend (would definitely recommend Dosthill Quarry and Brent Farm) We loved the location of the cabins in the woods and attached to the park.

It was a comfortable place to stay with a good sized communal area, and outdoor seating around the back of the lodge. As a group of adults it would have been cramped in the room with 2 sets of bunk beds for 4 people but as it happened we only used that room for 2 adults so it was fine. The bedding and towels were clean to a high standard. We also appreciated the fans, to keep cool. There is plenty of storage room and hooks for walking/other gear. The barbeque looked in excellent condition - we didn't use it as we were there during the heat wave and didn't want to risk any fire hazards. But cooking facilities indoors were really equipped. Our only criticism was the amount of flies in the property when we arrived and couldn't seem to get rid of, not sure if some rubbish/compost had been left previously that had attracted them. So I would advise people to take a fly swat. Easy access, easy parking. I would be happy use these lodges again and try to get the bigger cabin, but that was booked out for the weekend we were all available, so I'd need to plan ahead. I would also look next time to try to book in with some of the activities at the Nature Reserve Centre to add to the experience. Cafe on site was lovely, little gift shop, play area - actually looked great for kids. Squirrels are entertaining, but no bother. Value for money I thought was pretty good, it worked out for us to be £90 per person for the weekend, that was 6 of us sharing. For a couple that was £180 - which worked out about the same as some of the hotels in Tamworth, but it depends what environment you're looking for (town/country, lively/peaceful) and how much privacy you want for your weekend (shared areas, self-catering, ensuites etc...). All in all we had a wonderful weekend with lovely friends and chilled vibe. Thanks, from Anna.
