“The road to the lodge was in a ridiculous state, not repaired before Christmas as the owner had suggested it would be in a previous comment's reply.”

Other than happening to have read those comments we were given no indication that the road would be a problem before we arrived. We were reluctant to drive anywhere after arriving for fear that our cars would be damaged and we're very lucky they weren't. There were multiple dinner plates in the cupboard that were covered in mould as well as greasy baking trays. The bathroom light was flickering on and off and one of the lamps in the bedroom was broken. The rim of the shower floor needed ...

Other than happening to have read those comments we were given no indication that the road would be a problem before we arrived. There were multiple dinner plates in the cupboard that were covered in mould as well as greasy baking trays. The bathroom light was flickering on and off and one of the lamps in the bedroom was broken. The rim of the shower floor needed re-siliconed as it was discoloured from mould. The hot tub and the rest of the lodge was otherwise clean but all of the above added up to give an immediate unclean impression. It is a nice space and the view is lovely but we definitely wouldn't return here.

We are so sorry to hear about the issues during your stay. The road upgrade has been slowed down by the unusually bad weather this winter. One carriageway of the new paved road is now open and work is progressing on the other side this week. We have raised the issue of the crockery and baking trays with our cleaning team and steps will be taken to prevent this happening again. “We stayed for 5 nights at the start of January 26 and had an amazing time.”

The property is exactly as the photos show, the view is incredible and the owner was very helpful and quick to respond to our queries. We stayed during heavy snow and ice and found that the ground /property maintenance crew on the site were out clearing snow and gritting the track twice a day, even on the short flat track to the front door of the lodge and had no issues with vehicle access. The site access is very steep and winding but my low car had no issues at all and the track is in the middle of being resurfaced and will only get better. For the wood burner, bring your own logs as the amount supplied is for a single use but for the price we paid that was reasonable and no complaints from me. The beds are quite firm but comfortable. The hot tub is great and we spent many nights stargazing in awe of the location. There kitchen has a huge amount of cooking pots, pans, utensils and everything we needed and more. We had no issues with the WiFi the entire time and streamed without buffering. There's two walking routes from the site, one being along the path next to the main road and into Aberfeldy (around 1 mile) and a more scenic route through farm roads which gave great views and a very quiet walk (around 1.3 miles). I could go on but the lodge was amazing and we will certainly look to visit again.

“The lodge was modern with a spacious kitchen table area that was great for socialising with friends over dinner.”

The hot tub was very warm, the shower was modern and powerful. Bedding and mirrors were clean. Kitchen utensils and flooring was also clean. The only downsides were WiFi connection (couldn’t stream anything on BBC iplayer) and the steep gravel unfinished entrance to the site was slightly worrying in the icy weather. Only a 20min walk from Aberfeldy. The views from the lodge were absolutely stunning and so peaceful. A hidden gem and will return.

“Lovely cottage, amazing views and well kept.”

The road leading up to the lodge extremely bumpy resulted in a loss of pressure tyre light on my car. Check in and check out times were a bit disappointing considering the money spent an extra hour each end would be ideal. Other than that no complaints lovely break away.

Dear Antonia Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay but sorry to hear about your car. The current road surface has proved to be a challenge to keep in a good state, despite regular maintenance. Therefore, the road is being resurfaced staring this week and should be ready before Christmas, weather permitting. Thank you for your thoughts on the check-in and check out times. The reason for the check out at 10am and check in at 4pm is to allow time for emptying and refilling of the hot tub and to allow time for it to reach temperature so the chemical balance can be adjusted ready for the next guests. Its the second time this year we have been here the first time for our anniversary and the second time for my wife’s birthday. It’s lovely and peaceful and everything you need to have a nice break. Hot tub and all the facilities in this lodge are perfect. Most likely we will be back here next year. It’s a pity that you can’t get any discounts when booking this lodge for two people to bring the cost down a little bit.overall this is a stunning lodge and location. Thomas and Eileen

“Osprey view was absolutely amazing.”

It had everything you could want and more. We had to cut our stay short by a couple of days due to storm emma which resulted in a power cut. With no power there was no water which was pumped from the bottom of the hill. The only problem was the hill leading up to the lodge. It was only covered in hard core not tar so it was very rutted. As our car is quite low it was difficult trying to avoid all the ruts and bumps. But if that problem was rectified or we get a different case that's higher off the ground I'd return in a heartbeat

“Five of us had a fab 3 nights at the Gorgeous clean and well equipped lodge with amazing views and town centre a few minutes drive away or easy 15 min walk.”

Hot tub was a bonus. The only thing we felt was missing were hand towels and there was only one bath towel per person. Maybe more toilet roll especially if 5 or 6 people were staying. The toaster blew the electrics but was rectified that same morning with a phone call . Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Well positioned for visiting Aberfeldy, Kenmore and Pitlochry and 1/2 a mile from Aberfeldy Distillery sadly we did not have time to visit. Quality meal in the Schiehallion Hotel in Aberfeldy

“Location and accommodation first class .”

View from windows to die for (not literally) ! Hot tub and stove great ,although we ran out of logs which we thought wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately no logs in town - Co op staff said they don't stock them now because Winter was over .We went in March...... Overall ,a wonderful weekend - don't miss the Crannog Centre !

If you stay in Aberfeldy again, Gatehouse Firewood are open 24 hours a day, a short drive up past the Birks. Logs and kindling in the big red bins by the roadside, leave money in the honesty box. “We were a party of 5 ladies staying for a weekend in January 2025.”

The lodge exceeded out expectations. It was warm, welcoming, comfy, and modern. The hot tub was piping hot and the views were outstanding. Aberfeldy is a 2 minute drive, however we walked there and back for dinner and drinks and it took around 15 minutes. There aren't any streetlights after you leave the town but we used the torches on our phones are were fine. The lodge itself is really well equipped and it had everything you'd expect. We didn't need to bring kitchen roll, food wrap, salt, pepper, tea or coffee, it was all there, including ice in the freezer. Lovely little touches were the shortie biscuits and prosecco in the fridge. We travelled during Storm Elowyn and although the road up is very steep, we managed it no problem, you just need to take your time. Not sure how I'd fancy it in the snow however. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

“Wonderful lodge in a beautiful setting and ideally situated for access to Aberfeldy and the surrounding area.”

Everything is exactly as described. Only two small negative comments from us ……. 1. the hot tub cover was very difficult to replace as it’s very heavy and in such a tight spot and 2. we also felt the heating in the lodge was set too low and although you can easily increase it the new temp only lasts for 30 minutes - perhaps this should maybe be at least one hour. There is a log burner but we didn’t have kindling, logs etc with us to put it on. Overall it’s a great lodge and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others or return ourselves.

Dear Mandy Very glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at the lodge. Thank you for the feedback - I have adjusted the heating as you suggest and hope this works better for future guests. I agree the hot tub cover is very tight. Unfortunately, the width of the balcony does limit what we can do about this. We normally push the cover off backwards into the spring loaded rack at the back of the hot tub. It does spring back into place fairly easily if the last person stays in the tub to pull it into place halfway and gently folds it back over as they get out. Does take practice, though! There should be kindling and logs provided for your first fire, sorry this did not happen. I will check with the cleaner to make sure that this is always left out for our guests. For future guests, the coop in Aberfeldy sells logs and kindling and larger bags can be bought from Gatehouse Firewood (Gatehouse, Aberfeldy PH15 2EL) With best wishes Jim and Anita Thorn (owners) Property Owner

We did enjoy our stay but it was not luxury. There was no dressing gowns for the hot tub you'd expect and the hot tub was greasy. Your lodge is stunning but could be done with a deep clean. On arrival the road up to ithe property really needs attention. The kitchen was clean but the cutlery in drawer wasn't clean or checked there was also rotten bananas half eaten loft and waffles left behind. The pans in cupboard were in disarray and plates needed washing before use. I refixed the cupboards and dishes as I do look after 5 star luxury lodges myself. All in all we enjoyed our stay and had wanted to extend it but seemed a nightmare to try and extend. We will return some time as it was quiet and we did enjoy the fire and the view.

Recommend the Ailean Chraggan at Weem for dinner. And also visit to Farmers market at Aberfeldy on the Sunday. Suggest site owners put up a sign at the road entrance and also a map of the site, just so we know where our specific lodge sits!

Extremely well cleaned and everything provided. Only couple of negatives being that the main Bathroom could be a bit chilly and towel rail didn't heat up much. Great hot tub but taking cover on and off was a bit difficult as you have to be in the water to do so and you need two people to do it safely. Also not much lighting on the decking. Absolutely beautiful property and we enjoyed being here

Hi Heather Great to hear you enjoyed your stay. I’ve ordered smart thermostats for the bathroom radiators to see if this will address your point about the temperature. Sorry to hear you had an issue with the hot tub lid. As the hot tub is the largest we could get on the patio, the lid is a tight fit. However, there is a spring loaded stand at the back of the tub that the lid should be pushed into. This then folds down, making it easier for one person to remove and refit. “We booked Osprey View Lodge last minute for our honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier.”

The lodge itself was 5* and Aberfeldy was just great. Alot of activities are so nearby too making it even better. We have constantly spoke about our stay since leaving and will definitely be returning. The hot tub was perfect for us and even though the lodge is up a steep hill, i cant see why anyone would struggle to get up there aslong as they take their time. The lodge itself is beautifully decorated and finished. The only feedback I have is, the hot tub isn’t as big as you’d want for more than 4 staying there and there is little to no cupboard space - we had a high chair and numerous other things in our wardrobe - also the hill is quite steep so it may be an idea to tell guests this as some new drivers will find it tough,

To be fair, the hot tub is designed for five people - this was the largest we could fit on the decking as the balcony posts limit the width! Regarding the wardrobes, we have tried to balance what we provide with the available space - there is a high chair, clothes drying rack, vacuum cleaner travel cot, iron and ironing board and each bedroom also has a small set of drawers and a fan for warm weather. We look forward to feedback from other guests about this and can adjust as needed. “We all loved our time at this stunning lodge.”

It had everything you could think off, comfy beds, spotlessly clean, amazing views and great having the hot tub. 10 minute walk into aberfeldy and lots off activities on the doorstep. We had a problem with the cooker our first night, the owner phoned us straight away to check we were sorted. Honestly could recommend this lodge enough.

“For a over £700 4 day get away you would expect a clean and fresh hot tub upon arrival.”

Unfortunately that wasn't our case and we couldnt use it for a full day! It was super cloudy and full of what seemed to be fluff and lots of long strands of hair. (Fished out at least 20/30 strands) Asked sykes if someone could come out and clean it for us and within 20 minutes we had a maintenance man out cleaning it. He was actually really shocked at how dirty it was and he had to replace the water and filter as it was brown and slimey. The matteress in the master suite was unbelievablely hard too! We had a terrible night's sleep. For these warmer nights you should supply a cheap fan for the rooms as we were glued to the bedding each morning even with the windows open. All of those stated above put a sour taste in our mouths. its a Beautiful place where the lodge is Situated in but unfortunately we won't be returning.

They were at the lodge within 15 minutes of the call and deep cleaned the tub for your stay. Going forward we are monitoring the hot tub at each changeover to make sure the high standard is maintained. The market town of Aberfeldy stands on the River Tay amidst beautiful scenery in rural Perthshire. Famous for its association with Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, and also the bridge built for General Wade in 1733, Aberfeldy is just south of Glen Lyon, known as the longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen in Scotland. There is much to attract the visitor in addition to the spectacular scenery. There is a 10 mile riverside walk for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as numerous paths through forest and countryside. In addition, Aberfeldy is on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. Whitewater rafting on the River Tay is an exhilarating way to enjoy the scenery.
