Absolutely superb.

The hosts had covered everything you need. I didnt need to have taken most of what i did. Clean modern even left dog treats. Very friendly nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend. 5* all the way. Would go back.

We loved the Old well bungalow, the owners were very friendly but not intrusive, they had thought of everything to make the stay enjoyable.

It was in a peaceful position and somewhere we would recommend to others.

The Old Well was a beautiful property.

An exceptional finish to the building, very warm and comfortable and exceptionally clean. It had everything we needed for our stay and the warm welcome from the owners and welcome hamper was very much appreciated. Very convenient for visiting Newport, Cardiff and the Welsh Valleys and with it's own private parking space it was ideal.

The bungalow was really lovely, clean and comfortable.

We had a lovely time there, the dog facilities were second to none. It is quiet and very private with only a horse in the field. John and Theresa are excellent hosts left us cakes,bread and milk to get us started the pub they recommended did fabulous food at reasonable prices. Would definitely go there again. A beautiful well equipped bungalow, with everything needed for a perfect stay, ideally situated for exploring the local area.

Theresa is a friendly welcoming host but not at all intrusive. The garden is a great size and is wonderfully self-contained, perfect for our cockerpoo. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return, we loved every minute of our weeks holiday.

The bungalow was absolutely spotless.

Everything we needed was there. The host go above and beyond. The best and friendliest people ever. Anything we needed there were there for. Even give us a lift to bus stop as it was too far to walk. Perfect location. Will definitely be returning for longer.

This property was brilliant, the owners were so welcoming and the welcome pack was one of the best, can’t say enough it was quiet and peaceful and would love to stay again, two good pubs doing lovely food near by.

A spotlessly clean bungalow. The seating area was lovely with 2 comfy sofas and a tv that fitted the size of the room unlike some other places we have stayed in. Theresa greeted us and explained everything to us there was the most amazing welcome pack left for us . A very comfortable bedroom which had a really comfy bed, all in all a very lovely stay with a dog friendly garden. A star accommodation throughout.

The welcome, decoration, facilities and cleanliness could not be faulted.

We stayed for 4 nights from Monday 28 October until Friday 01 November and we absolutely loved our stay.

The owners were absolutely brilliant - they made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and the accommodation itself was everything we could have asked for and more - it was a beautiful property, well furnished, clean and well-equipped. We would absolutely love to stay here again and we would recommend anybody staying in the area to stay at the Old Well bungalow you won’t regret it. Our dog also absolutely loved it and we will definitely be back!

We had a lovely relaxing week at the Old Well Bungalow, it was one of the nicest places we have stayed at.

The owners are very friendly and welcoming. There was a lovely welcome pack including milk, bread, biscuits Welsh cakes and even wine! The bungalow was spotlessly clean and there was everything that you could possibly need. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and it was so nice to be able to let him out without that fear of him escaping! All in all ,a lovely place to stay. Ps, we also really enjoyed feeding Harriet the horse with carrots and apples!

One of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in.

Theresa, our host, was so welcoming and friendly and on the one occasion we had a problem she quickly dealth with it. On arrival we were greeted with a few 'foodie treats' and the property was exceptionally well equiped and maintained. The location was good as we had family nearly and were able to explore this lovely part of Wales. We highly recommend this property and hope we get the opportunity to return

Really enjoyable week.

The property is immaculate and the owners very friendly. Above average welcome pack was much appreciated. Brodie loved the doggy treats and enclosed garden. Ideal base to explore South East Wales. Pub just a 5 minute walk served excellent food. Would have no hesitation is staying here again

Loved the place ideal for a short drive in to Cardiff.

And couple of dog friendly pubs short walk away.very clean and well looked after place.

Our short break at the Old Well Bungalow was the best we could have asked for.

We wanted rest and relaxation and that's what we got here! Great location as a base for either exploring the local countryside or driving to some of the popular places. The bungalow was as described, lovely, clean and very comfortable for me, my Husband and our little dog.

Well you couldn't wish for a warmer welcome from Theresa, John and family to Old Well Bungalow.

Lovely spacious and light filled Bungalow, nicely furnished and with every you could want for a holiday retreat in a peaceful location. The welcome pack of Welsh cakes, bread, milk, butter and jam etc was much appreciated. Would I recommend Old Well Bungalow to others? A definite YES and would I go back, again a YES (although I might take my own pillows as found those supplies were quite hard - but appreciate this is a personal choice). Ideal location for visiting the many wonderful sites within that part of Wales (recommend St Fagan National Museum of History (& apart from a £6 parking fee its free to get in) and Raglan Castle. If you visit Caerphilly Castle beware of the Pigeon Poo on the handrails and also there is a lot of construction work taking place , so a lot of the castle is off limits, including the toilets and there are no nearby public toilets. Also Sykes descriptions states there is a freezer, but this is not a stand alone freezer, but rather a small freezer/ice box in the fridge, although this was not a problem for us. One of the nicest Sykes cottages we have stayed in and a credit to Theresa & John.

The Old Well Bungalow is lovely and comfy. We brought along our 7 weeks old, they provided a travel cot and even a little towel. Extremely welcoming and thoughtful.
