Rusty Boathouse

What an absolutely beautiful experience staying here was.

We spent hours in the hot tub and on the deck chairs just watching the wildlife in the day and the bats at night. The little lake was beautiful with loads of dragonflies and damselflies zipping around. We had a go in the rowing boat which was pure fun and laughter inducing. The lodge was very well laid out, clean and very discreet, although there are other lodges nearby we never saw anyone during our stay (exactly what we wanted). We loved it so much we want to come back again. Very peaceful and very beautiful. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into this lodge. The most relaxing 3 nights we’ve had in a long time. I can’t even think of anything negative about this place, it was pure bliss. Oh and how could I forget the alpacas, we had a little meet n greet with them when we arrived. This place has to be on the top of your list of places to go.

Beautiful - We have just got back from The Rusty Boathouse, we stayed the May bank holiday Monday for 2 nights so we were super lucky and had amazing weather ☀️ It is beautiful, exactly like the photos, the fire pit outside has since been upgraded and now is gas which we found super easy to use.

Inside there is air conditioning which we definitely needed and was grateful for. It’s in such a peaceful location and only a 10 minute drive into New Quay where we went to spend the day. Highly recommend this place. Like some others have said, if I was to be reallyyyy picky, it would have been nice to have a blind on the kitchen/living area door.

An amazing staycation!

Location was perfectly secluded and peaceful. The views with the sunrise/sunsets were stunning! Even though the weather wasn’t great it was the perfect accommodation for a cosy few days, the weather couldn’t stop us using the hot tub either! Highly recommended! We’ll definitely be back!

I can honestly say it exceeded all my expectations.

The lodge itself was immaculate. It struck the perfect balance between luxury and relaxation, making it so easy to unwind and fully enjoy the experience. Waking up to the gorgeous views each morning was an absolute highlight. What truly made the stay exceptional, though, was the atmosphere. It felt private, tranquil, and special — the perfect escape from everyday life. Whether relaxing inside or enjoying the outdoor space, everything about it felt seamless and well maintained. When leaving with my partner we had regrets that we didn’t book longer!! If I had to suggest one small improvement, it would simply be adding a blind to the sliding door. I would absolutely return and highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful, high-quality getaway. It was a truly memorable experience. Thank you so much.

Perfect autumn break.

The rusty boat house is cosy & well equipped , with the added bonus of a beautiful sea view over the pond. The hot tub is secluded with the lovely addition of trailing lights. We have stayed in all 3 pods now and will continue to visit. It’s a great base to venture out and explore different places. New Quay is one of our favourites.

A soon as we unlocked the door it took our breath away.

It was so warm and private I can’t emphasise enough how perfect it was. We went away for a short minymoon and we definitely will be going back. It was November so we thought it would be cold, it was warm enough to the point of needing the air con on one night. The hot tub had an airlock (no fault of anyone’s) and it turned off. The owner was round with someone to fix it within the hour. I could not fault them. It was quiet and peaceful, we had alpacas opposite us which were lovely to watch. When we were departing he wished us fair well and also went to fetch some scissors to help us cut our wedding ribbons off our car for our drive home. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you!

Absolutely stunning accommodation.

That actually looked like the listing. Was really lovely. The hot tub looked super clean and was really nice to sit in. Only thing I will mention that was a bit questionable was the toilet door, there may aswell not of been one. It doesnt shut, (doesnt have a latch) its a swing door with an open bottom and top. if you shut it up it just falls open. luckily me and my partner are quite comfortable with each other, otherwise it might've been a little awkward. I will still give 5* because the accommodation was that nice! would stay again for sure! Also beautiful views, including cute Alpacas! Thanks for a lovely stay :)

What a gem, the location is brilliant, peaceful, picturesque and despite a small issue on arrival re water supply, which the host fixed immediately which was very reassuring, I loved staying here.

The fridge is ample sized - we took frozen meals which we left in the fridge for our 4 night stay. The kitchen area is well equipped - cooker, m/wave, kettle, toaster etc. Bathroom area is excellent. Hot tub very relaxing. What's not to like. Everything was just first class.

Absolutely fabulous.

Loved it.

Property is so nice and such a nice escape from the real work however, An extra blind on the left door and widow as the sun comes through and wakes you up, maybe a bigger place to hang up clothes bigger bed side tables so you can put more than just a drink on them, however everything else was perfect,.

Lovely modern little pod.

Feels very luxurious. Felt very spoilt with the scenery and hot tub. Very clean and perfect for what we wanted. Close to local shops, restaurants and beaches.

Such a stunning glamping pod.

So relaxing by the pond, everything you need and an excellent location for coastal walks and attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Rusty Boathouse.

We absolutely loved it.

Very private , really nice lodge with lovely scenery and wildlife from the lake to the birds tapping at the window in the morning. Can't wait to return tbh. Needless to say we were very happy with our stay.

It was generally nice place however thought it was lacking a bit of maintenance.

The outside lights weren’t working fully and the door to the toilet was broken at the hinge. There were also a few wood lice crawling around which indicates moisture- although I don’t expect there to be no insects or anything like that especially in the countryside! Also, although not important, it would have been nice to get some personal touches or welcome messages, even just a bottle of champagne or a box of chocolates. If these aspects were addressed, it would be 10/10 as the place was easy to find with lots of parking and the overall layout of the place was pleasant.

Honestly such a lovely place would definitely recommend if your looking to get away with your partner

Arriving to an absolutley freezing accommodation after a 4.

5 HR drive was certainly not welcoming. It took ages( hours in fact) for the pod to warm up and made the first impression not that great. At 2.30pm maybe just start to heat it up, I get not heating all day but for an hour before you arrive would have made a big difference. The pod is stunning looking and the view was beautiful, however I feel a few tweaks would make it fantastic all year round. Kitchen/ sitting area The big glass door was really hard to open, very hard to slide at the start for my husband, so possibly needs looking at. We didn't use the hot tub so can't comment on that. I loved the huge selection of coffee & teas which was a nice touch and ample recycling bins. There was no where to put our food apart from fridge items, no shelf and limited space on the sides. A little shelf above the bins would work and move the picture above the sofa to look at would improve the blank wall as well. I found the heater quite tricky to use - turn on and temp up down did not really work how it should. It's almost delayed in action so better instructons would be helpful. This area has no blind, so the morning light does come in. Bedroom Sitting on the chairs was nice but a little table to place a drink would be fab as it would make that better than reaching the the floor for drinks. Most TV channels didn't work ( we tried a few times) just kept saying no signal but thankfully the TV had Netflix so we watched that. Raising the blind in the morning to look out on to the lake was a highlight of this trip. The bed/ mattress was soft but the divets in it were uncomfortable to us. The pillows were also soft but I guess this a preference thing. Bedside tables were rustic and charming but I could only just fit my phone on it with a glass for bed. Bathroom The toilet door was clunky and creaky and banged shut, the toilet has a constant trickle and this was annoying at night and the toilet area never got warm in all our time there. Free robes and slippers were a nice touch. What I loved Ample coffees, privacy, peace, birds, llamas, the view and relaxing. This feels like a summer house and so in winter gives a very different holiday, I'd love to come in summer as I think sitting outside enjoying summer days and nights would be completely different. A beautiful pod with some great features. We were worried that staying in the lake view might mean other people walking round but no one bothered us and the view was beautiful ❤️ I would return here as all my gripes are minor things and didn't ruin our stay in any way.

Lovely owners, reassured us if we needed any help they were at arms reach.

However no help was needed because the boathouse had everything we needed.

Absolutely stunning, me and my partner stayed in the rusty boathouse on the 21st till 24th December.

The 3 nights was too short so next time we will have to stay longer.. really enjoyed our stay , we looked up the other two accommodations (the piglet and the tripod) and these two also look amazing. Thinking maybe stay in one of those next time ,my partners idea as I said I want to stay in the rusty boathouse as the view of the lake to wake upto in the morning was amazing.. thank you and see you in the new year ..

We had a lovely stay at the rusty Boathouse.

The main issues and recommendations we would have is that when we arrived at 4pm, the Boathouse was very,very cold and took a couple of hours to come up to temperature. I think consideration needs to be given during the winter months to have the property warm for guests arrivals. There is limited space for hanging clothes and no where to put other items of clothing ,so technically living out of suitcase for the week. There is also no where to hang outdoor coats. This didn't spoil our stay, but would recommend taking these into consideration for future guests.

Everything about the property was 5 star, from the facilities, the little extras tea coffee etc, the hot tub, rain shower, comfy bed, the view over the large pond was fabulous when the electric blind went up remotely.

We had superb sightings of a Red Kite and a Kingfisher from the comfort of our bed and also the 3 Alpacas for neighbours and a moorehen that came looking through the windows for breakfast every day. The owners were on always on hand if anything was needed but never intrusive. This place definitely had the WOW factor.

A fantastic property in a lovely location.

Loved the wheelbarrow used for carrying luggage on the short walk to the boathouse. Although 3 properties, very well spread out so extremely private & quiet. Gorgeous views across the fields with several alpacas nearby. The boathouse itself had everything you could need. Very comfortable & great viewing due to the full length glass windows, which opened out onto a deck & small lake. Very central for getting around, Aberaeron & Newquay a short drive away. Highly recommend this property, the most relaxing few days had.

Lovely place I would 100% go again

W shave a brilliant week, we really needed it and it was worth every penny.

Beautiful pod and the lake was amazing. Watching the bats at night from the tub was especially wonderful. Would definitely recommend this place.

An absolutely AMAZING stay at the rusty boathouse.

Would 100% recommend to anyone and already looking at when we could return. The boathouse was modern, clean and had the most incredible views and facilities. Everything was easy to use and the owners were on hand for any questions or requests we had.

Relaxing beautiful stunning setting with views and bird song to help you unwind and switch off. Very private and secluded corner plot on the family farm. Dylan, friendly and approachable should you need to contact him as the owner. All your required kitchen accessories available, Nespresso coffee machine, comfy bed, lovely rain shower, bath robes, towels, outdoor seating and the hot tub all provided. It was a perfect few days honeymoon for us. Everything we hoped for and so much more. Just perfect.

We love the peace and quiet! The hot tub was lush. The pond with the boat was great fun! The local food was amazing. The moody cow would 100% recommend! Thank you so much. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful place to stay and I’d come back.

The scenery was beautiful and the birds that visited each day were spectacular. The hot tub was lovely, hot and clean and we enjoyed sitting out in the evening with a fire on the go. The owners were lovely when we met but they didn’t bother us at all very kind. We loved the local places to visit and we totally recommend the moody cow with their delicious food at a very good price.

An absolute stunning place

We stayed at the Rusty Boathouse for 3 nights to celebrate our Mini-Honeymoon!

Our stay was just perfect, we had everything we needed, the views were impeccable and the hot tub was just what we needed to relax. We loved waking up and sitting watching the wildlife in bed - we sat and watched a red kite eating in the tree - just amazing! We can recommend a day trip to New Quay for boat trips and dolphin spotting, we had a lovely meal at The Hive and a lovely breakfast at The Moody Cow. Thank you for a lovely stay we didn’t want to come home!

Absolute bliss in beautiful surroundings!

Just returned from a 7 night stay at The Rusty Boathouse. Absolutely beautiful accommodation, modern decor and everything you would need for a lovely stay. The hot tub was amazing, fire pit fabulous and lovely outside recliner chairs to relax in. The Boathouse has all modern features, electric blinds, air con for both hot and cold heating, TV, superb internet connection, comfy bed, fabulous power shower and complimentary robes and slippers. Nice touches on arrival, snacks, range of teas and coffees and espresso coffee machine. There wasn’t anything missing. Lovely comfy sofa, bar stools, micro, toaster and more. The scenery is stunning. The sound of the birds, the ripples on the pond and the adorable alpacas in the nearby field. Fabulous, welcoming hosts who were nearby for any issues but who also left you to complete privacy. If you want to relax, de-stress and chill this is the place to be! Nearby shop and pub and lovely farm shop and bistro nearby. This is really a countryside treat, you will not be disappointed. If we could give it 6 out of 5 we would. The owners have done a fab job on this site and we wish them all the best for the future. Well done and thank you for an amazing stay!

Amazing property and location, Enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and watching the alpacas in the field behind Weather wasn’t the best but meant we actually stayed in more than we would normally and appreciated the stay Would definitely recommend and stay again

This place is an absolute gem.

You certainly will not be disappointed. Only thing that wasn’t great was the weather, but it was December but when you have great views, a hot tub and fire pit it didn’t matter!!!

Wow what a stunning place!

We came for a romantic holiday to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary and we didn't want to go home. The property had everything we could hope for and more, set in such a beautiful location. Despite the rain, we lived every minute of our stay.

A welcoming start from the moment we arrived.

The property was Immaculate, guidance how to use equipment was at hand, all the furnishings was finished to a high standard. The property is based in such a quaint location with plenty of privacy and amazing views. The vision of the decking, with the boat like Dock, will be forever remembered.

The rusty boat house was a superb place to stay in tranquil surroundings.

Views were amazing and the decor throughout was stunning. The place had everything we needed for a great stay. Hot tub was very relaxing and the log burner on an evening was great to sit out with. The owners were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. All in all an amazing place and will be returning again. They should be proud of what they have achieved.

Qwerty but lovely. Lot of thought gone into designing. Would go again especially if weather was nice. Weather was rainy but still chilled out. Hot tub great. Nice touch with fire pit also.

We came for our 4 day honeymoon and it was wonderful. Peaceful, modern, stylish and close to the sea. We couldn't ask for anything else. We'll be back next year for sure. Thanks for everything

We came here in may 2023 and it was definitely worth it!

We never wanted to leave. Owners were so lovely and were happy to help at any time. They provided all the essentials and had a coffee machine which was a nice surprise. We would love to go again next year. It was so peaceful and in a great location. 10/10 recommend especially for couples

Absolutely PERFECT!

Did not disappoint, from comfort, cleanliness, stylish, privacy, romantic, relaxing & just beautiful. Probably our favourite place we've ever had a short stay, we actually didn't want to leave! Friendly helpful owners (sydd yn siarad cymraeg) & complementary snacks on arrival. Kitchen had everything we needed (not that we chose to cook) but all essentials were covered, the only thing extra we could have done with were some plastic tumblers to use outside. I also need to comment on the hot tub, my husband and I both commented on how it wasn't full of chemicals that made your skin smell of chlorine or itch. It was absolute bliss, clean and the perfect temperature. We missed out on a cozy night around the fire pit (by choice) as the winds were up & we didn't want ash blowing all around the grounds through the night. One thing we thought may have benefited the outdoor seating area was a table, it would have been nice to enjoy breakfast outside or just to relax with a book & a drink by your side - I say book but I definitely wouldn't have read a thing because I couldn't take my eyes off the amazing wildlife! Book The Rusty Boathouse, you won't be disappointed! Can't wait to come back :-)

The Rusty Boathouse is absolutely amazing.

Comfortable, clean and the surrounding area is breathtaking. The hot tub was a bonus! We would recommend this property to anyone and we can’t wait to return!

Very well equipped and comfortable accommodation, located in the most peaceful surroundings.

What a relaxing way to spend the evening sitting on the deck or in the hot tub watching the sunset or listening to the birds and watching the ducks with a morning cuppa. The property is superb and exactly as described (the photos make it look stunning but it was even better in real life!) It felt very private even though our neighbour was close by. The owners were on hand if needed and have thought of everything to make the whole holiday feel like a special treat! We would love to return and explore more of this beautiful part of Wales.

Would definitely recommend this property, the interior is gorgeous and being able to walk out to the pond is such a unique feature; we loved watching the ducks.

The peace and quiet was much needed and our stay was super relaxing. The hot tub was an added bonus and added to the overall relaxation.

We loved it!

When I walked through the door I was astonished. The only thing I missed out on was somewhere to put all my clothes, there is a place in the bathroom for t-shirts but a little bedside drawer would be good for socks etc :) also, the morning light woke us up at 6am on Sunday because there isn't a blind over the kitchen door, light goes around corners! We ended up putting the black throw over the TV which thankfully blocked the light the next morning. Also, there's nowhere to do your hair i.e straightening or blow-drying because the only mirror is in the bathroom but you can't plug your hairdryer or straighteners in for obvious reasons, a little mirror in the bedroom would be good for this :) They were literally the only things I can think of that I had trouble with :) Everything else was perfect. The tea and biscuit cabinet was a lovely touch, the hot tub and fire pit were amazing! And clearly the views of the Welsh country side were beautiful. Would definitely stay again and again.

Our stay in the Rusty Boathouse was perfect.

Totally relaxing, tranquil and comfortable. It contained everything we needed. Waking up to the view of the pond and all the wildlife was a real tonic!! Coming back from exploring the coastal paths and lovely area, then chilling out in the hot tub was just magic. We found ourselves wanting to stay in for the evening. The restaurants etc. mentioned in the information booklet were really good. The owners are a lovely friendly family. They gave us some good tips. We liked visiting the Bluebell in Newquay... had breakfast in the upstairs window seat watching the sea, and people watching, then had a boat trip watching the dolphins. Had a couple of lunches in Aberaeron too. Crab linguini in the Harbour Hotel was delicious, as was sharing tapas in Y Seler. The Moody Cow (cafe,restaurant, and farmshop) just down the road is really nice, for breakfast lunch and dinner. Well worth a visit, but we got most of our pleasure from eating in our lovely accomodation. What lovely memories we've made. We would love to return - in fact we didn't want to leave......

If you’re in 2 minds about booking this place…book it.

The Rusty Boathouse is truly amazing, the pictures are great but the boathouse is better in real life. The boathouse is lovely and quiet and private and has all the amenities you need for a short stay. On our second day we drove 2 hours to summit Snowdon, when we came back it was lovely to chill out in the hot tub and sit and warm up by the fire. It really was pure relaxation.

The boathouse is absolutely beautiful!

The view is speechless, soo quiet and perfect for when it’s hot. Everything was clean and even got welcomed with loads of snacks to eat! The hot tub is perfect, the lights outside at night with the fire going was a dream. The only thing that was disappointing was the restaurants, we visited a few places listed in the book at the boathouse and can say they are not worth visiting! Staff are rude and the food was poor.

Absolutely lovely property.

The property was very clean and homely. Lovely touches with the robe and slippers. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others. One day we had a problem with the wifi but the owners resolved the issue within minutes, they were very helpful and friendly.

The property was lovely and in a nice place.

A couple of cobwebs around the blinds, and the blind for the bedroom did not work. Other than that we loved it, bed was comfy and the boathouse was very technologically advanced.

Ill start by saying even with the the best of stays i never write reviews however i booked this accommodation as a late birthday / anniversary surprise.

The photos before going looked great and fitted in well with our requirements as I always book similar accomodation. Most weekends away start and finish the same way, great to be away but can't wait to be home. However I can't remember ever feeling so relaxed coming home and looking forward to booking again. The location is perfect, so tranquil. Aberaeron was only 15 minutes away and was a great afternoon out with a fab lunch at The Hive We did visit the local pub, The Llanina Arms on the second day which was nice and may be walkable in the summer. With only 2 accommodation types on site we had the quiet and privacy we wanted. The Rusty Boathouse was spotless with all amenities we would want and need. Coffee maker with coffees and tea. Snacks of crisps and waffles. Fully equipped kitchen with all extras (didn't need to use my own cleaning products, foil, kitchen roll). The bed was amazingly comfy and the shower and washroom area didn't disappoint. The quality finish of this accommodation was perfect. Wifi was available and we had no issues with the signal at all, fully connected at all times. Whilst there was a portable heater and a wall mounted heater/ air conditioning unit available in the kitchen/ lounge are we had no reason to use this. The heater in the bedroom was powerful enough to heat the whole unit. We did need to turn it off half way though the evening as even though it was 1 degree outside the accommodation retained heat. The outside area was amazing and so relaxing. Spent a few hours in the tub watching the resident ducks and cat. I would not hesitate to stay again. If quality, relaxing time is what you need then this is the perfect stay. Totally outstanding and it takes a lot to impress me enough to write a review.

We absolutely loved our stay with you it is the perfect getaway!

You had everything and more we would need and it really felt like a home away from home. It has the perfect balance between being in the middle of nowhere with beautiful surroundings that created a peaceful atmosphere but also being a close enough drive to multiple town, places to eat and shops. We will definitely be returning!!

An amazing place to stay ,lovely views and a wonderful place to have has a base to go out and about .

The Llanina Arms is about a 20 minute walk and you will certainly work up an appetite . The moody cow has a breakfast to keep you going all day .would love to go again in the summer and use the hot tub a lot more .

Was an amazing few days in the lodge, really enjoyed and the place was very clean and fresh.

Everything needed was provided and the views from outside were amazing.

Absolutely beautiful property, spotlessly clean, everything we needed, lovely and warm, peaceful and quiet.

The owner very accessible and helpful. Couldn't ask for more, a little gem. The wheelbarrow was fabulous.

We really enjoyed the cleanliness of the lodge and how comfy and roomy the king size bed was.

Having the TV was great and we only lost internet the first night for a few hours but it was fine for the rest of our stay. The hot tub was also a great addition. Unfortunately the heating barely worked most of the time. We were lucky enough to have brought a small heater but if we hadn't then we would have been forced to do the 4 hour drive home due to the unbearable freezing temperatures.Another minor issue we had was that we woke up to puddles of water from condensation on the bottom of the windows in the bedroom and bathroom areas. In the end, we decided to cut our trip short by two days as our heater had been working over time and it was becoming painfully cold in the lodge most of the time. Overall it was such a shame as this major issue really let down our stay which was other wise wonderful and unique.

I recently stayed here with my partner for our anniversary and his birthday.

It is an absolutely beautiful pod to stay in! The owners also decorated the pod for his birthday. I will definitely be recommending this holiday to my friends and family. The only thing I would suggest is to have a cover over the hot tub in the winter months.

Property as described, clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we could need. The bed was very comfortable. Especially loved the little extras available to use such as slippers and robes, perfect for when using the hot tub. We can't wait to book another stay

The rusty boathouse is a gorgeous house!

It was as expected. My husband and I spend our anniversary weekend and it made it a perfect stop. Our fist day was raining and still was beautiful but by evening the sun came out and we hesitated to use the jacuzzi because we thought we had to fill it up and wait hours to warm up but to our surprise it was ready, that was amazing! We would highly recommend this place and I would definitely come back and stay for longer. If you follow them on Instagram they’ll let you know when dates became available in case you are looking to make a last minute booking.

The Rusty Boathouse is stunning.

It’s peaceful and quiet, the most you hear really is the birds and the occasional cow or sheep. It is easy to find and the parking is good. The Boathouse is a short walk and we loved the wheelbarrow to help carry your things. Inside it is finished to a high standard and is a lovely as the photos show. You have a beautiful view of the pond, the alpacas and the sea in the distance from all rooms and the patio and hot tub. We also made good use of the fire pit. The kitchen is well equipped including a Nespresso machine. You are only 4 miles from New Quay and Aberaeron, bot are worth visiting. We also enjoyed a day in Cardigan. If we had any quibbles they were minor and more suggestions really, perhaps separate outdoor table and chairs, a small chest of drawers and a cupboard space in the kitchen for food. This is a new venture and the owners were really helpful. We wish them every success and will certainly be returning.
