Lovely little lodge perfect for our stay great location excellent views and very comfortable.

The owner has done a great job would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Perfect property, clean and high quality furnishings and bedding. Olga was very friendly and on hand to help us, if we needed ….but it is also a quiet, private and peaceful lodge. Would love to revisit.

Harry’s Lodge is in a lovely spot on a hill overlooking Chesterfield.

The Lodge is excellent, clean, comfortable and welcoming with modern facilities which all worked well. It sits within its own small enclosed paddock which our dog used. We will return.

The property was described accurately. Everything we needed for our holiday. Good position for exploring Derbyshire. Large lawn was ideal for our dogs.

So clean, cosy and everything you need to enjoy a break. Home from home, ideally located to explore the area, and wonderful dog friendly pubs and beautiful attractions to visit. Olga is a very friendly lady, and asked if everything was okay, and did we need anything? Will certainly visit again in the future.

It was a fantastic week.

We took our granddaughters and our dog. They all thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The views are gorgeous. The owners were on hand to help but we didn't need them as Harry's Lodge was perfect! We intend to return!

Finding this gem of a property has been wonderful.

We had everything we could possibly need for our stay and the owner went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. We would recommend the property to anyone and we will definitely be visiting again in the future.

A lovely stay in an ideal lodge.

Very friendly owner who welcomed us and insisted that if we needed anything then just contact her. The facilities and the views were beautiful. We will be returning.

The Lodge was meticulously clean throughout and very well equipped with everything you'd ever need.

Outside there was a lovely large garden ideal for our dog to run about on in safety. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll be definitely booking again in the future.

My fiancé and I took our two Border Collies to stay at Harry’s Lodge and wow, what a place!

On arrival, there’s ample room to park and it’s clearly signposted. The building, decking and garden is very well maintained. There’s a lock box on the post as you go through the gate to the garden and you’re told in advance what the code is to unlock it. This allows you access to a key which opens the first door to the property - the size of the lodge is deceiving from the outside as when you step through the door, there’s ample room for 4 to sit comfortably + living room + kitchen with dining table. The decor is beautiful, very modern and comfortable. The storage space is huge, you’ve got everything you need there to iron your clothes, clean up, baby chair, brolly for when it rains and so forth. There is so much detail and the owner has clearly thought a lot about what her guests may want and/or need. There are two lovely bedrooms with storage for clothing etc. there is a fab bathroom with huge shower… the view from the enclosed garden is stunning, there’s so much to do around the area for children and dogs. Both my fiancé and I agree that out of all dog “friendly” accommodation we’ve stayed in, this has been the best by far. Location, size, privacy, cleanliness, overall aesthetics … we will be booking another holiday here as 3 days didn’t seem long enough! It’s been 3 weeks since we stayed and we’ve reflected a lot, this accommodation should receive accolades for how much care and detail has gone into the property with the aim to please, you don’t get there everywhere you go - believe me! If you’ve got a couple of dogs and worried about the garden, don’t! It’s honestly fully enclosed and there’s enough space to throw balls and frisbees.

! It’s clean, modern, has everything you need and they left us a complimentary bottle of wine and biscuits. They can’t do enough for you. We take our poodles as it’s fully enclosed so it’s perfect if you have dogs. There are many trails, fields and woods around and some lovely places to eat. This is 5 stars all round!!

Lovely week in the peaks .

Harry's place was a great base to explore the surrounding area . Lovely clean comfortable accommodation the enclosed area outside was ideal for our dog to roam around . Within easy reach of shops and pubs . Can recommend the Robin Hood at Baslow 15 mins away . Superb breakfast

Roomy and well laid out. Owner lives across the drive, was very welcoming and offering any help we needed.

It is comfortable, quiet, clean and well equipped. The beds were extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this lodge.

Harry’s lodge was a perfect place for us and our two dogs who absolutely loved the enclosed field area.

The lodge is well equipped and very comfortable with an excellent view. It is very well placed to explore the Peak District. We would certainly recommend it and return ourselves in the future. The owner is lovely and very approachable if any help is required.

We had a lovely stay at Harry’s lodge and would definitely go back again.

Our dog loved the paddock attached to the lodge to run around in. The lodge itself was very clean and had all the facilities available and more. It was also in an ideal location- close by the Matlock, Bakewell and chatsworth! Beautiful views also. One thing that we did have difficulties with was the shower - the temperature was hard to get hot and would only stay hot for a small amount of time before going cold again.

Our fur babies Lucy & Luna had a grand time in the paddock, running around. The Lodge is a beautiful place, tranquil and surrounding towns are well worth visiting. Thank you for the welcome gifts, most enjoyable.

A really lovely lodge.

A modest, comfortable warm, well designed and well equipped lodge.

Easy to find and set in spectator countryside. We enjoyed two nights at Harry's lodge with our two dogs. The lodge was set in a fully fenced paddock. This was ideal as we could just open the door and let the dogs have a mooch and do their business without a lead. Would have given 5 stars but there were a couple of niggles which didn't detract from a great stay. The shower door worked just fine but was not set in the runners properly so potentially could be hazardous. Also, the mattress was a standard double and very hard. There was a topper in place so there had been an attempt to improve its comfort but I didn't sleep very well. Unfortunately the room would be too small for a king size. I realise mattresses are hard to get right as the are subjective. In spite of this, we would definitely book again, as it was ideal for the dogs and convenient for the exploring the local area, attractions and sites of interest.

Fantastic 16 day Christmas break.

Our 2nd visit to Harry's Lodge was perfect. Spotlessly clean, comfy seating and beds, good size fridge and freezer, warm and cosy, easily adjusted heating, great shower, equipped with everything you could possibly need and maintained to a high standard with parking next to the lodge . Olga goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a lovely break and is next door if needed, she has worked tirelessly to get BT to sort the Wi-Fi and I can confirm this is now sorted and working perfectly and reliably. One review mentioned road noise, we did not find this at all and slept soundly, the lodge is very well insulated and on a quiet lane. Thank you Olga for your friendliness and hospitality, we would highly recommend and will definitely return.

Lovely property lovely owner

We loved Harry’s Lodge; it was absolutely brilliant inside and the little woofers enjoyed running around.

The problem was that we were expecting it to be deep in the countryside away from fireworks. It wasn’t. That’s nothing to do with the owners - all to do with the way photographs have been taken and the way it has been marketed Sykes! My friend and my 14 yr old dog were expecting a quiet time, but with fireworks very close and a busy road close to the double bedroom, it was far from quiet. Nothing to do with you Alison - all to do with Sykes and expectations from marketing I’m afraid.

A very clean and comfortable lodge that was well thought out and tastefully decorated throughout.

Owner very friendly and helpful. Good location for visiting many places although nearer to a busy road than I had expected but the lodge very well insulated so didn’t disturb you when inside. As mentioned to the owner it would be useful if the decking area was fully gated making it secure for dogs/children. The paddock was great to have somewhere to walk the dog but not secure enough to have off lead if you have a dog that is good at escaping! Really enjoyed our stay - really comfy sofas and beds. Lovely views from the lodge - we didn’t have the weather to sit out but would be lovely if you did. Highly recommend.

A very nice cottage, ideally located for exploring some of the must do's in the Peak District.

Well kitted out and good quality of equipment. As other reviews have mentioned the WiFi is poor. No information provided about recycling or separation of rubbish, operation of heaters etc or leaving procedure for bedding & towels which would have helped.

A fabulous holiday home.

Very comfortable, warm and very clean with all the amenities and more than one could expect. The views were great and the access was good. One small issue was that the TV was very unpredictable (wi-fi issues, I think). However I would definitely recommend this accommodation. A home from home!

Could not fault the lodge at all.

the only thing that spoiled the holiday was the smart tv &wifi was rubbish,could hardly watch tv also could not work on my laptop.however i wold go back again

Everything was fresh and clean and wanted for nothing, Henry (Dalmatian) loved the paddock and spent many hours chilling on the decking.....the views are amazing on a sunny day. The only niggle we had was the WiFi which was a bit hit n miss but Olga did explain that was soon to be sorted. Thanks again and hope to come back sometime.

Simply idyllic and lovely quiet setting.

Amazing paddock for our fur babies to play in. Lodge was spotless and very well equipped. Very central to visit the surrounding areas such as Ashbourne, Dovedale, Buxton, Bakewell and Carsington Water. Only thing I would suggest that is needed in the lodge is either a sweeping brush or a vacuum. But I'm a bit if a clean freak

Lovely lodge, very remote and surrounded by nature.

Very clean well equipped. Internet signal was disappointing and couldn’t really watch TV but we enjoyed our short stay. Nice and relaxing and great location for Matlock, Bakewell and Chatsworth House and Gardens.

Harry’s Lodge was immaculate and very clean, it was very comfortable and thoughtfully decorated throughout.

The location was idyllic and very peaceful with wonderful views. The large garden was ideal for our dog to run around. We would definitely return and would highly recommend.

The Lodge had a real wow factor on arrival and can honestly find nothing that needs improvement.

TV reception and Wifi were very hit and miss.

Details of local walks, usually provided with other properties, would have been appreciated. Re ALL properties: Advanced notice of whether a ‘welcome pack’ is provided, and if so, what is included, would be helpful, in order that holiday makers have some idea what purchases are needed en route. A direct number to contact owner/manager of property would have been helpful. (They may have been able to advise on action to take to improve TV reception/wifi). Very nice property.

The owner Olga who lives next door is lovely and the perfect host. Spotlessly clean to perfection throughout , very comfy seating and beds. Everything you could possibly need is provided and of high quality. Ideal for anyone with limited mobility, lovely walk in shower. Great walks direct from the door. Excellently maintained inside and out. It was also lovely to meet Olgas son and we are looking forward to our return booked for later this year. An absolute credit to Olga. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely cosy place to stay.

Great holiday even with the rain. Perhaps having a bucket to help with muddy dog washing to help keep the lodge in its lovely condition. Thank you

The cottage was beautiful, clean, comfy and spacious, with 4 adults and 2 dogs it didn't feel cramped.

The garden was big for the dogs to move about. Location was great all the places we wanted to visit were no more than 30 minutes away. We all loved the Peak district so definitely will book Harry's Lodge again.

The lodge was great the beds were lovely and comfy the only negative was the WiFi as it wasn't very good, other than that Harry's Lodge was a very pleasant place to stay and had lovely views of Chesterfield below the valley.

Ample room for 3 adults and 2 medium sized dogs. Exceptionally clean and beds very comfortable. Paddock area great for the dogs.

Everything was 1st class, extremely comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. A real home from home. Our dogs loved the paddock to run around. One of the nicest places we have stayed in and will definitely return again.

Harry's Lodge is a stunning lodge we loved it, it was well equipped and the furnishings were top class, it's in a beautiful location and the dogs loved the big garden.

The outside of the property was actually better than the photos, the views were brilliant and inside was stunning.

The weather was bad but so snug and cosy inside made up for it..The dog loved running in the paddock accessed direct from the lounge. Consider it the nicest accommodation I have rented in 30 years.

Harrys Lodge was superbly fitted out and I can say this is the best self catering property we have ever stayed in.

There is easy access to the Derbyshire Dales and places like Chatsworth House. The only slight niggle we had was that connection to the internet was patchy and this did affect the smart TV and my laptop but I am sure this could be easily rectified. Dont let this put you off a fantastic property in a lovely quiet spot only a 10 minute drive from the bustling towns of Matlock and Chesterfield

Myself, Shirley and our dog Copper had a wonderful week at Harry's Lodge.

We were made very welcome by Olga who had left fresh flowers, bottle of wine, chocolates and biscuits on the table plus milk in the fridge. Everything was exceptional, comfy beds and furniture, and so well equipped and absolutely spotless. The lodge is ideally situated in idealic surroundings and close to places to visit. Copper had such good fun having a whole paddock to play in. The lodge is without doubt the best holiday accomodation that we have ever experienced. Many thanks to Olga, Harry and Shaun. We have already recommended the lodge to friends and would love to return sometime in the future. Clary, Shirley and Copper.

We turned up at Harry’s Lodge not really knowing what to expect.

We we’re met by a lovely lady called Olga who owned the Lodge.Bless her she was so kind and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us she was on call 24 hours a day The lodge itself was amazing spotlessly clean and very modern we were the 4th lot of guests in from brand new it also had a lovely little paddock that my little dog loved.I cannot speak highly enough of these people Olga andMegan who made our holiday so special,I would say though you do need a car to get about but Thankyou again ladies and for the lovely welcome gift which was very much appreciated. Couldn’t fault a thing.

The lodge was so clean and tastefully furnished. Olga provided a very generous welcome pack for us and our dog Ella. Stunning views from the lounge. Can’t wait to come again.

We had a fantastic stay, the lodge was beautiful, everything finished to the highest standard, comfortable just like home from home.

The gifts left for us and the dog were lovely, amazing view the owners were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us it was lovely to meet Olga, Harry and shaun.. places to visit was just a short drive away, and the pub The Kelstedge did amazing food and were very friendly. We will definitely be going back :)

Lovely lodge with amazing views.

Clean and cosy and very comfortable beds. Ideal for exploring the Peak District and the owner is very helpful and friendly. Our boxer loved the garden and luckily didn’t see any of the wild rabbits visiting. Supermarkets are 9 minutes away in the car with a Farm shop even nearer. Would highly recommend.
