The Positives: The property was spotlessly clean throughout, which was very much appreciated upon arrival.
The location is excellent, being both convenient and well-situated for exploring the area. There were plenty of plug sockets throughout, and the bedroom sockets conveniently included USB ports for charging devices. The hot tub was a welcome feature and enjoyable to use, although it is a bit dated, as a few of the jets kept popping out and floating during use. Points for Improvement: While we enjoyed our stay, several minor issues and operational oversights detracted from the overall experience. Host communication was particularly lacking. The Wi-Fi password was not provided anywhere in the property or in prior correspondence. We sent a text message to the owners on the provided contact number at 18:22 requesting the Wi-Fi details, but received no response. A second message was sent at 22:11 when the microwave unexpectedly switched into demo mode, but again, we received no reply at all during our stay. The following day, just by chance, when we looked at the back of the TP-Link router, one of the markings read PASSWORD/PIN. We tried that and it worked. There was also a complete lack of instructions regarding waste disposal. While two bin receptacles were available under the sink, there was no mention of where to place rubbish on departure, especially as the only outside bin was secured with a locked chain. We had to rely on common sense to separate recycling and general waste. Kitchen appliances and amenities need attention. The gas oven took some time to figure out, as the temperature indicator light stayed on continuously with no clear sign of when it had preheated. Furthermore, the built-in timer was running slow, taking roughly 14 minutes to elapse for a 10-minute setting. Kitchenware was also lacking, with no cereal bowls provided, forcing us to use soup plates instead. In the bathrooms, there were no bath mats or bins provided. Lastly, storage in the second twin bedroom was restricted, as the wardrobe was largely occupied by the owner's personal belongings, leaving space to hang clothes but no room to store suitcases out of the way. To summarise: A clean property in a fantastic location with good potential, but host communication, basic kitchen and bathroom essentials, and appliance maintenance certainly need attention to bring the guest experience up to scratch.
Beautiful lodge, very comfortable, very relaxing hot tub was amazing .
But down sides is there was cob webs in corners and by fire place, no bath mats , a coffee machine would of been nice and a barbecue would of been good too, and i know it didn't say about a welcome pack but would of been nice if they do that, .
Lodge was spotless, spacious and extremely comfortable.
We came in the run up to Easter so unfortunately only had one dry day but I’m sure the lodge would be amazing when it’s sunny . We had a few issues on arrival with the boiler for heating & hot water but this was quickly resolved by a phone call to the owner. I only have one gripe - not enough mugs only 4- Meaning washing up everytime you want a drink -& also could do with a smaller omelette pan - as only one huge frying pan. Overall great stay !
