Description

The Shepherd Hut is a pet-friendly property near the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and is perched on the edge of a National Trust wooded valley.

This hut is perfect for a couple looking for a getaway, as it boasts a woodburning stove and wonderful views, while being close to the coast and several local amenities.

Walk up the steps to enter your new holiday abode.

Claim the corner of the sofa bed and sink into the furniture as you become accustomed to your new, wonderful surroundings.

You will find everything you will need for a self-catered stay.

Cook up something delicious using the combi microwave/oven/grill, air fryer or single induction hob.

Plate it up on the dining table unless the sun is shining, head outside and eat on the garden table.

Store some sweet treats in the fridge or freezer compartment to have outside on the swing bench.

Appreciate the golden view as the sun ebbs away and is replaced by the night time sky.

Gaze up at the twinkling stars, and when the evening breeze is upon you, head back inside.

Curl up by the woodburning stove and, when a yawn approaches, convert the sofa into a bed.

Pick a book to dive into from the selection available before you get some rest.

Start a new day off just right with a refreshing shower ahead of more fun activities.

You have direct access to a path following a pretty stream leading to a sheltered south facing cove, perfect for swimming and coasteering though you may get waylaid by the all ages legendary tree swing on the way.

The cove must be one of the most interesting to swim in and explore with a small waterfall to swim under into a shallow cave at high tide and a natural diving pool in the rocks to enjoy at low tide.

Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 1177394, 1177458, and 1177449, together sleeping up to 14 guests.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with the accommodation during our recent stay as it wasn't as presentable as the listing images.

There were spider webs and a dead moth around the bathroom sink, as well as spider webs around the main doors near the kitchen area. The ceiling light was missing a bulb, dirty and not working at all. Some of the plates in the kitchen were also stained from previous guests use and needed to be washed before use. We sadly weren't able to make use of the seating outside or the steps down onto the footpath as it was totally overgrown. I also had difficulty with the steps leading down to the shepherds hut, from the parking space provided, due to the safety rail being unstable and loose at the bottom end. I actually had a nasty fall on these steps and there were no first aid supplies in the hut to help with my cuts or bruises. Sadly, neither of the WiFi connections listed in the accommodation information worked at all during our stay. My partner also struggled to sleep on the bed due to it being a sectional bed, rather than a double pull-out bed. Overall, we were left disappointed for the price paid.

The shepherds hut is in an ideal spot for exploring the coast path, it was warm and the sofa bed was alright for a few nights.

The shower was hot and powerful which was great. There is some general housekeeping that needs attention as we got the impression that the place had been left a little unloved. One thing to note, if you are a light sleeper then (as mentioned in the booking info) cars of neighbouring guests can be heard coming and going and this disturbed our sleep as did voices of other guests who spent time in their outdoor space into the early hours. The location is what stands out most for this property.

A lovely stay in the Shepherd's Hut!

Lots of walking and swimming in an area I have loved for many years. Perfect location, and the hut itself was lovely. Particularly enjoyed reading out on the bench on glorious summer evenings with a glass of wine. Only real downsides are the lack of wifi in the hut and the sofa bed rather than a normal bed, but space is limited so it's understandable. Everything else more than made up for it, I had a really wonderful time and I'll hope to return. Thank you!
