Enveloped by stunning countryside views with a private fishing lake, this holiday home makes a fantastic base for couples looking to visit Shropshire and has pet-friendly features.
Inside the studio, you’ll find a well-presented open-plan living space with a fully-fitted kitchen, dining area which seats up to two, and a double bed with Smart TV, ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the local area.

Outside, you will find an enclosed front garden patio with furniture, and a private fishing lake where you can enjoy fishing in the well stocked coarse fishing pool, as well as panoramic meadow views.
The area is renowned for its medieval architecture, historic sites, and castle ruins, and is home to a plethora of rated shops and eateries, including Etzio, Docket No 33, and The Horse and Jockey pub restaurant, all worth a visit.
This delightful village is just a short drive away from Ellesmere, where you can explore plenty of popular tourist attractions.
Visit the National Trust mansions and gardens, stroll along Grindley Brook Locks, enjoy a canal boat trip at Whitchurch Marina, and experience outdoor watersports activities including Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), Kayaking, Canoeing, and Wild Swimming at Alderfest Lake.
Further afield is Chester, a vibrant city that is home to some of the most impressive architecture and history in the UK.
The spectacular Chester Cathedral is a must-see, as is The Grosvenor Museum and Chester Zoo, and the city also boasts a number of lovely parks and gardens, including the Chester Roman Gardens, which is perfect for a summer stroll.

Really fanatic find.
Plenty of space for the dog to roam freely and safely as we chilled in the hot tub. Clean, well presented accommodation. Would definitely consider staying again and would highly recommend this place to others.
Absolutely loved here.
The hosts and family were so lovely. We have never booked to go to the same place twice ever but loved this place so much we’re going back next year. It was my foster dogs dream she absolutely loved her own field to play all day and night and loved it even more when the hosts dogs came to play aswell. The hut has everything you want in it so well thought out and totally clean. Much needed rest for us.
What an amazing stay we had!
Everybody was so friendly and welcoming in the most beautiful setting. We have a large dog who had so much room to run around in a secured area. Unfortunately the weather was at an extreme heat making the cabin extremely hot however there is a fan which came in very helpful. With being in a secure location at the back of the farm we felt totally safe to keep all windows and even the door open. The hot tub was a perfect touch too. A brilliant break with brilliant hosts. Extremely clean and a beautiful little get away! Highly recommend! Xx

Jan, Paul and Aaron are wonderful hosts.
They were so accommodating and friendly! The property somehow feels bigger than in the pictures. It’s beautifully kept with nice touches including underfloor heating, a small tv on the wall beside the bed, and a range of dog bowls - perfect for a solo getaway with my golden retriever. Cooking options are a bit limited with just two small rings on the electric hob and similarly small pans, but aside from this I can’t fault the place. It was so quiet and peaceful and my dog loved being able to roam freely in the enclosed garden exploring and basking in the sun. She loved jumping off the deck into the fishing pond too! Hawkstone Follies, a 10 minute drive, is a lovely way to spend an afternoon for adults and kids alike, exploring the countryside with plenty to see along the route including caves, woodlands and fantastic views! I had planned to do lots whilst visiting but I mostly ended up unwinding at the hut because it was so calm and peaceful. The sunset through the bedroom window is perfect. A must-stay if you need some R&R!
Absolutely loved our stay at the Oak Hut.
The property was very clean and tidy, well equipped and comfortable. Our dog loved all the space to run around, and we were relaxed knowing the whole area was fenced in, so our dog couldn’t escape. The family were lovely and friendly too. We will definitely be back Lorraine, Martin and Baxter
Paul and Jan, have the perfect hideaway.
In your own field with only the birds for company the oak hut is ideal. Just 15 miles from Shrewsbury and 20 from Chester everything is to hand. Hot tub is an added bonus
Stayed here for two nights beginning of June, planned to arrive later than the check in time due to work but owners more than accommodated for this.
They were both very helpful directing after we got lost on the way. Upon arrival everything was spotlessly clean and tidy and very well equipped, we even found phone chargers, lighters (even though we don’t smoke) and pens. Hot tub is just gorgeous. The actual hut is very cosy, the underfloor heating was lovely to walk on and the bed was very comfortable. Small but perfectly formed, we had a relaxing and quiet weekend. Also a quick mention for the beautiful horses, they really are wonderful. Thank you so much for having us both!!!

We visited for my partners birthday and the owners went out of their way to put up birthday banners, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the day feel really special. The atmosphere is cosy, peacful and welcoming, perfect for a quiet getaway! The property owners are lovely, very friendly and accommodating. Stayed for 2 nights over the weekend with my 11 year old grandson and the dog.
What a little gem this place is. As I have a German shepherd the large fenced off paddock around the hut was perfect. It has everything you need and the hot tub is perfect. We had amazing weather so waking up and looking at nature while having a coffee was perfect. The owners are really friendly and accommodating. Sorry for the long post but I can’t say enough positives about it b

The place is incredibly peaceful—perfect for unwinding and escaping the hustle of everyday life. The hut is cosy and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could need, and more. The bed is wonderfully soft, making it easy to get a full night’s sleep. The grounds are beautifully maintained and ideal if you enjoy a bit of fishing. The owners were absolutely lovely—so friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Waking up each morning to such stunning views was truly special. Thank you as well for the fresh eggs and milk—it was such a thoughtful touch. If you’re looking to explore, Corbet Woods is fantastic. The views from the top are breathtaking, and it’s a perfect spot to spend a few peaceful hours. Hopefully be returning in the near future.

We had the most wonderful stay at The Oak Hut in Shropshire.
From the moment we arrived, it truly felt like a home from home. The hut itself is spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxing break. One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub – perfect for unwinding while enjoying the peaceful rural surroundings. The setting is so private and tranquil that it really feels like a hidden paradise tucked away in the countryside. Paul and Jan are excellent hosts who go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. They are warm, welcoming, and clearly take great pride in making guests feel comfortable. We also loved the large, very safe dog-friendly field, which was ideal for letting our dog run freely and enjoy the space. It made the stay even more special knowing our dog was just as happy as we were. The location is fantastic too, with so many lovely places to visit in the surrounding area, yet it still feels wonderfully secluded and rural. Firstly I would like to show my appreciation for how helpful, generous and accommodating the owners were during our stay lovely place close to a couple of nice towns where can eat and drink, also during our stay we visited Shrewsbury prison which is only 25 mins away.

We had a lovely stay at the Oak Hut.
It was just what we needed - peaceful, but luxurious and in easy reach of lots of lovely things to see and do during the day before going back to the hot tub in the evening. Our lively border collie loved the enclosed garden, he had lots of room to run and play. Would definitely recommend!

The accommodation in the hut is amazing and well thought out.
Has everything you need and great quality and clean. Private area, the hosts are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend for a couples retreat. We enjoyed a lovely week, the hosts were very attentive giving us a brief demonstration of the property and hot tub.
The hot tub was warmed up daily for us to use anytime from 3pm onwards. It was a beautiful setting with sheep, horses, chickens and a large pond on site. The property was clean and tidy and we have already recommended to friends and family.

The hut was the ideal place to get away from the hassle and bussell of general daily living.
Peaceful with a huge paddock for the dogs. The hut had everything you needed with underfloor heating which was great we were there in November and were warm . Hosts were lovely and friendly.

Paul and Jan were absolutely fantastic hosts, they were incredibly welcoming and couldn'd do enough for us.
They even gave us a lift to the pub and lent me a coat when I realised I had forgotten mine! The hut is lovely and cosy and the hot tub was fantastic. The enclosed paddock was brilliant for our dog to explore without being able to escape. Would definitely return, thanks again

Had a lovely break and overall really pleased.
Paul was very helpful and friendly as were his family. We were lovely and warm for the whole stay and plenty of logs for the hot tub which was great. Wi-Fi great too. Only concern was the door was very hard to shut at the bottom and needs attention. Would be happy to stay again. Thank you!!

We had an amazing stay and the hosts are wonderful.
The cabin was warm and everything was thought of in regards to what you will need for your stay. The area around the cabin was enclosed with plenty of room for our dog to run around and explore as well.

Perfect peaceful spot for a solo traveller and dog.
We felt very welcome by Paul, his family and many friendly animals! Gorgeous hut with everything you need for a quiet relaxing break. Super comfy bed. Very dog friendly with treats and bowls provided and a safe enclosed field which my dog loved. Lots of dog friendly places nearby to explore, all within a short drive. The air fryer was a bonus as I like to self cater. And there's a great choice of supermarkets just up the road in Whitchurch for supplies. We had a great week. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay.
Oak Hut is such a calming & relaxing beautiful spot. Paul & Jan were the perfect hosts, very helpful and friendly. Jan gave us a lift into Whitchurch (which is very charming) and picked us up again after our meal. Thank you once again! The hut is very comfortable, well equipped and was spotless. This was such an unexpected joy!
Paul & Jan could not have done more to make our stay absolutely perfect. Jan even offered a lift to and from the pub! The huge garden is fully enclosed and the dog was free to roam to his heart's content. The hut is equipped with everything you could possibly need and some lovely thoughtful touches. (Thank you for the Prosecco!)The hot tub is glorious and Paul kept the logs topped up from morning to night. Such a beautiful, peaceful spot. Do not look anywhere else, book it!
What an absolutely memorial stay.
Beautiful surroundings, stunning little cabin, perfect amenities. Just couldn't of wished for better. Paul and Jenny were the perfect hosts. Wonderful and friendly, helpful in every way possible. Just a delight all round. The photos and description simply don't do this the justice it deserves. We came for Hubby's birthday as a surprise for him, and even I was surprised by the picturesque beauty this little gem has to offer. Thank you both for allowing us into your little slice of paradise. Oak Hut is in a lovely, peaceful location.
It is comfortable, warm and well appointed. The outside decking area and hot tub are obviously the star of the show however! The hosts were superb, so welcoming and attentive. Really going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I highly recommend a visit here.

Really enjoyed our stay, very peaceful, extremely tranquil setting.
Property owners Paul and Jan couldn't do enough for us. Hot tub was extremely clean and has spectacular view of the sunset. The Oak Hut was spotlessly clean and had everything you need for a perfect stay. If we could have taken the bed home with us, we would have, it was that comfy. This is the place to go if you want a beautiful setting to watch the sunrise and sunset. The place is amazing.

An idyllic setting.
Lovely rural views. Very peaceful and secluded yet not far to an excellent pub/restaurant. Very comfortable and extremely well furnished and cozy warm, even in the coldest night of the year so far !! Very well thought out layout with everything you could need. Everything maintained to the highest standard. The icing on the cake being Jan and Paul the most excellent and friendliest of hosts . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
We were unlucky that we chose a weekend with a very bad storm meaning it was difficult to leave the hut. However, as its so accommodating it didn't matter much. They have thought of everything to ensure you are comfortable (even if you get trapped in!). The owner Paul couldn't do enough for us and was very attentive. We will definitely be back in the Summer!

Our stay at the Oak Hut was perfect.
The hosts Jan and Paul are super welcoming and very helpful. We loved the beautiful, peaceful surroundings and the sheeps, horses and dogs in the surrounding paddocks were so fun to watch. The hut is cosy, clean and has everything you need. It's also easily accessible and close to nearby towns and attractions. A highlight for us was watching the sunset from the hot tub. We took our small dog and the property is completely secure and fenced in so we could let him off leash which was great. The hut also provided treats and pet bowls which is a thoughtful touch. It's nice to stay in a dog-friendly property that actually cares about dogs! Overall a great experience and we would return in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Amazing place to stay have been twice now - the owners were so accommodating with a heath problem following an operation that I had as well.
Very friendly and amazingly clean - they even cleaned and refilled the hot tub mid week during our stay which was great. Nothing seemed too much trouble.

Me and my partner stayed at the oak hut back in July and it was more than we even imagined!
The owners were so accommodating, the cabin itself was so clean and cosy with a bottle of wine and croissants on arrival with fresh eggs from their own chickens also. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone for a little getaway.

The place was spotless and absolutely perfect for a quiet chilled holiday with your dog.
The hosts couldn’t do enough for us & even delivered our takeaway to the cabin. Fishing lake well stocked but don’t do what I did I take big carp set up, defo catch a lot course fishing tho & some breeds of fish I’ve never seen in person before. Defo recommend tho wish we had a few more days well worth the money

Jan and Paul (and family) are wonderful people and they did everything possible to make our stay so wonderful. The oak hut is beautifully presented with lots of amazing finishing touches. The hot tub is fantastic and so relaxing. The hut is in a perfect location - we went to Alderford Lake and had a great few hours there. The hut is private and so peaceful. Beautiful surroundings. What can we say other then absolutely spot on!
The cabin itself was cosy with everything you needed with a beautiful setting. The garden outside was lovely and spacious with more then enough room for our dog to roam around. The owners and the people who work there couldn't do enough for us, extremely kind and very thoughtful; making sure our hot tub was hot through the day for the evening. The fishing pond was stocked with plenty of fish including some lovely carp that was alot of fun to catch. 10/10 would definitely stay again!

What an amazing cottage, site is lovely so peaceful with the 2 horses and 3 sheep as neighbours.
Lovely owners and so welcoming lovely to chat to them over the few days we spent there. Hot tub was a nice touch. The cottage was amazing lovely clean and the bed was so comfortable. Will definitely be returning.

Words can't begin to describe how amazing our stay was! We chose this beautiful location to share our first anniversary together and it was perfect from our arrival to our departure! Jan and Paul went above and beyond to make our stay what it was, a beautiful thoughtful couple! The hut is sublime and the hot tub out of this world. Such a quiet area. Meeting the extended family and their furbabies was a pleasure! We will be back!
This place is such a hidden gem, it’s perfect for anyone wanting to get away from a busy life and just relax.
Our only regret is that we didn’t book in for longer. Paul and Jan were so friendly and really gave us a warm welcome. They even offered to drop / pick us up from the local pub which I thought was lovely as that’s really going the extra mile. Hot tub was amazing, little rabbits in the field opposite running around, such a quiet and private place. Very cosy, me and my partner will definitely be returning. Thank you!

The Oak Hut was amazing, the hut itself was clean, warm and comfortable with everything you need for a simple stay.
The walk we took the dog on in the area was lovely and peaceful despite a lot of it being flooded. The hot tub was fantastic and relaxing. The way the garden has been secured so dogs can't get out was the best part for us, out dog can be reactive at times so we have to be cautious where we walk her so knowing she could just run around in our own private area was the best part for us. We will definitely be back, thank you for a wonderful relaxing stay.

A truly lovely hut set in a beautiful location I really enjoyed my weeks stay here.
The hut is so clean cosy and warm with all the facilities you ever need including the hot tub,Paul and Jan are so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for me. Could not compliment the whole experience enough.
The weather was awful but Paul and Jan could not have tried harder to make our stay as perfect as they could. From giving us lifts back from the local pub to constantly sending firewood across the paddock for the hot tub! We will be coming back again without a doubt, a perfect three night break!

The cabin was fabulous- decked out with underfloor heating, electricity, WiFi, a comfy bed and of course the hot tub.
Made for a great cozy winter stay. Owners were absolutely brilliant aswell, made us feel really welcome and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for our little trip away.

Lovely cosy hut with lots of land for our dog to roam around.
Really comfortable bed and extremely clean. There was a new hot tub with an additional £15 cost for logs to heat which we thoroughly enjoyed using. One of our favourite holidays, would highly recommend.

As you know the wood fired Hot tub was a late addition and whilst we waited to have the listing updated we charged for the firewood. This short trip was faultless throughout, we are only sad that we had to leave but we are already looking ahead to when we can book next, only for longer next time!
We couldn’t find anything to moan about even if we tried, the hut is stylish and very comfortable, the land is beautiful and peaceful, the fishing was brilliant and the fish were immaculate! and the owners are lovely people! From the very friendly hello to the goodbye we felt very welcome and looked after. The whole family felt like good friends. Our 3 little dogs had the time of their lives too running around the fields and watching the horses and sheep! The owners have been so thoughtful when creating this little gem, the kitchen had everything we could have needed to use, it was stocked with everything from washing up liquid to poo bags. We cant wait to go back and we have lovely memory's of our first trip to the oak hut! Thankyou!!

Had a fantastic stay here at the Oak Hut.
Myself, partner, a dog stayed for three nights; beautiful property with a lovely welcoming family. Paul was great and nothing was too much trouble. Our little dog had the best time - massive fenced lawn for her to run around and play. We loved the horses, sheep, and four Labradors that greeted us throughout the day. Cabin was very modern, bed extremely comfortable, and had all the mod-cons. Property also had a lake which you could sit by during the sunset. Shops about a ten minute drive, with a lovely pub just down the road. If you want a break from the madness of life, book here. Literally no complaints. We’ve never felt so peaceful - we’ll definitely be back!
