Beautiful Lodge lovely very clean rooms and kitted out with everything you need.

Bathrooms are both stunning. Kitchen beautiful and very well kitted out. Fabulous outdoor space with lovely garden furniture and BBQ. Dyson fan was a great help during the heatwave of bank Holiday week. This was our 2nd visit to the Lodge and it didn't disappoint again. Nice to see horses and other wildlife. We had a family of Pheasants with 3 little ones. A lovely relaxing holiday.

This property is fantastic, a hidden gem.

It was spacious and spotlessly clean with everything you would need and more. It is so thoughtfully equipped with everything high spec. One of our party had to work and we were so appreciative of the wifi and dressing area which doubled as a desk. Loved the tv in the bathroom! We were so comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely views and access to many lovely places like Bakewell, Matlock and Grassmoor country park. We enjoyed watching the horses and Lucy the cocker spaniel had a great time and enjoyed the sniffs. The short walk to the park was great. Of course we have booked again! Fabulous!

We had an excellent week-long stay at the lodge and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The lodge was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing break. The surroundings were peaceful and scenic, making it the perfect place to unwind. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and the cozy atmosphere throughout the lodge. We would highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway and would happily return again in the future.

A great location and lodge.

Very comfortable and cosy with everything you need for a great week. We have just had a great time. I would recommend this lodge to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Peak district.

Fantastic property, always spotlessly clean and well maintained.

Warm and comfortable and lots of walks for our two dogs, This was our fourth holiday and has everything we could possibly want. Within easy distance of Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth.

We had a lovely week at stables lodge .

Initially the property is hard to find and is down a steep driveway. Inside it is very well appointed and was warm and comfortable with everything you could n need. We found the induction hob hard to use , probably because we’re not used to them. We had one problem with the oven but it was sorted out as quickly as possible with jo, one of the owners. The view from the back of the property is lovely, even in winter in the rain.

Wonderful setting, fantastic holiday home.

They’ve thought of everything you may need ( including the dog). Really comfy beds and everything explained in the manual. Lots of lovely walks and really recommend Highfield House cafe and farm shop.

So clean. Easy dog walks direct from lodge. Easy routes to lots of attractions. Plenty of storage for food: we just put extra crockery in the sideboard for the duration of our stay. Dogs preferred dog beds provided to their own. Spectacular views and sunsets.

Enjoyed it so much we booked again for next year ... twice !! Can't wait.

The property was clean and with lovely views.

Unfortunately the facilities provided were not up to usual standard having stayed with you several times. The lodge was 2 bedroom 1 double and 1 single beds. However only the double was made up. Tel owner they would send cleaner to do this. Then us back to say cleaner on holiday. Could we do it. They said they thought only 2 people coming. I pointed out that we may have wanted to sleep in single bed or separately, however we were expecting some friends to come and they may decide to stay one night. I pointed that there was no bedding i.e. sheets etc for us to make up the bed with. They sent us the combination lock to the chest for us to do it. There were also no bin liners in the bins in the either bathroom. No hand wash in the, the kitchen. The one in the bathroom had virtually run out. The tissue box by the bed had two tissues in it. This took the shine of the property. However unfortunately I was taken fairly serious ill on the Sunday night Monday morning I had to be rushed home for urgent treatment. So did not get to enjoy any more of our stay. We did inform the owners that we were leaving. We would not want to return to this property. That does not mean we will not use Sykes again we have always had very good treatment from them.

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday at this gorgeous Lodge- very clean, beautifully decorated with the most stunning views at the front over endless fields.

Evenings outside were spent listening to the horses, sheep, cows and birdsong. A very good base for exploring the area- highlights included Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall, Ashbourne, Matlock, Leek , Poole Caverns Would highly recommend.

We had the most wonderful stay at Stables Lodge.

I stayed here with my bridesmaids to prepare for my wedding day and it was the perfect ‘bridal suite’ for getting ready on the morning of. The lodge itself is very well equipped, it is spacious, modern and has excellent amenities. The setting and view is absolutely spectacular, seeing the countryside and horses from the nearby stable was a delight each morning. Highly recommend, can’t wait to go back!

High end finish with all you could wish for in a property in terms of items provided for your stay. There is nothing that needs changing to be honest.

We had a fantastic holiday at the Lodge.

All the facilities were spot on and were better than expected. The outdoor space was brilliant for our dogs and kids. Super location as a base to explore the Peak district. The local woods were also lovely to walk around and easy to get to with minimal road walking involved. Looking forward to coming back next year.

This is a luxurious lodge in a beautiful location.

It has amazing decor and was so cosy and comfortable to stay in. We loved watching the horses frolic and the birds swooping and diving. There are so many local walks and things to do in the area. The complimentary fizz, biscuits and milk were a lovely touch.

Fantastic lodge, fantastic views, really clean, humans and dogs are very well catered for.

We had such an amazing stay and you could not ask for anything else at the lodge it was stunning, well equipped, super clean.

Loved by humans and dogs alike. Sitting on the deck in the evening sun was glorious!

What a fantastic holiday location!

It was our first visit to the Peak District and we loved it. The accommodation was excellent. The view was beautiful, and everything within the lodge had been thought of. After a long journey the complimentary pint of milk was hugely appreciated to enjoy a cuppa while settling in. Some great walks right on the doorstep for our morning walkies with the dogs too. I am sure we will be back at some point. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Absolutely beautiful lodge, spotless clean.

Lovely welcome pack. We enjoyed the welcome from Charlie and Teazel (horses) too, beautiful creatures and a delight to watch.

On arriving we found Stable lodge to be very homely & exceptionally clean.

It had absolutely everything we could need & very comfortable. Amazing views & it was lovely having the horses as our neighbours Charlie & Tweasel. Amenities close by & days out not far too. Would defiantly recommend.

The lodge met all our expectations, immaculate and comfortable.

The property does not claim to be disabled accessible but I thought from the photos we could make it work. Access is from a gravel drive to the rear of the property then up five steps which I didn't realise at the time of booking. Using a wheelchair on the gravel was impossible which meant we couldn't go for a walk from the property, we had to use the car. It needs to be made clear that access is up five steps so that client's can make an informed decision on suitability. There was also traffic noise on the weekend but this calmed down during the week. Having said that, the lodge itself is lovely and recommended. The gifts were much appreciated, thank you.

Excellent property, clean , comfortable and very well equipped .

It is conveniently situated and enjoys superb views over the valley . However, the steep gravel drive with its sharp bend was difficult to negotiate with a large car .

The property was extremely well equipped, clean, warm and very comfortable. Everything was to a high standard and we would definitely recommend the property to others and stay again ourselves. The views were beautiful and it made for a very relaxing stay. We were lucky to have mild weather and the location was perfect for dog walking and visiting nearby places. Another wonderful stay at Stables Lodge.

Lovely treats and a welcome bottle of milk and Prosecco in the fridge on arrival. Spotlessly clean, warm and cosy with a fantastic view onto open fields and horses. There is even dogs beds, dishes and towels for the dogs. Everything has been thought of. The lodge was perfect for us, my elderly mother and our two dogs, it has every facility needed for an easy stress free holiday. We were able to venture further afield this time and visited the Bird cafe at Hathersage, where the cafe has seats next to a window with a variety of birds and the odd squirrel feeding outside. A joy to see. Castleton and Winnats pass is always spectacular and the weather was kind to us. We would love to return for another lovely holiday.

Fantastic lodge, extremely well maintained and spotlessly clean.

This is by far the best property we have ever stayed in. Warm and comfortable and everything you need provided, all of extremely high quality. Felt at home as soon as we arrived.

We chose Stables lodge because it was near family to celebrate my Mother's 100th birthday.

With two superb en suite bedrooms, an open plan kitchen and sitting room, the lodge and its location is perfect for us and my partially sighted mother. Spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable, lovely decor, good quality crockery and utensils and a fantastic view . With countryside to explore on the doorstep and local pubs and Spar shop nearby, it is a very convenient gem. As a birthday treat, we went to Matlock Farm Park. The staff were wonderful and could not do enough for us as it was a special occasion and we had a wonderful, if wet, day. My Mother absolutely loved the Wallabies, Meerkats, guinea pigs and rabbits. On the first evening at Stables Lodge we had snow, which caused a short term access problem because of the short steep drive but was solved quickly by using the nearby stable's shovels, with permission from the lovely Claire. Thank you. We had such a lovely time we are looking forward to coming back in January, again with my 100 year old Mother and our two dogs, when we will have more time to explore the area.

Stayed at Stables Lodge with friends.

Photographs of the property were so inviting, but when we arrived it was even better. What a gem of a property, in lovely surroundings. Its location is central to the many of the Peak Districts wonderful towns and villages. The property had everything and more of what you needed and was spotlessly clean. We were lucky with the weather, although it was very cold, Stables Lodge provided all the warmth we needed, and even dealt with a scattering of snow midweek. Beds were extremely comfortable as were the sofas in the lounge. With two bathrooms, it was perfect for two couples, and we were totally impressed with the TV in the main bathroom. Thank you Owners for leaving the welcome treats of Prosecco and biscuits, it was such a kind treat. Would totally recommend this property to anyone, and we really do hope that we will return in the near future.

This is a beautiful property, equipped with everything you need and all of a very high standard, we would love to return one day.

Fabulous lodge.

Beautifully appointed, with all we needed for a cosy and comfortable week (the weather was shocking!) The extras provided, such as dog beds and treats, as well as fizz, milk and biscuits were a lovely touch. The bed was the comfiest I have ever had in holiday accommodation. The Lodge location was perfect, with in easy reach of local amenities and places to visit, but felt so peaceful and secluded. Plenty of walks nearby for dogs and humans alike. We loved it and have already recommended to friends! Thank you.

The lodge was of a very high specification and ideally situated for access across the Peak District .

The window views of the valley were stunning . We would most definitely use this property again . Five stars .

Absolutely wonderful lodge, we had a great time.

We had an exceptionally hot week, so the only thing that is missing is air conditioning, or really good fans. But full credit to you, great place, and we will definitely be staying again.

Everything we needed and more. Very clean, comfortable and secluded with great views. Close to places to visit and close to pubs for dinner, if you don’t feel like cooking. We’d return. Thanks for a good stay.

Fantastic time spent at the Stables Lodge it was so secluded with only the fields and the horses to look at so very relaxing which is just what we needed, and yet in easy reach of all the local towns and villages to visit.

The Barley Mow and Smithy Pond pubs are both in easy walking distance so we visited both of these a couple of times during our stay and the food was good value for money. We also visited the Hunloke Arms which was amazing and although a bit more expensive was well worth a visit.

The property is great and has everything you need for your stay.

I took my elderly mother and it was ideal. My little dog was safe and secure. The only thing that needs a little attention is the decking. There was at least one nail sticking out which I caught my foot on. It didn't hurt me but possibly could. I would certainly recommend the stables as a holiday home.

The lodge and location are both lovely, we really enjoyed the week we had there.

In an ideal world the property would benefit AC to the bedrooms but appreciate the expense could be too much to bare. As an alternative I would suggest secure restrictors on the windows to allow windows to be left open without fear of intrusion, although I appreciate given the area this is unlikely. It's a shame the large bedroom windows don't open which would allow some through ventilation, it might be worth fitting trickle vents to these windows which would help a little. That's said, lovely lodge which I'm sure we will revisit in the future. Best Wishes Jason & Nicki

First class. The view alone would make it 5*. Clean, comfy and relaxing. Two pus serving good food within easy walking distance. We hope to go back. Would highly recommend.

We loved Stables lodge.

The property was extremely well presented and despite accepting dogs did not have a ‘doggy’ odour! It was great having 2 en-suite bedrooms, especially as we were on holiday with friends. Initially we were surprised that we were directly off a village road as we had thought the property would be more rural, however it was easy access to everywhere we wanted to go and once inside the house the lovely view and open aspect felt like you were in the countryside. The outside area seems to be in the process of having some landscaping done and I’m sure will be lovely once completed. This didn’t affect the decking area which was great to enjoy our G&T’s and watch the spectacular sunsets.

..what a fantastic location. The accommodation is great, everything you want and need. ...the bath is superb! Stables lodge is a lovely property with great views of the dales.

It was warm on chilly days also the beds & sofas were very comfortable making the stay relaxing after exploring the beautiful countryside ( beware Derbyshires potholes, phew those roads aren’t great) The only thing we were not able to tell from the photos of the property was accessibility for anyone with walking problems, one of our group struggled a bit with the steps! Apart from that 10/10 We would highly recommended this lodge

Fantastic property, exceptionally clean and well maintained.

Everything you could need is provided and top quality. Warm and comfortable. Amazing views. Possibly the best we have ever stopped in. It was quite icy on the drive and very steep, glad that we had a four wheel drive vehicle.

Fabulous Modern (super clean) Lodge with everything you could possibly need and more.

.. Location was just perfect for our Holiday, we visited Matlock, Bakewell, Chatsworth, Castleton and Clumber Park the furthest being only 40 minutes away. Even though the weather was a bit Wet (it is November!!!) the Lodge was so Cosy we didn’t mind a jot!!! Stables Lodge is definitely 5***** - See you in the Spring

Loved this property.

So well equipped. The owners have done a great job of setting up a home from home. Wingerford is ideally situated to get into the Peak District National Park. Bakewell is a must, as is Thornbridge Brewery (just out of town). Walkers will like the various walks associated with the Monsal Trail.

Just spent an absolutely fantastic week at Stables Lodge.

Literally didn’t want to leave. What a wonderful peaceful place. The beautiful horses in the field was an added bonus. The Barley Mow pub just down the road does delicious home cooked food. The steak and fish is to die for. Dogs had a great time walking through the forest. Lots of nice walks nearby. Hoping to come back again soon.

extremely clean, very high standard and lovely welcome gifts: wine, biscuits and milk in the fridge was a nice touch. I loved the decking area- had breakfast out there and was a fab place to sit in the evening, catching the eveing sun. Would definitely reccomend and book this very cottage again,

Hi this was the first time I have stayed in a lodge and certainly won't be the last this place is amazing,every thing perfect, the lodge itself could not be faulted, we took 2dogs and the garden was very secure definitely a plus for me.

This has to be a 5***** destination for my wife and I in the future
