What guests are saying
The pictures are not a true portrayal of the beach shack, the decking is actually very worn, extremely slippery and has boards that move and easily tripped over.
There is cobwebs and dust everywhere the walls and ornaments are covered in them. Big gaps in the window frames allowing insects in and cold air. Dead woodlice in almost every room and some live ones. Gaps in the wall of both bedrooms allowing daylight to be seen and once again allowing insects in. Dirty cutlery and drawers, filthy glasses, thick grease on the splash back of hob. Bbq was left by the picnic bench was very dangerous due to metal bars it was resting on and put together with wire, bars were sticking out, one slip on the decking and you would be impaled. My husband wanted to leave after one night, but I persuaded him to stay a few more nights, which I regret now. I don't think the owner has visited in a while and needs to address so many problems.
I’ve stayed in Ferrypoint before at the other lodges.
This had great charm & was really cosy. My sausage dog loved watching the bunnies through the picket fence. It you managed to put a microwave on a shelf by the spice rack I would give it 5 stars. The front & back door were quirky. You could see bats & hear owls in the night. The beach walks are fantastic.
Second visit to the Beach Shack was as good as the first.
Took my great niece and nephews, 9&7 yr olds. In there words Cosy cabin, comfy beds, safe to play around the cabin and garden. Pretty flowers. Good beaches and swimming in the sea with their Auntie. Crabbing and cockling. Can we come again next year? What more can I say.
