To one side, just 1.2 miles away, lies Llantwit Major beach and village, where ancient history meets modern convivence. Explore St Illtud’s Church, dating back to 500 AD, and uncover its deep-rooted significance as a center of Celtic Christian culture. The village also offers quaint 14th-century pubs, a traditional butcher, and a local deli. Venture in the other direction to Nash Point Lighthouse, a guiding light for sailors since 1832. Continue onward to Monknash, where you'll find The Plough and Harrow, a charming pub set among the ruins of a medieval monastic grange. With beamed ceilings, Tudor doors, and open fires, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a drink locally crafted Welsh beers and ciders. If you enjoy a long walk you can continue to the spectacular Dunraven Bay, a favourite for bathing with its extensive sandy beach. If your legs are tired you can catch the local bus which stops along the coastline and returns to Tresilian Wood.
A short drive brings you to Cowbridge, a vibrant market town filled with boutiques, cafés, and fine dining options.
