Owl Lodge

Lovely lodge in a beautiful location surrounded by greenery and right by the loch/canal.

Very comfortable, especially the reclining sofas and we found the beds very comfy too. The kitchen facilities were good and we enjoyed cooking and eating in the open plan living area. Not a deal breaker and i would definitely stay here again, however a few finishing touches were lacking such as door hooks and bathroom hooks/towel rails and the shower was a little weak. Whilst the lodge was lovely and comfortable I did feel it could have done with a deep clean. Happy to leave the lodge clean and tidy on leaving, however relying on guests to clean is a bit of a worry. I hope it does get a deep clean in between guests.

We had a fantastic stay!

The lodge was absolutely beautiful and noticeably clean when we arrived. Parking was easy and convenient, which made unloading a breeze. Most i importantly, it was a great setup for my dog. We felt very welcome. Highly recommend for fellow pet owners! Only downside was the wifi was poor but we had lots of board games we could play and we loved going on our walks to explore the beautiful Highlands!

After arriving past midnight on Friday we went straight to bed.

Having done the driving (9hrs) i expected to sleep till daylight but my bed was hard and the bedding had human hairs on it. The rug had dog hairs and stains, the kitchen sink couldn't hold water and didn't run hot water, theres damp/mold in the twin bedroom on the wall, the bathroom had dirt in the corners, shower ran like a trickle after not working when flicked on at the mains so I had to reset the electric, theres cobwebs all over, squashed insects, dust and cupboard fronts not wiped properly from previous guests. As a cleaner with my own cleaning business I found the cleanliness to be very poor.

I would 100% recommend staying here!

This lodge is nestled in a beautiful location, amongst trees in a quiet area and less than a hundred metres walk to the lake. Very close access to Fort William and Fort Augustus and easy access to Isle of Skye and Inverness too. The lodge is cosy, spacious, and comfortable with well equipped kitchen, living room, and cleaning supplies. They gave us ample clean towels, heating worked great, big fridge, extra blankets, comfortable beds etc. Very nice and clean! The only issue we took with was that upon arrival we saw a note that the tap water was not safe for consumption (it is out of the owner's hands) - it would have been nice to know before to be prepared for our arrival. We also didn't manage to get heated water out the kitchen/bathroom sinks - but the shower was perfectly good and hot. Would have also liked having access to a washer but that's just personal preference and we knew there wasn't one when booking. Unfortunately we got caught in storm Amy for the majority of our stay which meant we faced power loss (outside of the owner's control) but it was really nice that he contacted me and asked how we are, if we needed anything, etc. he also very kindly part refunded us even though it was completely not his fault. Really appreciated feeling cared for. Would love to visit again!

We had a truly wonderful stay in owl lodge booked through Sykes Holidays.

The location was absolutely beautiful—surrounded by nature, calm, and incredibly peaceful. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. The lodge itself was spotless, well-equipped, and felt like a true home away from home. Having our own private space made the stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. Waking up to quiet mornings and scenic views was a highlight of the trip. If you’re looking for a serene getaway in a stunning setting, I would highly recommend this lodge. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

We loved our stay at Owl Lodge.

It had everything we needed for the week and a great location for exploring the surrounding areas, from Glenfinnin to Inverness. The position on site was great too, right near the car park and very close to the Loch for swimming (just don’t forget the midgy spray!!) The kitchen had everything we needed for self-catering, plenty of crockery and pots/pans etc. Plenty of tea/coffee/dishwasher tabs etc provided, thank you! And the complimentary bottle of Iron Brew went down well with the kids! The living room was comfy. The bedrooms were comfy too, just lacking in storage. All had built in wardrobes however more shelving would have been better. Also more hooks would have been good to hang wet towels etc, particularly in the bathroom. Not a complaint just something we felt it needs to make it perfect! The bathroom, just like the kitchen, had everything we needed and was all in good working order. The bedding and towels provided were all clean and fresh. The only thing that let it down was overall cleanliness. We had to move the bed in the main bedroom to make space for our suitcases on the floor and there was a lot of dirt under the bed. There was also a thin layer of dust on some pieces of furniture. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again if we head back to Scotland. Thanks for a great week!

The cottage was beautiful and very well lite.

The address could have more details like location to find as we spent 20 min to find location as there was no site manager or attendant. We enjoyed stay as it was very nice location and the surrounding was picturesque The kitchen was very well maintained with utensils and cutlery. Unfortunately Kettle broke down and n 3rd day. The internet/ WiFi was very poor.

Wonderful surroundings.

Beautiful cottage. Helpful caretaker. Only thing we missed were a reliable wifi/internet and there was also no freezer (however, the fridge was ok).

Amazing place, the house Washington clean and it has all that you need to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing holiday.

Just problem with water supply, couldn’t use water, had to boil water or buy water

Nice lodge but the WiFi is horrendous at less than 1mbps.

Eventually got on the web but if more than 2 people want to browse the internet you can forget it. The TV is WiFi as well so had a few problems with that losing connection as well. A freezer would be nice. We bought some frozen supplies but had nowhere to put them. The ice cream didn't last long
