Every little details has been thought of, comfiest bed, amazing views, little treats upon arrival. A lovely tour when we arrived. Would highly recommend.

Just returned after a lovely weekend away at Orchard retreat.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and was greeted by Samantha that was extremely warm and welcoming. She gave us a little tour and showed us to our Hut! Explained to us how everything worked, where everything was etc and had goodies watching for us and our pooch! Including fresh local milk and Gorgeous free ranged eggs! The Hut is situated on the most beautiful grounds, lots of scenery. Orchard with the summerhouse with multiple things inside from board games, books to blankets. Games room with pool tables, dart boards and air hockey. To a large opened field right outside the hut for you to wonder and walk your dogs. You can chill In the hot tub and watch magical sunsets! The listing of the description doesn’t do this little hidden gem justice! It’s all the little finishing touches that make this place truly great. Very much looking forward to returning for another great and peaceful adventure. Thanks once again for a wonderful stay!

Perfect place with everything you could possibly require.

My two boys loved the open space and were off the lead for almost all of the time. Hot tub is lovely and relaxing. Samantha, is a perfect host and ensures you are going to have a great break. I will be going back here, but with my better half next time.

This place is a little gem!

It was exactly what we needed, peace and quiet. It was amazing, such a wonderful place. Samantha the host was the cherry on the top, so friendly and helpful. 100% would recommend. Very clean, very well organised. Little treats for us and our dog was left out for us on arrival. The hot tub was wonderful to sit in and look out at the lovely view.

Absolutely perfect stay, everything we needed.

Loved the quirky summerhouse sitting room, so useful and a great idea as obviously the shepherds hut is petite, if the weather is poor. Best bit was the fact that the hut was oriented so that it faced the fields and wasn’t overlooked. Wonderful to lie in the hot tub, relax and take in the beautiful views. Great field next door for the dogs to run in too. Samantha the owner was delightful and so helpful. Would totally recommend.

The accommodation was beautiful - everything had been thought of and was made available, which made for a really comfortable environment. Samantha was so knowledgeable on the local area and gave us some great recommendations. We had a lovely time and felt right at home. Thanks again!

Excellent location if you want full privacy & peace and quiet what a Amazing hut summer house and Not forgetting the HOT TUB our experience was lovely what a buetiful kind considerate host aswell we had NO problems here place was spotless facilities where great

I could not recommend the Orchard Retreat enough!

The host is absolutely amazing! They left us lots of goodies and had absolutely everything we needed even down to seasonings to make food at the hut ourselves. Although it is self check-in, Samantha was lovely enough to show us around and make sure we knew how everything worked and where everything was etc. The pictures really do not do it justice! One thing we were particularly worried about before coming was the parking, but we were so glad once we arrived as we could see the car from the hut, which was perfect for us as my partners car is literally like his child

Everything provided to make your stay perfect. This truly is a little piece of heaven. Loved our time here.

Where do I begin!

We went to the Orchard Retreat for our not-honeymoon (we wanted to go on a cruise so settled for calling this a not-honeymoon). But my god, this was everything and then a honeymoon. Stunning locations. Fantastic soundtrack. Great local pubs and things to do. Beautiful sunshine and stars. It was honestly one of the greatest weeks of our lives. We took the puppy who loved running unabetted in the fields surrounding the Orchard Retreat. She was well cared for with the owner's dogs all being on the property too. When we arrived there were honeymoon snacks and treats for us from the owner, as well as a just married sign and balloons. When we ran out of coals for the BBQ, or firelighters, or coffees, or wood for the fire - I just asked and we were helped straight away - To be honest we wish we could quit our jobs, go back, and live there forever until we die.

Me and my partner had a wonderful weekend at the Orchard retreat.

The hostess was very welcoming and accommodating throughout the stay and was happy to show us all of the facilities. She was not pushy in anyway and allowed us to have our privacy, but made us well informed on how to get in contact should we need too for any reason. A very thoughtful hamper filled of lots of useful goodies with dog treats as well for our little boy! The scenery is extraordinarily beautiful, and they have maintained their land exceptionally. Great little games room for some pool, darts and air hockey as well as lots of board games/cards to play with drink by the campfire at sunset. The place was so idellic I even proposed to my girlfriend, and she said yes! Thank you for a truly memorable stay, and I'm sure our paths will cross again someday in the future. What a little hidden treasure… from our arrival with a lovely warm welcome from one of the owners Samantha.

She showed us around which was one of the nicest shepards huts I have stayed in . The perfect little touches including pressing of the toilet paper which I was fascinated with .. haha , little treats and bottle of Prosecco. You have a lovely enclosed area for dogs and also a field to stretch there little legs with is also delightful with the breathtaking views . We shall definitely be returning

Beautiful grounds and location.

The shepherds hut itself is amazing and anyone looking for a cosy getaway this would be ideal. My wife and I took our two dogs and they loved it too. There’s a huge paddock for them to walk and play in and the owners dogs are real beauties and super friendly too. The owners made us feel super welcome and were very helpful when it came to guidance and where to go and eat etc. I don’t think I’ve ever been somewhere so quiet in this country and I’ll miss that. We had an amazing 2 night stay.

Samantha was in touch via email before we arrived and was so helpful with my questions. Samantha also decorated with bunting and balloons as the stay was a surprise for my husband's 40th birthday and gave us a welcome tour. We had a lovely, relaxing stay and didn't want to leave. The games room is such a bonus as is the summer house and the welcome pack was much appreciated. Watching the stars from the hot tub with a drink in hand was truly wonderful. We will be back!

We have had a wonderful time and we wouldn't have changed a thing about our holiday.

Where do I even begin

The owners are so helpful and had really thought of everything.

Lots of little creature comforts and I slept so well! The view and setting were very tranquil and the hot tub is an utter joy! Be prepared to drive some country lanes, but I'm terrible at reversing and I managed ok

It was a lovely place, views were excellent.

On the down side there was lot's of hairs in the bed, we had to take the bed sheets off and shake hair off. Cleanliness could be more thorough kettle needs a descale and plate rack sticky and dusty inside of cupboards could do with a wipe out kitchen cooking pans were dirty . The shower need an extractor fan which will sort the damp problem. Maybe a shelf near sink to put toothbrush and toiletries on.There was no where to put food apart from fridge, and no freezer compartment which all the other huts we stayed in have a spare cupboard for food . Overall we did enjoy our stay tho. Many thanks.

Wonderful place to stay.

Very friendly and welcoming host who greeted us on arrival. After a quick run through we were left to enjoy our stay, knowing she was available if needed. A beautiful place, so peaceful. Our dog loved the field, running around with his teddy! Would definitely recommend it friends and family.

We had a lovely greeting when we got there and were shown around and told everything we needed to know. We wanted for nothing as everything was provided for. The hot tub was the excellent and waking up to the view was just

We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and got shown around the place and got told information for the week away.

Everything was perfect for me and my boyfriend indoor and outdoor. The outdoor space for the dog was unbelievable and we are very jealous. The owners were very kind and it felt like home. We were all very sad to leave and we will returning soon to another stay in the orchard retreat.

Our stay at Orchard Retreat was simply perfect, The owners were incredibly accommodating from the moment we arrived, we were given a lengthy and detailed tour accompanied with some brilliant recommendations, we felt so at ease right away.

The cabin itself had everything you could need for a cosy getaway, the interior is so well done and everything was of a very high quality. The hot tub was the Piece De Resistance, it was such an easy setup and the fact it maintained a constant temperature meant we could get in whenever we liked, the speakers made it even more wonderful once you were sat inside, we used the hot tub 2 or 3 times a day when we were there. The views out over the fields and the surrounding trees made the perfect backdrop to sit and gaze out into. Every morning we were able to sit and watch the Large birds flying around and one morning we even saw the farmer herding the sheep. The fire pit was so good to have on the chilly mornings and evenings, the firelighters provided worked a treat and our firewood was replenished when we asked. The hosts answered our calls and questions whenever we had anything we needed to know and were incredibly friendly during our entire stay. Their 4 legged friends were also a delight. In terms of places to go and things to do, you certainly won't run out, the local farm shop is juts a 10 minute drive and the produce in there was to die for! We went for a lovely long walk on our last day and visited the 13th century church on the recommendations of our host. It was a brilliant and picturesque walk with so many good photo opportunities. We really couldn't have asked for a better stay and will most certainly be visiting again!

Had a perfect week away at Orchard Retreat.

The hut was a home away from home and was occupied with everything you could think of and more. Perfectly secure for my dog with an extra bonus field for him to run and play in. Beautiful scenery and the most wonderful hosts. Couldn't ask for a better holiday, we will be returning.

What an absolute delight Orchard Retreat is, having exclusive use of the Summer House was a wonderful escape to read, listen to music and play a few games of scrabble whatever the weather.

Samantha and Jason have thought of everything to make our stay very comfortable and relaxing. Hot tub was fantastic with a glass of bubbly and clear starry night what more could you ask for. Games room used a few times. Our dogs were made very welcome by the resident dogs and owners (treats supplied) enjoyed the freedom to run about in the field and orchard. Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning.

Clean and comfortable. Hosts were friendly and respectful of privacy. Hot tub and fire pit were fantastic, blue tooth speakers in hot tub was a fabulous added bonus. We couldn’t rate this shepherds hut get away enough. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely ‘chill out’ two days at Orchard Retreat for our wedding anniversary.

Samantha and Jason were very friendly and welcoming, leaving us some fresh eggs, milk and bubbly to celebrate our special occasion. The location is very peaceful with a couple of local walks suggested by the hosts. We made use of the summer house where we played some board games and listened to music. We also visited the games room and played darts and pool. We obviously took a dip or three in the hot tub and with the lovely weather, was a great way to end the day. We even saw a few shooting stars! Definitely be back!

More than amazing!

Absolutely loved our stay here.

The hut was comfortable and cosy, and very clean. Really well equipped with everything we needed plus a lovely welcome basket including lots of treats for our dog. I was a little worried about space having never stayed in a hut like this before, but it was surprisingly roomy and they have installed some clever storage like an ottoman bed. Location is great, a short drive to a few pubs and lots of other things to do, and onsite you have access to a large private closed off field (great for the dog), and a games room (which we didn’t end up using but looked fab!). And an amazing view to wake up to over the fields, we enjoyed laying in bed with a coffee watching the sheepdogs herd the sheep in the far field! The owners are also super friendly and couldn’t have been more accommodating, with recommendations and when we needed help with a couple of things. It’s clear they really take pride in providing a lovely place to stay. Overall we were very sad to leave and would love to come back one day!

Absolutely loved our stay here.

Enclosed area for our dog to explore while we were in the hot tub. Water changed prior to our arrival. Complimentary milk, eggs, crisps, biscuits, small bottle of prosecco and red wine. Only thing I would note is that the stones around the hut can be uncomfortable if walking bare foot, potentially a few more slabs could be added around to make it more comfy for the dog as well? Overall an amazing stay, so relaxing and would 100% return!

The PERFECT little sheppard’s hut in a peaceful tranquil location.

This is just what my partner and I wanted. The finishing touches were fantastic and the hosts were incredibly gracious and showed us around the property properly. Could not recommend more!

The hut was gorgeous and the view from the hot tub was beautiful

We chatted with Samantha the lovely host on arrival and departure so this won’t come as a surprise.

We absolutely loved this place. The perfect get away. Sam has thought of everything from underfloor heating, full sized oven and fridge, smart tv, Bluetooth your music to the hot tub. Bath robes for getting in & out of the hot tub. So cost with amazing views along with a fenced in garden, the orchard garden, and huge field all for our sole use giving us privacy as well peace of mind for the dogs to run around safely without fear of running off and getting lost. We mentioned how nice it would be to have sun lounge or reclining chairs in the immediate garden to enjoy the views in the sunny afternoons / evenings. We have dogs and a crate so we needed to dismantle the table and chairs & stow them under the bed which was fine but we thought perhaps a bistro set could be placed in the summer house as an option. Oh one thing I forgot to mention to Sam directly was a mini microwave would have been handy however it wasn’t a major thing as it’s really also quite nice getting back to basics. We will be returning, we stayed 4 nights and could have stayed longer. Just perfect.

Greeted us when we arrived and warned us about a few beautiful dogs that might want to join us, lovely picky bits, fresh milk and eggs when we got in, wasn’t disbursed at all. Highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful location and surroundings.

Very private and secluded, there is another holiday property at this location, but it is nowhere near the shepherd's hut. Wonderful facilities, friendly and helpful hosts. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

Great little place to stay only thing I would say is more shelter through winter times so can use the facilities better but great all round thank you

Absolutely idyllic stay, the hosts have thought of everything.

We had zero complaints and thoroughly enjoyed the entire 3 night stay. The layout and style of the hut and the surrounding hot tub, fire pit, summer garden are all fabulous. The countryside is simply stunning, the local walks are very picturesque and there was so much to see. Thank you so much, we loved our much needed break.

Lovely hut and a hot tub is an ideal!

What a find, this place is just what we needed after a tough year.

It’s secluded, quiet, just perfect. The hot tub is the icing on the cake. The hut has everything you would need. The summer house is lovely and has games a radio and in the summer would be a great place to unwind. Lots of grounds around the hut that is yous and it’s well lit at night with lights along the path. The hosts are fantastic, really friendly and nothing is too much, you ask and it’s not an issue. Prosecco, cookies, posh crisps, milk and eggs are waiting for you on arrival. Owners have 3 great dogs that are friendly and greet you daily. We will look to return in the bigger River View with our kids. Oh the games room such fun. Cant recommend enough.

Very private location which made for quiet and relaxing time. The provisions that were left was a nice touch and the eggs were delicious

Had lovely stay Samantha and Jason were welcoming people, the welcome basket was a lovely touch too, went walking during the day then a nice relaxing drink in the hot tub in the evening, the bed was so comfy, Thank you both.

Absolutely Perfect

Really lovely property exactly what was listed and what we were expecting.

The Shepherds Hut and the summer house were decorated and furnished to very high quality. We were thrilled with the secluded area and the spectacular views we saw lots of wildlife during our stay was fabulous thank you Samantha and Jason .

What a beautiful place to stay and relax.

The Shepherds hut is so comfy with everything you could need including herbs and spices and our welcome munchies ,wine,eggs and fresh flowers. We couldn't have asked for more. You have complete privacy but our lovely hosts were there to help if needed. Laying in the hot tub looking at the stars with a fire in the fire pit to warm you when you get out of the tub it doesn't get any better than this,a little slice of heaven. I couldn't recommend Orchard retreat enough. Thankyou for having us ,we will be back x

Wonderful, comfortable and peaceful place for a break.

Stunning scenery! Watched the sheep being rounded up by sheepdogs, saw shooting stars and woke up to rainbows on two mornings - beautiful! Extremely welcoming owners who couldn’t do enough to ensure our holiday was perfect - thank you!
