Beautiful property in lovely surroundings.

Very well equipped, clean and thoughtfully appointed. Bedrooms are spacious, light and airy. Outside space is great for BBQ's. Will definitely book again. Highly recommend

This was our 2nd holiday at Riverside Lodge and again we weren't disappointed.

The accommodation is excellent. Great location, down a quiet lane, though just a very short walk across a bridge to the pub! The facilities had everything you need to have a very enjoyable holiday. The kitchen was well catered for, with every utensil you would need for a self catering holiday. The lounge was very comfortable for all the family to get together and relax on an evening. The 3 bedrooms had very comfy beds and ensuite facilities. There was a fan in each bedroom, which was needed as the temperature was a high 29°-30°C. The large garden is secure for children and pets. We highly recommend Riverside Lodge and no doubt we will be back again in the future.

Such a nice well equipped place, a little tired in places, a few cobwebs, however this did not affect our enjoyment of our weeks stay, the outside area is huge our dogs loved the garden, nice location lots of parking space, and next door to a great pub.

You always wonder when booking accommodation whats it really like, this place well exceed our expectations.

Great property would reccomend and we will be back.

Would highly recommend, we stayed here for 3 nights with our family of 6 plus our grandson.

We were celebrating my husband’s big birthday. Such a large spacious lodge, also a great win all round with the retro games table, also lots of board games to pick from. Also highly recommend the white horse inn pub Which is literally through the garden gate, great food and they also let us decorate for birthday celebrations.

A wonderfully warm, modern house and well equipped for 6 adults with the 3 en suite bathrooms.

Inevitably at the end of the summer there were a couple of small maintenance requirements but not enough to bother the owner during our stay. We left a note. Two couples arrived in the dark and found the SatNav instructions took them along the road on the wrong side of the pub, so missed the entrance. A few more specific details, eg go through the gate into the pub car park area might have helped confusion. A great place to stay though and loved the Quantock Hills and Exmoor walking.

Riverside Lodge is just great lovely house.

Always warm. Comfortable beds. Well equipped and situated opposite the White Horse pub. Great for food and drinks. Had issue with key safe each time it was difficult to operate. Walks from the lodge were hard to find. Had to drive to most. Had excellent week. Thank you.

The property is clean, spacious and has everything you need for an excellent holiday.

The location is peaceful and relaxing but close enough to towns, beaches and attractions. The White Horse pub is friendly and welcoming and serves excellent food and drinks. This is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed at and we would have no hesitation in returning or recommending it.

Another lovely stay at Riverside with beautiful weather too!

We noticed that the property had new cutlery, glasses and outdoor chairs etc which was wonderful. The BBQ we had on our final evening as one happy family really completed the fabulous time we had at the lodge. Thank you to the owner George for creating such a wonderful place to visit.

Although it does say that the property is 500m from the pub it does not say that the pub garden backs onto the properties garden.

- however to be fair there was not any noise late into the evening. I would advise people to close the gate in the evening and when going out as when we came back one afternoon people had used the properties garden as an overflow car park for an music event that was going on in the pub

We had a lovely stay at Riverside Lodge.

The property was well laid out and very comfortable. We were a party of 5 adults and a dog and there was plenty of room for everyone, with an en suite for each room. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the outdoor area was lovely and the garden was completely secure for our dog. The pub next door was an added bonus with great food. It was so good we’re hoping to go back next year!

The accommodation was really lovely.

Nice position. Not too much noise from the pub next door. The garden was really lovely too and one of the main reasons I booked this as I needed a big garden for my dog. Unfortunately the garden was not secure for my dog. Whilst most of the area is fenced off, there is a hedge at the side of the property which my cocker spaniel was easily able to get through and I had no idea where it led to but I managed to get him back eventually. Also to one side of the garden there is a small gate which again didnt have any net fencing over it. Whilst my dog couldnt get through the gate he did get his head stuck in between the wooden bars in the process of trying to get to one of the many rabbits in the bit of land next to the property. Furthermore, the double gates on the drive only had a latch but no bolt. As it was very windy, the gates kept blowing open. Fortunately I noticed this before I let my dog out otherwise he would have run out and ended up in the road. After that, I had to secure the gates by tying one of my dogs leads around the top. Unfortunately after these incidences it wasnt the relaxing, stress free holiday I had hoped for and I had to take my dog out in the garden on lead all the time. Addressing these issues to make the garden fully secure I think would make a huge difference to other dog owners visiting the property.

Absolutely fantastic property with everything you could possibly imagine needing, in fact it felt more like staying in someone’s home than a “holiday” let.

We stayed in the middle of a heat wave and portable fans had already been placed in every room, which were very welcome! We have 2 Weimaraner’s who had a fabulous time playing in the fully secured garden. It was bliss being able to open the big doors and just let them come & go as they pleased without having to worry about them getting out. There is also a run with a small open kennel at the back of the property, that kept nice and shady if you have outdoor dogs. A really nice touch was the cutlery/plates etc for toddlers, there were 2 high chairs provided but no stair gate, not that we needed one but considering everything else that was there I’d have expected to find one. I also couldn’t find a dog’s water bowl anywhere, odd for a dog friendly property although not the end of the world as I’d taken my own. Fabulous pub next door, owned by the same people, great service & good food but do book a table if you want to eat inside as it’s always busy, that said the garden was charming and right next to the river. We found out near the end of our stay that you could do a take away (from the garden menu) which was great, there is also a nifty side gate from the property straight into the pub garden which was very handy! I’d definitely recommend both the property and the pub, in fact from a human & dog perspective it was probably the best we’ve stayed in, the location was great to explore from, Wimbleball Lake, Cleeve Abbey, Dunster, Tarr Steps are all within an easy drive. Oh and last but not least thank you for the milk & Prosecco found in the fridge ☺️

A very comfortable and well equipped lodge with a well-kept garden and plenty of parking.

It was perfect for our family break and I would be happy to recommend it to others. The accommodation was light and airy with plenty of opening windows and skylights - especially important as the weather was very warm during our stay. The added bonus was the proximity of The White Horse Inn, a wonderful, traditional British pub which serves very good food.

Well maintained - Good facilities with exceptional outside space. Food at the local pub excellent , but must book in advance.

Lovely property and garden.

Some issues with maintenance - broken handles etc - but mentioned to owner who responded that he would sort it - but I told him we could manage but suggested he sorted it before the next guests. Only disadvantage for us was the lack of dog walks directly from the cottage without having to take the car or walk along narrow lanes for some distance.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay in Riverside Lodge, the property was spectacular, very roomy and comfy.

We loved the fact that there was a huge secure garden for our dogs. We would highly recommend this property and the White Horse Inn over the road which served delicious food

We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed it things to make it even better would be an earlier check in 5pm is very late combined with an early check out 2 or 3 pm check in would be much fairer and the provision of a stair gate would be useful.

Blessed with the weather, able to sit out and watch our dog play happily in the huge front garden.

A super holiday, clean, tidy and had everything you need. We’ve booked again for August and that will be our 4th visit to Riverside since January 2025! That’s how much we love it. Thanks to our host George, wonderful again.

Amazing stay yet again.

My family and I love Riverside, it’s so beautiful and tranquil. A perfect place to rest and recuperate. We’ll be back in 2 weeks for more R&R. Thanks George for a wonderful stay

This was our 3rd visit to Riverside lodge and each time we return we feel that we are ‘coming home’.

Spotlessly clean, warm, spacious, with comfortable beds and ample room for 3 generations of family and a future service dog (who lived for the size of the garden)!! I’ve already booked again to return in 3 weeks and in April that’s how much I love this place. George, the owner, is always on hand, and is only a call or text message away. I would definitely recommend Riverside, it’s truly wonderful! Thanks again and see you in 3 weeks!

10 out of 5 stars, it was the best lodge we staid in!

It is fully equipped with everything you might need, and even more. Riverside lodge is just next to White horse In pub, that is just lovely place, and has the best team to run it. Also this lodge has a best location, just 10 mins drive from the beach and good walks in Exmoor. It has a space, it has a charm and it has all you need. So i cannot add more then just saying thank you to the host, and wish to come back again!

Our second stay in 8 weeks.

Love the property, spacious and clean and very warm especially in the build up to winter. Great to see hairdryers in every bedroom as there weren’t any last time. Quiet and tranquil, lovely to see the rabbits running across the lawn first thing in the morning and last thing at night. We will be back for a third visit

This was the cleanest property we have stayed in!

! A huge garden totally enclosed for dogs to run. Next door to pub with great food. The property was far nicer and more comfortable than hoped and spacious, well equipped and very well looked after. We will be back!

Riverside lodge is a lovely clean, comfortable and spacious place to spend a week.

The location is perfect for exploring the area. Plenty of places to walk the dog. The White Horse Inn is very friendly and the food is good value.

Brilliant place to stay, probably the best property we have stayed in.

Wonderful front garden, perfect for dogs to play in, fantastic lounge, kitchen and playroom and three superb en-suite bedrooms. Great location, can’t fault this house. 5 stars. This was our second time here and I suspect my wife is plotting to book it again.

An exceptional property.

Very spacious, warm and comfortable. Difficult to find fault. Loved the private gate to the pub. The White Horse Inn provides excellent food and drink.

Great lodge lots of space with 3 generations of family staying there!

Internet went off which was not George’s fault but was quickly fixed and he kept us fully informed of everything. Lovely owner, very polite and helpful. When we were there booked again for October half term, that’s how much we loved it. Thanks George for a lovely stay.

Lovely house.

Everything perfect. Lovely garden for the dog except smaller dogs don’t like gravel, so a few stepping stones to the large lawn would be good. One thing is that the bathroom window in the large bedroom has no blind or curtain so we had to put a piece of cardboard in the window. Would benefit from more mugs and teaspoons and some glass tumblers. Just minor things though. Would definitely recommend this lovely house and hope to return.

I was totally shocked to find that the property was on 2 levels - no where in the listing did it mention this (which was a little difficult as 1 of the guests was elderly and struggled to get up the stairs).

But the property was beautiful in every other respect. We enjoyed having 1 settee each and were very comfortable, watching the massive TV in the lounge.The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The garden area was ideal for our dog. The pub across the road served a lovely Sunday lunch - but booking is highly recommended - as it seems very popular.

Riverside Lodge was a great place to stay and we would happily return for another visit.

The accommodation was excellent with large spacious rooms which were comfortably furnished. The kitchen was clean and very well equipped. The games room provided lots of reading and games, and we enjoyed completing the puzzle! The location was ideal, close to lots of walking routes and with plenty of parking. We loved the gate through to The White Horse Inn where we managed to book several evening meals. Note, you do need to book as they get very busy even in April! A great week away, thank you!

We are a family of 6 (2 kids, 2 parents and 2 grandparents) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Riverside Lodge in Washford, Somerset.

A stones throw from the delightful White Horse Inn pub, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner on "pie night"and a short walk to Torre Cider Farm, where we saw lambs and walked through the orchard before purchasing some ciders and other treats. Also close by was Washford Station, one of the stops on the West Somerset Steam Railway, running from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, which we took a return trip on one drizzly day. Nearby visits to Dunster and Dunster Castle, and Watchet were also greatly enjoyed! And we did a day trip to Lynton/Lynmouth, driving along breathtaking A39 through Exmoor ending at the Valley of Rocks! Really spectacular! Accomodation was spacious and comfortable, including a huge living room, separate well-stocked games room and well-equipped kitchen. We couldnt work out how to use Xbox (so some instructions would be appreciated) but kids enjoyed selection of boardgames and legos! Kitchen just missing some basics like salt, pepper and cooking oil, but had teas, coffee and milk in fridge. We enjoyed amazing bean to cup coffee as well (once we figured out how to work the machine). On first floor were three en-suite bedrooms, which worked well for us. Would have liked two single beds for kids rather than double but all slept well. We would definitely stay here again and reccommend to others looking for a family-friendly, scenic countryside stay close to seaside and Exmoor national park with lots of options for daytrips suited to families!

Very clean, really well equipped, I can't fault it!

We loved our stay.

However they’re was a mish mash of glasses, not set up for 6 people, no cork screw or bottle opener, which are small things to get right. The situation is amazing, we just felt we were visiting at the end of season and housekeeping and maintenance has slipped a little. That said, we would definitely visit again, such a fantastic location.

The pub next door is added bonus with good beer, great food and welcoming friendly staff.

Very impressed.

Clean and very well equipped. Wifi was great and the level of equipment including a great coffee machine, bottle coolers, gas barbecue and retro arcade machine being a highlight. Proved to be a perfect base for 6 of us and our dog. The spacious grounds allowed us to exercise and let our dog off the lead, as well as space for family football and rounders. The kitchen with the island was the hub of the house , with the lounge and games room providing quiet areas for catching up on tv, reading and family games. Area was great to explore, with Watchet, Minehead and Lynton nd Lynmouth being popular. Sunday lunch at the White Horse was excellent. We used the private gate to sit by the river in the White Horse garden and play cards. We also had excellent breakfast twice at the Torre Cider farm.

We were a group of three mature couples with classic cars.

Riverside Lodge met our needs perfectly, three double bedrooms all en-suite and plenty of space downstairs. The Kitchen diner was well equipped, spacious and lovely to have al fresco dining indoors by opening the large patio doors. We had supper twice at the White Horse Inn just across the stream and car park. Meals, ales & house wine excellent. Riverside lodge is highly recommended without any reservations what so ever.

We had a fantastic holiday at Riverside Lodge.

It is located in a peaceful location, though not too far from plenty of amenities, main towns Dunster, with its castle, Minehead shingle, rocky beach and promenade. It had everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. The dining/kitchen was very spacious and well equipped. On sunny days you can dine out alfresco with the bbq.Our dog enjoyed the very larged enclosed garden. The beds were comfy and all bedrooms had ensuite facilities. We enjoyed eating at The White Horse Inn just across the road, The Valiant Soldier in Roadwater (very large portions and good value for money). The Torre cider farm provided good lunchtime produce. We had an enjoyable day out on the West Somerset Railway, catching the train from the local station (Washford). We definitely highly recommend Riverside Lodge and would return again when visiting this area of Somerset.

Brilliant lodge furnished to a high standard.

Every thing you would want was provided. The only negative point was that the router details in the folder was not correct though we did eventually work it out. The pub next door provided excellent catering and the staff were very friendly.

Very good time had, property could benefit from A/C as bedroom’s are hot in the evening, a few minor issues sorted immediately by George the owner, very good access and parking, excellent pub backing onto property with private access from cottage , no morning or late evening noise and grounds very well kept.

Would definitely stay here again.

A great holiday lodge We had a problem with faulty washing machine reported to owner Tuesday morning a new washing machine was delivered and plumbed in Wednesday afternoon while we were out exploring If you wish to dine in the White Horse (next door) book before you go it is always very busy

This was our second visit to Riverside Cottage and was just as enjoyable as the first.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and cannot be faulted in anyway. Although there were problems with the WiFi, beyond the owners control, the alternative equipment provided was quite adequate. The grandchildren particularly loved the large grassed garden ideal for cricket and football.

This was our second visit to this property and we had a lovely holiday.

The property is very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The WiFi was good and the welcome gifts including cider and wine and toiletries provided in all en-suites was a nice touch. We would definitely recommend.

We thought Riverside lodge was fabulous - the only problem, which has already been highlighted, was having no wifi - which was a huge inconvenience to us as most of us needed to keep in touch with work!

Everything else was excellent. We will definitely book this lodge again when the WiFi is fixed!
