If you want peace and tranquility this is the place to be.

So calming and private. Spacious accommodation ,very well equipped. Good sized bedrooms , comfy mattresses and pillows. Very nice decor. The outside is idyllic from the environs to the birds , deer and red squirrels. Lovely log burner and comfy sofas. We loved everything. Nearest town 10 miles for supermarket cafe etc although the little village shop is sweet and has basics and can offer pod coffee. It’s a bumpy track to the lodge and the electric heating isn’t efficient in the bedrooms so beware if you are nesh ! Owners provided logs and bird food which was very thoughtful. Close to the snow road in the cairngorms and to Dunkeld a pretty town worth visiting. I think you choose this property to have birds and deer visiting every day to the patio and just want to have a relaxing time.

Rocksite was everything we could've hoped for for our trip to the highlands!

the location was amazing and we got many a wander and hike in whilst staying there. thank you for making our stay and my mates birthday trip a success! already looking into rebooking for later this year or for my birthday next year! would highly recommend Rocksite to everyone looking for a trip up north.

Incredible wildlife, beautiful property which is cosy and comfortable, and great hosts. We love this place and will certainly be back yet again. It's ticks every box on our list and more besides! The weather was pretty shocking, but because of the fabulous wildlife and views, it really didn't matter; we just wrapped up and braved the elements for days out. So relaxing.

Rocksite is absolutely beautiful, the living room/dining room area is so spacious with enormous glass doors that look out on some beautiful scenery.

We saw many deer, birds and a red squirrel while sitting in comfort in front of the fireplace. Magical. It is a great base for skiing at Glenshee Ski Centre - the 30 minute drive is straightforward and picturesque. The owner sent some really useful information which we appreciated and we ate at a place he recommended and the food was really good. Absolutely 10/10 experience, highly recommend.

I have been to Rocksite a number of times and as always it is an amazing place.

As an autistic person, the serenity of Rocksite gives me time to decompress and process life. There are so many animals that come up to the patio door, like deer, pheasant and red squirrels as well as an abundance of birds. All in all a fantastic place!!

We had the most amazing time, the location was perfect for us with wonderful scenery and walking all around.

The highlight was the wildlife, we had deer and stags, red squirrels, woodpeckers and so many other birds on the patio daily. We loved it so much we have already booked to return next year.

What an oasis to relax in and reconnect with nature.

The wildlife was just amazing. Deer on our patio, red squirrels in trees and a very shy pine Martin we managed to glimpse late at night. The beds were very comfy and the place was roomy enough to spread out. It was also surprisingly warm for a chalet. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this place, particularly for nature lovers.

Rocksite is an amazing place.

Set in woodland it boasts a spectacular array of animal and plant life and superb scenery. The cabin itself is all on one level which was good for me as I have a physical disability. It was clean and tidy to a high standard and the beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of dishes and other equipment in the kitchen, along with a variety of emergency provisions. Such a peaceful place to be. All in all, I would highly recommend Rocksite to everyone!!

Had an amazing week at Rocksite.

The log cabin was clean and comfortable in a wonderful location. We loved the wildlife around the cabin, the Deer in particular visited several times a day! Would highly recommend.

Such a beautiful location and the property has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of the peaceful surroundings and amazing wildlife. We were visited by herds of fallow deer several times a day and at one point had over 20 on our patio. they loved peanuts and luckily we had brought a sack knowing that there were red Squirrels. We saw Pheasants, Woodpeckers lots of smaller birds and Red Squirrels. We even caught a pine marten on our trail camera several times and saw the elusive hybrid wildcat at dusk and on a regular basis on our trail cam at night. We will definitely return!

A lovely wooden lodge.

inthe middle of a quiet wooded area. Lots of wildlife which comes right up to the patio doors. Need a car as a long walk to the village.

Location was great & incredible wildlife.

House itself was dirty, lot of mould and very musty smell which is still lingering in all our clothes after we have left. We spent almost 5 of the 7 days with inadequate or no hot water supply.

Fantastic cabin with plenty of nature on your doorstep.

If you want to see lots of different birds, deer and more this is a fabulous place to be almost off grid.

The Rocksite is a wonderful place to stay.

The cabin is very well equipped and has loads of room. The birds and animals who visited the site while we were there were amazing to witness. We truly had a magical stay and would highly recommend others to book for this site.

A beautiful place on a beautiful spot!

This was our second time here at Rocksite and it certainly will not be the last!

It was the most relaxing and calm 3 nights and the perfect location. We spent most of our afternoons bird spotting and we also got to sit right at the doors as the deer came up onto the patio area. Spending our nights watching TV with the wood fire burning. We have even recommended Rocksite to friends and we hope to all plan a trip here soon.

Rocksite was a lovely place to stay.

We loved it particularly for the abundant wildlife - Red Squirrels, Fallow Deer, Rabbits and we also caught a Pine Marten and Wildcat/Tabby cross in the garden on our trail camera. We saw 29 species of birds within the grounds. The house was fairly clean and fairly comfortable. We had to buy a can opener as we could not make the supplied one work. The Fallow Deer get onto the flat roof at night so there is a certain amount of noise. That said, we loved the place and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I have Autism and I'm sensitive to electrical sounds.

I found the peace and quiet at Rocksite very calming. The abundance of wildlife was amazing; the deer can right up to the patio, along with pheasant and red squirrels. The cleanliness of Rocksite was second to none. I was thoroughly impressed with everything about this holiday cabin and will definitely use it again. I also have a physical disability and found moving around the property very easy as it is all on one floor. I would highly recommended this property!

Fantastic property.

Much more spacious than the pictures suggest and loads of storage space too. Incredible location right in the woods with beautiful views and lots of wildlife. Highly recommended and excellent value.

The house was very spacious and very comfortable. The log burner was great! But the absolutely best thing was all the wildlife coming to thd doorstep: deers, squerels, various birds... Just wonderful! The place is also very good for some wider exploration, so much to see within an hour drive. Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous stay at Rocksite!

!! The setting in the woods is just perfect and so peaceful. The wildlife, especially the red squirrels, deer and numerous birds that visited constantly were a joy to watch up close. The lodge is very comfortable, a lot bigger than we thought it would be, with amazing walks from the door. The weather was pretty kind to us although we didn't get to use the dark sky telescope. The owners were very helpful with lots of information and with any questions we had. We would not hesitate to recommend Rocksite and cannot wait to return.
