Wonderful place to stay, very welcoming and helpful host.

Superb location for harbour villages and beaches, all within a 15 minute drive and a good base to travel further. Hut is amazingly equipped for such small accommodation, the main appeal was it being completely contained allowing our small dog to roam as he pleased! Absolutely recommended 5

It was a beautiful place but unfortunately we were there with this heatwave we are having and it was to hot for my friends little dog so we came home a day early.

Highly recommend place to stay. Lovely touches in the hut when we arrived, milk, bread, Welsh cakes, butter. There is everything you need to relax and unwind. The owner is really friendly, greeted us when we arrived. Will be back

We had an amazing 2 nights at Collen, the hunt is located on the edge of a woods which is the most idyllic place.

Our 2 spaniels loved it as it was dog friendly and they could roam free within the fenced area and we could relax and not worry about them being safe. There is also a woodland walk opposite the hunt which you can use, which the dogs enjoyed as there was also a stream. The owners were really welcoming. We will definitely being returning. Thank you for a lovely break.

We had a wonderful stay at Collen - it is a special place.

We were totally smitten from the point of arrival - everything just fell into place, from the directions we were following to how we collected our keys. We entered the Shepherds Hut to find a wonderful surprise `Welcome Pack` from one of the local businesses. The hut was warm and cosy. Every detail has been carefully thought about in order to ensure that visitors and their pets have the most enjoyable time. We will certainly be returning.

The accommodation has everything you can need. Perfect location with lots on the doorstep including walks, beaches lovely villages with good food.

What a wonderful stay!

The shepherd's hut was incredible. We arrived to a welcome pack which included a bag of logs and kindling. Chris introduced himself and showed us around which was helpful and he was always at the end of the phone. Wonderful woodland walks for the dogs and, as we were there over the new year, we had snow! It was lovely to look out with the burner roaring and the kettle on. Thanks for a lovely stay - and we're hoping to come back in the Spring!

The sign to the entrance was a little hard to see in the dark, but that was our fault as we arrived later then we wanted to, but the actual accommodation and stay was brilliant.

We wanted somewhere we could relax and escape reality for a few days and we certainly got that. We enjoyed walking our dog in the woods on site and a mud daddy was even provided so we could give the dog a good clean before letting him in the hut. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was brilliant, possibly even better then the one at home. Really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be booking again in the future.

We had a great stay.

Chris greeted us when we first arrived and was really helpful during our stay. The hut was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. The location was quiet and relaxing and it was nice to sit outside after a day out and enjoy the the beautiful surroundings. Our dog is an old boy but he enjoyed pottering around the enclosed garden. It's an ideal location for local beaches and towns. The bread you provided on arrival was so good we decided pop into Aberaeron to get some more before we left. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Wow what a special place collen is.

.. from the location right down to the little homely touches provided. Chris and Fern have thought of everything!! On arrival we were met with locally produced bread, Welsh cakes, milk and butter such a treat. The property is fenced securely all around, reinforced with chicken wire so even our little escape artist dog could not find a way out so we could relax. There is a woodland walk straight opposite from the property which we had to ourselves and felt was a good hours walk, in peace and just the wildlife for company. If your looking for a complete switch off and back to nature get away then this is your place.

The cottage was just so beautiful!

Everything we needed was there and Chris came over to welcome us and give some helpful tips. The cottage was situated in a stunning area with a beautiful wooded walk. Our doggy was catered for in every way, including the fence being enforced with wiring to keep our little one fenced in. I honestly have no gripes as this was a wonderful stay. God bless.

Beautiful hut with well thought out facilities and amenities and a lovely welcome tray of yummy goodies, coffee, tea, jam etc when we arrived plus milk and butter in the fridge.

Lovely hot shower and comfy bed too. Chris went out of his way to make sure we were happy and comfortable and we had everything we could possibly need. They had literally thought of everything. Such a beautiful area to explore with some fabulous walks, beautiful beaches and lovely little towns plus the woodland walk on site is a great bonus (well mapped out). Would definitely recommend and hope to be back at some point. It was a wonderful place for our first adventure in Wales. Thank you so much!

Wow, wow, wow!

! A picture perfect location for the weekend, surrounded by the most beautiful and tranquil meadow, the photos do not do the scenery justice! Although there are 3 shepherd's huts they are all very private and not overlooked, highly recommended for total peace, quiet and relaxation. The owners have given comlete attention to detail, even the woodland walk opposite the huts with benches to rest on, markers to direct you and wooden steps to make the walk safe - our black lab fell in love with this place as we did too! Five out of five from us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A lovely place to stay.

Nice and quiet with plenty of garden space and communal garden space as well, with a lovely private forest/woodland walk on the doorstep. We took the Dogs with us and so it was just what we were looking for. A 10 minute drive to Aberaeron where we spent a lot of our time visiting the beaches, eating out, and just exploring. Chris was very welcoming and had left us some nice goodies (sourdough bread, Welsh cakes, milk, eggs, etc) which was lovely to arrive to. There is a fire-pit with everything provided that is needed to get one going, so we enjoyed sitting round the fire a couple of nights playing some of the games that were available (Jenga, card games, Chess). Overall a lovely stay, would recommend it to somebody looking for a short, quiet and peaceful break with the Dogs and we imagine that we will be back. Thanks again, Chris!

Collen was idyllic - the hut is lovely and clean and has everything you need.

It’s set in a beautiful meadow and the three huts each have their own gardens (all securely fenced off). There is a lilac tree in Collen which was full of butterflies for most of the day! There is also a woodland walk on site, which was made more accessible as the path was clear and where necessary had bridges and handrails for assistance. The owners Fern and Chris were both very friendly and helpful. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and family. Loved it!

We had a very enjoyable few days in Collen on 0akleigh farm.

It's set in an idyllic position ideal for a relaxing break. Collen was an extremely comfortable and quite luxurious shepherds hut, with real attention to detail. (who knew shepherds lived like this!)

This really was a lovely place like a special tucked away retreat and just what the doctor ordered for me and my husband and our two dogs - the hosts were really lovely too and nothing was too much trouble xx the place was spotless and had everything you needed xx lovely walks on your doorstep xx I would highly recommend for a quiet little getaway for sure ❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely beautiful!

The hut was immaculate, finished to such a high standard with a private garden as a bonus extra. A welcome gift of bread, butter, eggs, milk and Welsh cakes waiting on arrival. Chris and Fern introduced themselves and were so so nice. Woodland walk just across the path that is maintained by them and wild meadow surrounding the 3 huts. Just a magical holiday and I can't wait to book again. My dogs were welcome too! Thank you both and I wish you success! Heather, Finn and Betty xxx

What a fantastic place to stay for a few days to explore Cardigan Bay or just relax in the birdsong and sunshine and enjoy the woodland walks.

The dogs loved it even more than me! The hut itself is cleverly designed and very thoughtfully and tastefully styled and equipped. Will definitely be back.

What a beautiful shepherd's hut with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

The interior is well kitted out with beautiful touches such as a log burner, powerful shower, heating, a comfy bed, air fryer and seating area. We were greeted with a lovely welcome hamper, which was greatly received. The grounds are stunning. With outside seating to see the stars, your own garden, fenced off and fantastic private woodlands with various walks to explore. Chris made us feel right at home and was always a text away if we needed anything. It's also the perfect retreat for dogs and two are welcome, which was lovely for us! Thank you for a beautiful stay and we hope to come back again in the future!

Collen the shepherd’s hut is an extremely special place to stay.

Tucked away through some woodland, surrounded by nature, it’s an ideal retreat. The hut has been so well designed with every detail of everything you may need to make a comfortable stay as special as possible. The shower was great, hot & good pressure. The bed was sumptuous & lovely big quilt (I’d just suggest a mattress cover for cleanliness). I loved the Kew Crockery along with every shape & size glass, bowl etc . It took me a little time to get my head around the air fryer but a very good idea. I’d suggest little heat proof bowls that can be used for poaching eggs/smaller portions . I really appreciated the coffee, condiments & olive oil spray - how thoughtful! As per the cloths, bags etc Thank you for the gorgeous fluffy towels & body wash etc . I was all ready & hoped to use the little burner too but it wasn’t chilly enough ! I’ll look forward to using it another time ! Lastly thanks so much Chris & partner for making this such a special place to stay - a break so often doesn’t feel like a break when accommodation doesn’t match up to expectations. It really does feel indulgent & very special Best wishes Jill

Perfect stay.

Friendly owners. Tranquil and good level of privacy. Would 100% recommended! Private woodland walk on your doorstep and many beaches within a short drive away.

We are one of the first people to stay in the beautifully kitted out hut and we were so pleased.

The location is awesome: it’s quiet and peaceful which is exactly what we wanted. It’s also very private as there are only three huts in the vicinity so there aren’t many people wandering around. The three huts are also very spaced apart to ensure there is a lot of privacy and we were not overlooked by anyone. The decor is very modern and colourful. The bathroom very clean and functional - amazingly powerful shower. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you could need for a few days away. We thought it was such a lovely gesture by the hosts Chris and Fern to leave us local goodies. In fact, we loved them so much we went to the shop twice to buy more brownies! The bed was very comfortable and spacious - it was a king sized bed which is fabulous as I’m a light sleeper. We also appreciated that we were provided with wood, charcoal and BBQ tools if we wanted to use the fire pit or have a cook-out. Our dog Tess, who is a Border Collie, also enjoyed herself - the enclosed garden was perfect for us. There were deckchairs available with cushions and a parasol so we were able to soak up the sun one day. We highly recommend this place and will absolutely visit again. I’ve already told family and friends who are more local to Wales that they should come and stay here. Thanks again to our lovely hosts. See you again soon!

Extremely lucky to be the first visitors in Collen, one of 3 gorgeous shepherds huts.

The hut is superbly kitted out with everything you need and so tastefully styled and very thoughtfully designed. Everything is of a very high standard and quality. Very comfortable bed, excellent shower and lovely kitchenette. The huts each have their own beautiful garden with fabulous seating and fire pit and are fully enclosed to keep dogs safe. There is a very well designed shared garden/wildflower area and the huts are far enough apart to give you ample privacy to enjoy your own space. The woodland surroundings are just lovely with a short walk well marked out. The owners were lovely too, very welcoming and friendly and they kindly left for us some delicious local sourdough bread, bara brith and Welsh cakes, fresh eggs from their hens and teas and coffee and condiments. What an absolute treat and to top it all we had fabulous weather! We would definitely love to return and can’t rate it highly enough.
