Cabin at the Tavern

We only stayed for one night as being older people ( late 70’s ) it was too small for us and a border collie.

The property looked very nice and the owner couldn’t have been more helpful even though he was very busy with the restaurant side of his very popular business.

The accomodation was better than expected.

I'd advise booking meals in the tavern, it's busy for a reason. The food & service are excellent.

We loved the Cabin - very cosy and the surrounding area is so peaceful.

It is a little tardis and had enough space for us and our wee Yorkie. The bed is so very comfortable, the shower is fantastic and plenty of crockery/cutlery available. The pub is great; fantastic food, warm and super friendly staff. We were so grateful for the wonderful Christmas dinner provided by the lovely owners. Very happy to spend the week there and enjoyed visiting places in Perthshire and Fife. We would love to return in the summer months to see the area again and sit on the lovely veranda listening to the birds - of which there are plenty. Fantastic time!

The cabin is a great place to stay.

It is cosy and has everything you need. It is located behind The Ardler Tavern which serves delicious food. All staff are friendly, polite and welcoming. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back!!

It is an amazing location away from the hustle and bustle of a city where you can unwind after a long day of viewing the beauty of northern Scotland.

We were given a very warm welcome upon arrival by Alan.

The Cabin is small but had everything we needed, the fridge wasn’t working when we arrived but Alan quickly sorted that out for us, the cleaning lady had switched it off at the back as she didn’t think the cabin was occupied that week. We ate at The Tavern a couple of times and the food was excellent also the staff. The cabin is very central to many sites of interest especially as we are members of Historic houses and National Trust. Glamis castle a short ride away is amazing and well worth a visit. All in all we had a lovely week in Bonny Scotland.

Would recommend the cabin without hesitation.

Great part of Scotland to visit. Lots of lovely wee villages nearby. And from Alyth there are regular buses to Dundee for day trips. Very compact, so not a lot of storage for clothes. Pub also does lunches and evening meals. I really enjoyed the cabin and the surrounding area.

This was the second time we had stayed at the Cabin.

If you like walking, peace and quiet and enjoy amazing food this is definitely the place for you. Our dog Millie also loves her time here. Unfortunately we couldn't stay as long as we'd booked for as my daughter had passed away a few weeks before and I just felt I wanted to be back at home. Hopefully we will be back next year. I would definitely recommend a break away here and thank you Allan for the strawberries, tablet and shortbread a lovely treat. Jackie, George and wee Millie x

The property was perfect for the week except the size of the shower.

Clean, WiFi, parking provided, outdoor seating, hosts were lovely, friendly and accommodating. My partner is a tall, big person and struggled with the size of the shower cubicle otherwise

Cabin compact but with all the amenities. Very dog friendly. Ardler Tavern serves excellent food. Highly recommended.

Lovely week at Cabin at the Tavern.

Ok it's small but everything you need. Host attentive and very helpful and strawberries a very welcome treat.

Perfect for short stays with one medium dog.

Excellent hosting, very friendly and helpful. Could do with a little TLC on minor maintenance items. Food on site was excellent hence the Tavern is always busy and definitely need to book early if you want to eat in. Overall met our needs with plenty to do in the area especially if you like a good walk.

Alan was a great host and was very friendly and attentive.

Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the pub was AMAZING, we ate there three times and it was sensational all three times. the staff were very friendly and attentive. The location was great with lovely dog walks around the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and Alan and Clare were very hospitable and kind.

I was very impressed with the food and even though the pub was closed on Christmas Day Christmas dinner was brought to the cabin as a kind gesture, which was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed a lot of local walks and sightseeing luckily with decent weather. Thanks for our enjoyable week, I would recommend.

The Tavern was a great place to eat, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. It is an ideal base for a holiday with plenty to do nearby. Would definitely recommend a visit.

A great place to stay with a pub on the doorstep literally!

That serves really great food with extremely attentive staff. The cabin itself has a good selection of items for self catering if one wishes to do this, however I would mention that there is only a microwave hob and grill if you want to cook. The bed that pulls down is surprisingly very comfortable. The welcome pack that included strawberry’s was a real treat. The cabin is a compact unit that has all one needs for a base to explore the surrounding countryside. All in all I can say we really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend most highly.

Great little cabin had everything well maintained with fantastic owners

We have just returned from a five day stay at the Cabin.

The owner and staff were all very hospitable and nothing was too much bother. The cabin was spotless, well equipped and ideal for our stay. The small enclosed garden was perfect for our dog Millie. We ate at the Tavern most nights, the food was amazing and reasonably priced and Millie was made very welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks in the surrounding area. We had such a good time that we've booked again for the same time next year.

I had a very enjoyable stay.

The cabin maybe compact but it was very comfortable and well equipped. It smelt fresh on arrival and was spotlessly clean, which is very important. It was good to know you were nearby should I need assistance and thank you for your daily friendly hellos. The only thing I think would improve the cabin is a mirror near the electrical sockets so you can see to blow dry your hair. Thank you for a great stay.

Great location with the pub and so many walks nearby. I thought the planning of a small area around the cabin where dogs could be off lead was a really nice touch.

The cabin was perfect for our holiday the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in and the hosts were very accommodating.

The Tavern was very welcoming and the food was the best we’ve had on any of our holidays, finally our dogs loved it too.

What a fantastic holiday we had,, not only was the property lovely, the meals in the tavern were so good we ate there most nights, as for the owners and staff,we have never came across such a friendly bunch of people.

The property is in a great location lovely and quiet had no problems.

The Tavern is fantastic the staff really helpful and polite we went twice and both meals were really tasty and wonderful definately recommend. Staff were excellent and the owner Alex ( or was it Alec ?

) extremely helpful. The food at the inn was great value so much so you are best to book a table in advance as it is very popular. Although the pod is on the small side it contained everything we needed and we would have no second thoughts about staying again.

The owners treated us with real kindness. The pod is private, comfortable and has everything you need. We may try the ‘cavern at the Tavern next time. The food in the Tavern is first class and the service is brilliant.

Loved the cabin.

Nicely organised. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in. However getting into bed was very difficult as we had to shuffle up as the arms of the sofa were in the way. Getting out was much easier. Guess that's what happens when you get older and less supple. Everything else was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The meals in the Tavern were gorgeous and the staff efficient and very friendly. Thank you for being the perfect hosts.

What a find!

If you’re looking for some R & R, you’ve found it. Everything you might need is in this little cabin. It’s clean, comfy and cosy and well equipped. A hop, skip and a jump into the Tav pub, where you’ll find a warm welcome, and fantastic food and service. Great walks on the doorstep, our dog just loved it, and only a short drive to loads of beauty spots, I highly recommend the Hermitage walk at Dunkeld, absolutely stunning. Looking forward to a return visit in the summer months.

We had a very enjoyable weeks stay at the cabin.

It is compact but good use has been made of the available space and it is well laid out, with everything that you need. We chose to have our evening meals at the Ardler Tavern, and the food is exceptional with a great varied menu. There were also good walks for us to take our dog on.

great pod very well fitted out , bed was vert comfy and our two dogs loved it was very secure for them with great walks through wood on to old railway line , was just about 200yrds away .

if you wished to make a meal in pod there were plenty of gear to make one , but once you taste the meals in the pub you will not want to cook portions very big owner and staff all great

Charming hosts. Cabin although small has everything you need. Quality finishes and some lovely little extras. The tavern itself has excellent staff and absolutely WONDERFUL food at a reasonable price. What's not to like?

Lots of good walks on the doorstep and also a central location for visiting other towns. Owners were very friendly and the food at the Tavern was delicious.

We had a fantastic few nights away.

Perfect base to go explore Perth and Dundee. Ate in the tavern 3 out of the 4 nights. Food was excellent and the staff are lovely. Hope to come back in the summer.

The pod garden is now enclosed so you have your own space and our two dogs had their freedom ! There’s a secluded side garden that’s a sun trap ! Place was spotless and faultless , fold down bed easy to manoeuvre, big tv with free view and alexa for the net ! If you have booked this then like us you will love it , there’s plenty of walks round about , fields and woods ! Thanks again for a lovely stay and making us feel so welcome

There are many excellent walk straight from the property and in the surrounding area, the food in the pub is delicious and my family thoroughly enjoyed to visit me here and sit in the beer garden and also enjoyed our evening meal on my last night in a good atmosphere, highly recommended.

The pod was excellent.

It had everything you needed in it for your stay. It was very comfortable with great heating. It is situated in the back of the Adler Tavern and the owners Alan and Clare were super friendly and gave advice on local walks and things to do. The locals were very friendly too. The food in the Adler Tavern is superb and we thoroughly enjoyed this aspect of our stay. We would definitely stay here again and would most definitely recommend.

We would like to thank Alan,the owner of the Tavern and the Cabin also his wife and all the staff for making our stay all the more enjoyable, had dinner most nights of our week and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.

We hope next year to make another visit to the Cabin.

The Ardler Tavern was excellent.

Highly recommend it to everyone. The staff and management were so helpful friendly always.a smile nothing was a bother. Our 2 dogs loved it as much as we did. The pub food was home cooked to a very high standard and was plentiful. Was always busy adhering to covid of course. Spotlessly clean. We can't recommend it enough. This is a lovely cabin at the back of The Ardler Tavern , it is clean comfy and ideally placed .

We couldn't fault it . Its dog friendly as is The Tavern of whom Alan and Claire and all the team at The Tavern were exceptional. We had fantastic food every day , great beer and excellent company and people from the village were really friendly. What more could you ask for , we would truly recommend it to get away from the rat race and recharge your batteries as it were we loved it.
