Really enjoyed our weekend at Primrose.

Beautiful location and lodge was stunning. Everything we could ask for for a relaxing weekend away.

Perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Gorgeous lodge, very clean and well equipped inside and outside with the outdoor furniture and bbq. The views from the lodge are beautiful. The hot tub was cleaned before our arrival and a nice hot temperature. Great for stargazing on a clear night. Wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble.

Beautiful property.

Owners really thought about everything that you needed. The beds were so comfortable - better sleep than we have at home. The view was lovely and so peaceful. Lovely walk to the pub through fields and woods - but I did find I liked the walk via the road more - as I like looking at houses.

We enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful and sunny Christmas at Primrose, wallowing in the hot tub, mostly and enjoying the lovely valley view.

Primrose has everything one might need although perhaps some clothes washing facilities might be useful as we found out after a muddy local walk, but that did not effect our overall experience. The cottage is well appointed, very cosy and comfortable. The local farm store is superb and serves top breakfasts and the Cotley Inn serves wonderful meals (the pork is amazing) but early booking is essential. Elena and Ed were wonderful discreet hosts. Chard is in easy driving distance and has all the shops and so on one can need. We enjoyed many walks in and around the area - all lovely. Thoroughly recommmended.

Every little detail was catered for in the lodge. We plan to revisit.

Beautifully appointed cottage with ample space for 4 people, Comfy beds and good showers.

Set in the most idyllic countryside setting - peaceful and restorative. Great parking arrangements and lovely outside spaces with hot tub and decking.

Primrose was lovely and very comfortable.

A lovely retreat with stunning views

We stayed in Primrose in early September and had a great time.

The lodge was beautiful and was clean and well laid out. We could not ask for more. The owners were amazing and regularly kept in touch to make sure everything was okay. The hot tub absolutely made our holiday and the views and surroundings were idyllic. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed at the Primrose from 9th of August 2025 for 6 nights.

A delightful property which is thoughtfully decorated and beautifully presented. A vase of fresh flowers were waiting at the table with milk in the fridge and Chocolate cookies, which were welcome after our long drive. The views are amazing, especially at 6am with all the bunnies on the lawn. On the first morning I counted 11! And hearing the cows/sheep were welcome too. The Beds were very comfortable. The Bedlinen, towels and Robes (a nice touch!) were excellent quality. The Shampoo/Conditioner/Body wash (which I will be changing mine to from now on) were very welcome. The overhead shower was also amazing, as was the Hot tub. The owners, Elena and Ed, are very helpful, friendly and always on hand to help or to answer any questions. It is a tranquil place which we would love to return to. PS We visited Forde Abbey two days in a row. The most beautiful Heritage Building and Grounds we have visited so far :) All in all it was an excellent holiday which flew by all too quickly:(

The perfect base for a family holiday.

The lodge was immaculate and had everything we could have needed for our stay. The owner has thought of everything. It was really spacious, beautifully decorated and the hot tub was a favourite for our girls. The little extras like the robes, games, marshmallows and hot chocolate where lovely it's clear to see how much effort goes into this lodge. Elena was really helpful with any questions we had and gave us some great recommendations for our days out. We really couldn't fault anything here. The views are amazing and stargazing at night was incredible. We will definitely be back.

Amazing place to go a weekend away.

Very well organised and very clean. Owners are very helpful and always on hand if you need anything, Very nice and quiet area with a town not to far away. Cottage had everything we needed for a perfect relaxing weekend away. Highly recommend and hope to be back again in the future!

This was the best lodge we have ever stayed in.

It was beautifully laid out and presented, spotlessly clean and had many thoughtful touches to make you feel really welcome. The setting was fantastic and so peaceful - it was a little tricky to find at first without any signs, but using what3words was a great help. The hot tub was a lovely added bonus to our weekend stay. We would definitely recommend a stay here!

Beautiful lodge in a perfect setting.

We had a great week, well situated for exploring Somerset, Devon and Dorset. Well stocked property with everything you could need including hot tub. Highly recommend.
