Our stay was amazing; so quiet, so comfy, great views and fab location.

Our dogs had the time of their life too! You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, yet only 10 mins from Pontardawe with its many shops, takeaways and restaurants. Many beaches and mountains are within easy reach or walk from the door down the valley, riverside, to Clydach. We will be back!

Put your phone down,soak up the quietness and beautiful views and relax in a spot of wales that gives you the the chance to refresh yourself.

Cabin having all the modern comforts and space to make your stay comfortable. Short trip down to Portadawe,were shops for all you needs are plenty. Michaela our host is so lovely and welcoming,always available if anything crops up that you require information on. Private grass area to stretch out ,or let our dog out onto just made our choice easier. Dont delay book today, you wont be dissapointed.

Fantastic little property and very remote and relaxing like we were after.

We liked the fact it had an enclosed garden and drive area for our 2 dogs to have the freedom to roam. We enjoyed our stay even with the rainy days, at the hot tub was used even in the rain and wind. It was very refreshing

A great lodge with lovely views.

However when we arrived every single window was wide open, which I assumed was due to it just being cleaned but later discovered a strong smell of dog wee in the living room once we shut the windows and the smell didn’t go. I understand this is dog friendly and had my dog with me but this smell was bad and needed a deep clean of the floors and walls to get rid of the smell. Another issue we come across was a old dog chew bone under the bed which my dog had sniffed out and when we retrieved it and shined the torch under the bed we could see lots of dust and dirt. Also do not book this if you have a large dog with high prey drive as the fence is low and lots of sheep close by. We had to keep ours on a lead when going outside in the garden due to it not being secure enough. This should be made clear when booking. Also no black bin bags are provided which made things difficult. The pans all need replacing as are all so scratched. Overall I would say the living area and kitchen all needs a professional deep clean. We did have a good stay however the smell ruined it slightly.

We would have loved to give this stay 5 stars, as the cabin itself is lovely and very well equipped.

It had everything we needed, and the heaters were amazing — a real blessing during our wintry stay. While we really enjoyed our time here, it didn’t completely feel welcoming toward dogs. There are rules about dogs not being allowed on the furniture, and although the garden is nearly secure, the gate could be made dog-proof with something simple like chicken wire. Also the garden is significantly smaller in person than it seems in the pictures. It would be helpful for the dog rules to be clearly stated on the listing before booking, so guests can make an informed choice and avoid any surprises — small details that would make the stay even better for those travelling with pets. Overall, it’s a beautiful cabin with great facilities, and with a little clearer communication it would be an even more welcoming experience for dog owners.

The Cabin is perfectly positioned for isolation and tranquility with spectacular views.

Some check-in issues made us a little nervous before we arrived. Once settled in, all great until we found a water supply issue. Nobody's fault but would have expected a better service to resolve it - we had to flush the loo with water from the hot tub. A very apologetic host came around next day to ensure supply was back on and no further issues/problems. Given the cost of the hire we were loathed to have to sort rubbish / recycling / strip bed linen. Would we stay again? Definitely yes knowing all the above.

This place was absolutely beautiful when we first arrived we couldn’t believe how cosy it felt.

It quickly became our home away from home. The views were a bonus to wake up to every morning. Everything was perfect for us from the moment we arrived to when we packed up. We will definitely be booking again!

Beautiful location - very secluded and perfect to watch the sun go down at night.

Good cooking facilities, hot tub was great, and the paddock for the dog to run in out the front of the cabin is fantastic. Great location - half hour from Swansea & an hour from Pen Y Fan. We had stunning weather, perfect for chilling on the deck in the evenings, however this did mean the cabin got very very hot inside, despite us keeping curtains/blinds closed in the day. I would recommend bringing fans with you if you go in summer. The WiFi can be a bit intermittent at times - but I’m sure that’s an added bonus to some people wanting to switch off! The owner was so lovely and great with communication. A very peaceful break overall - we’d return happily.

My only complaint is that we had to leave after the seven days

Bad bits: 1.

We were devastated and hurt to receive a message on our way home from Sykes, just 2 hours after checkout, saying the owner had reported we had damaged their hot tub. We are conscientious people and looked after everything as if it was our own… so we were of course insulted to be accused so quickly of damage, which we absolutely had not caused. I have to add that there were no photos provided to back up such accusations or even any finer details of what we had supposedly done. This completely put a downer on our holiday. We cleaned the cabin well and left everything immaculately (definitely cleaner than we found it as I swept up dog hair before we left and we don’t have a dog…). I ended up having to make a call to Sykes on our way home about this to message to express my hurt and upset and to try to get some more information, which they didn’t really have… It seems that, sadly, it’s easy for the “Good Housekeeping Bond” to be used against honest, careful visitors as an attempt to get money out of them. How many people are being accused like us? A deeply upsetting experience when this holiday was incredibly needed for us… 2. You have to walk out of the cabin area and through the garden (where you’re fully visible to the owners house) to take the lid off the hot tub. You then have to walk all the way back around again to put it back on afterwards - this makes for a very cold and exposed walk in a swimsuit! Poorly thought out. A set of steps down from the decking would make much more sense and also be safer. 3. It would have been nice to have been told on the booking information that you can expect to have to drive through a very large herd of very stubborn cows to get to the cabin…. Coming back after dinner in the dark and coming face to face with them was very scary and something we had not prepared for… 4. There was a lot of dog hair on the floor when we arrived. 5. The sofas in the cabin are sunk and very unsupportive for your back. 6. Some of the wardrobe door knobs and chest of drawer knobs were missing having broken off and not been replaced. 7. There were several small holes in bedding. 8. We were only provided with one large towel and one small towel for two people for 4 nights. 9. There were no towel robes provided for use after getting out of the hot tub - this is the first cabin stay we’ve had where these were not provided - and with the hot tub positioning, walking around in full view of the owners house in your swimsuit just feels inappropriate… 10. No “nice things” to turn up to like biscuits or bread or eggs etc… again the first cabin we’ve come to where you get nothing as a welcome. 11. The integrated fridge was wobbly as well… not really attached inside its casing. Good bits: 1. The cabin itself was fairly well equipped with kitchen things 2. Lovely views from the decking to have breakfast and coffee 3. Bed was comfortable 4. WiFi was strong and reliable 5. Hot tub was welcome after long walks

We had a lovely weekend despite a family crisis at home prior to our arrival.

Michaela introduced herself and promptly fixed the broken gate left by a previous guest. The cabin was fabulous and along with the hot tub provided a wonderfully relaxing weekend. Our dogs also enjoyed the experience and loved running around the field and surrounding grounds. It was lovely to know they could enjoy and we knew they were safely enclosed. We will be back in future. Thanks again!

Lovely little lodge with a beautiful view.

The lodge was fully equipped with everything you need. We met one of the owners when she came to check the hot tub, she was very friendly and was happy to answer any questions we had. We had a great relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a really lovely time at The Cabin.

Mikaela is a brilliant host, really friendly and went the extra mile for us due to the track to the cabin being resurfaced. She was helping us with our luggage due to not being able to drive down, we were also offered an extra night due to this. The location is just amazing, well out of the way but only around 15 minute drive to Tesco and other shops. The Cabin was lovely with all needs catered for, bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was very nice especially after all the walking we did and we were able to watch the sunset

Was cosy, homely, clean, and just all out fantastic.. we loved being in the middle of nowhere with views of the sunset every evening sat in the hot tub.. the location and the cabin is perfect to reset and refresh away from the busy world… we will 100% be coming to stay again it felt as though a home away from home… thankyou for having us and we look forward to seeing you again soon xx

Really enjoyed our time here, been to many hot tub locations over the years and this is in our top favourites now.

Great location, all the amenities you could want, plenty of space to relax, very likely to return in the summer with it only being a short drive to the coast. My only comment would be the chlorine level of the hot tub, as to not disturb their guests they do not do daily PH checks of the hot tub and top up with chlorine when required. Instead there is a little floating pod that stays in the hot tub with chlorine inside. This did cause mine and my partners skin to become incredibly dry which we weren't prepared for so had no moisturiser to combat the dry skin. Only mentioning this so future guests know to pack a bottle of body lotion.

We stayed at The Cabin for 6 nights and had a wonderful time.

It was spacious, clean and tidy and in such a lovely area. The views and local walks were absolutely amazing. We loved watching the sunsets on the balcony and relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. It was a perfect holiday and we can't wait to visit again.

Fantastic little cottage to stay in.

A really nice lay out and great level of finish inside, unusual for a dog friendly place as often these are old and tired. We really couldn't fault it. The owners were also very helpful, with directions and any questions we had. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Top tip - if you arrive in the dark, trust your sat nav and the directions supplied as it really is in the middle of nowhere but worth the journey.

We had to move sofa further away from the television ,only to find a layer of dirt and an unidentified pill , The oven was dirty and no bin bags of any description ,We felt that access to the Hot tub was Challenging as there were no steps or proper access to get into it.

and didnt appear to have been checked during the week . The location was excellent with fantastic views ,and very peaceful and we enjoyed our stay overall.

The main complaint is the shower is in need of a hand rail .

Being OAP we didn't use it as there was no shower mat either . Access to the hot tub was very dangerous as there were no fixed steps to enter it . We did point it out to the owner . Other than that the holiday was A .OK Really Lovely Location . Would return if problems were put wright . Thank You

it was all closed in and secure which was great for our two tiny dogs especially the field that they could run around in. Definitely looking forward to coming again next year

The cabin is in a lovely secluded spot with great views.

On first inspection the cabin seemed clean but me being a clean freak found the oven dirty and the toaster crumb tray full of burnt bits. I tried to clean both with what i had with me so i would at least use them. But would suggest a regular professional oven clean and empty the toast crumb tray every change over. All other parts of the cabin nice and clean. Would have liked a hoover as we both have asthma and dog hair floats on vinyl floors and using the broom just moves the dust and hair around the place. One other suggestion is to provide a poo bin for the dog waste as all the bags we put on the ground by the gate (as asked to) and they just sat there for the 3 days we were there. last point there were not dishwasher tablets left as per the cabin information but as we do not have one ourselves we just washed up as we do at home and yes we could have asked for some but do not like to disturb owners on such a small point. We still enjoyed out time there thank you

What a lovely location, we had plenty of places to visit and was great for our dog.

Absolute Heaven!

A gem of a property! So quiet and peaceful, hidden off the beaten track. Close to owners property but enclosed in it's own garden area. Ideal to escape from it all. Literally blissful. Would definitely come back.

We were looking for a quiet, and a romantic getaway and that’s what we got. From restaurants to supermarkets everything is very near!! Highly recommended!!

... The setting is absolutely beautiful and couldn't have been any better!! Total relaxation & a recharge of your batteries, the cabin it's self is truly a little gem every thing you need for most comfortable and fantastic holiday break, and the hot tub was brilliant way to make you relax and let your stress just bubble away!! Our two dogs also loved the break as they had a large garden area to burn there energy off by running around with their balls, this was a added bonus ! Just want to thank our host's for a fantastic time, and we will definitely be back if you will have

It was in a fantastic secluded location where you really feel like it’s just yourself and nature. The hot tub was a dream even if the weather was a bit hit and miss, the cabin was super cozy as well. We would 100% recommend staying here!!

It was an excellent place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, very peaceful with spectacular views, with respectful privacy, our little dog loved the private grass area to enjoy his freedom

The Lodge was everything it said it was and more.

The location was the most peaceful and tranquil place we have ever been. Great to unwind in the fabulous hot tub after a busy day sightseeing. The hosts respected our privacy, but were on hand should we require anything. Will definitely return.

Dirty hottub, filthy cabin including fluff clogged sock under bed, dirty bra under drawers with piles of fluff gap between cushions sofa full of dirt, packet of popcorn jammed in bed settee, line 15cm under sofa where cleaning stopped.

Several light bulbs failed on arrival. Phoned Sykes on return home (no signal at cabin) told "What do you want me to do about it"? BAD ATTITUDE WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER COMPANIES OUT THERE.

Although the Cabin is way out of the village and the need for a car is paramount the location is calm quiet and is easily accessible to the coast and places of interest I.

e Langhaun with all the history of Dylan Thomas and Dan yr Rogof caves The beaches at Tenby Saunderfoot Rhossili Oxwich are all within reach the great bonus is the Cabin and that neck of the woods is pet friendly and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended Pat

We loved our stay at the Cabin.

Such a beautiful location and the Cabin had everything that you needed. Hot tub was fab and our son got us all in there at 6.30 every morning! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay and being so accommodating and welcoming.

The Cabin was really lovely and exceeded our expectations.

It was very quiet and peaceful with the only sounds being from the birds. It was very clean. It was very private as it was in the middle of nowhere and there was a large fence to screen you from the nearby farmhouse. It was very relaxing and we loved spending time in the hot tub, even in the rain. We loved the time we spent there and will definitely be back.

Disappointed with The Cabin, the cleanliness was poor, with waste still present from previous guests which, during a pandemic, we didn’t find acceptable.

We stayed 2 nights out of the 7 and we’ve never been so glad to be home from holiday before! Our first holiday in 3 years, completely spoiled.

A lovely location for a very quiet, walking or biking break.

Found some super walks and we were able to recharge our batteries over the Christmas break. Owners very accommodating and helpful during our stay too.

The cabin was wonderful so very clean and cosy, had everything you would need, home from home, finished to a high standard, and the owner is a very impressive woman, she should be very proud, Would love to go back again in better weather to explore the area.

We were blessed with exceptional weather for our stay which did add to the holiday but I think that even without that it would have been a wonderful stay.

So much to do and see in the area and at the end of the day a great place to unwind.

The cabin was lovely and clean.

The kitchen facilities had everything you need and the addition of the hot tub made it even more pleasant. The owners were lovely. There if you needed them but otherwise they left you to your holiday. Very enjoyable week. We did lots every day (walked up Pen Y Fan, four waterfall walk in Brecon and visited my favourite beaches Rhossilli and Three cliffs Bay). All very worth doing.

Our stay at The cabin was a complete escape from our year and a half of Covid related issues.

Both of us needed isolation and relaxation. As avid walkers and with two small dogs the location is perfect, the hot tub a much appreciated activity after climbing the common. If you are looking for isolation it is perfect, if your idea of isolation is not being able to see into the adjacent holiday rental it is not. We want to thank the owners for a break that ticked all the boxes for us. We will be back.

Lovely cabin in a perfect location if you want to be away from the hectic lifestyle

The Cabin is a great place to stay, feels like you in the middle of nowhere but you are only a few miles from Swansea etc - Pontardawe is only a 10 min drive away and has a Tesco and Lidl for stocking up during your stay and Tesco deliver to The Cabin.

..The owners / hosts Michaela and Sinead were very welcoming and were on hand if any problems during your stay (which we didn't have)...Good pre arrival contact with Michaela....nice hot tub with views over the mountains..overall a great, comfortable place to stay and get away from it all...would recommend and would stay again

Beautiful Cabin in most scenic surroundings.

Loved the balcony and hottub overlooking the fantastic views. Host was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Would recommended though that the write up of The Cabin mentions that some of the country road to reach The Cabin is not suitable for cars with low suspension! We were so glad we left our BMW with low suspension home as we wouldn't have been able to reach The Cabin without damaging the car.

The cabin is situated in a lovely setting, with the most beautiful views - just the perfect place to relax on the decking or in the hot tub!

It is also well positioned to explore the Brecons or the Gower Peninsula. We had the most wonderful time and didn't want the week to end.

This was the first log cabin that I have ever stayed at and was such a well needed rest.

It was perfect and could not of been anywhere better. The lodge was really well presented, clean, warm and cosy. The views were stunning and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. The lodge was booked for myself and a friend and we both had the perfect time. When we arrive there was Christmas lights covering the lodge and and a festive Christmas tree inside. There is a town with shops and local pubs just a short 5 minute drive just up the road. We did order a take away but unfortunately could not find the address . It was perfect and would highly recommend a stay in this lodge if anyone does get the chance.

Stayed at the Cabin for the first time for a couple of days this week.

Its an amazing place - very cozy and comfortable, clean with all modern cons. It is tastefully decorated. Despite the torrential rain outside, we felt toasty on the inside. We didnt use the hot tub this time but will the next time we stay.

The cabin was the perfect romantic retreat with every comfort needed provided.

We had a lovely week the weather was glorious which did help but even in the rain I'm sure you couldn't fail to feel relaxed at the cabin. We ate out at the Butchers Arms the food and service were excellent. Also had breakfast at the nearby haystack also highly recommended and the bakery upstairs! The cabin was spotlessly clean and the hot tub the icing on the cake for relaxation. Thank you to Michaela for being on hand and with recommendations and advice about the local area.

The Cabin is located in the middle of some fields and quiet farm land with stunning views.

The owner's house is the only thing near by but far enough to still be very private. The building itself if very clean, warm, cosy and very well equipt with an excellent kitchen, relaxing lounge, large shower room and comfortable bed. The hot tub is amazing! It is a short drive (around half an hour) to the coast with some nice beaches (including Bracelt Bay which is a great spot for rock-pooling) and resturants. The owners were very polite and helpful. It is an ideal short break location!

Lovely hideaway, perfect if you are wanting to get away from your busy everyday life.

A beautiful location for a beautiful cabin.

A great place to kick off your shoes and relax. We had a small issue which Michaela sorted swiftly and with very little interuption. Lovely hosts who respected our privacy but were so helpful when needed. Thank you.

The best staycation we’ve ever had!

Already planning to go back next year. The cabin was well above expectations and had everything we needed. It was off the beaten path which added to its charm, that being said we were still able to order an Indian off just eat and have it delivered (highly recommended Raz Indian also). The hot tub was maintained daily and was always on and ready to relax in, we spent most of our evenings relaxing here looking at the stars. The owners were fantastic and insured we had everything we needed and were always available if we needed them. As per their recommendations, we took a day trip to the mumbles and had a brilliant day there. It’s also close to the Brecon Beacons so another day was spent exploring the four falls trail. We did have a very rainy day which we spent in the cabin and had such a relaxing day. Highly recommended this cabin for anyone wishing to relax and enjoy the beautiful views and surrounding scenery.

My partner and I visited the cabin early December for our honeymoon, it was FANTASTIC.

I don't really want to tell people about this oasis in the Welsh hills, so that I can hopefully book again in the future.

A great venue, great accommodation, wanting for nothing, a good base to explore the area, well done to the two owners. I recommend it highly for a self accommodation holiday.

We loved everything about the Cabin. It was comfortable, well equipped and the layout was perfect. Toweling robes and slippers provided for hot tub use - great idea. We only met one of the owners, Michaela who was lovely and helpful. The location is perfect for everyone. We would highly recommend a stay at The Cabin and are hoping to make it back next year.

Booked this cottage as a birthday present for my husband and I can honestly say that it did not disappoint.

The cottage is a beautiful place to stay with amazing views of the country side. The hosts were amazing and provided everything you could need. The hot tub is a wonderful addition. The whole weekend was truly amazing and would definitely recommend this cottage

We have been with Sykes several times and one thing we felt was missing from The Cabin was a welcome pack.

We had travelled a long way and it would have been nice to make ourselves a drink and a biscuit. We have had amazing welcome packs in the past but there was nothing at The Cabin apart from sugar and a tiny bit of tea and coffee. Apart from this we had a wonderful stay and would definitely go back.

The owners of the property have thought of everything to make it homely and everything you'd need already there for you. WiFi was nice and speedy, extra cables for connecting your own devices, plenty of sockets, board games, music Dock, even left a bottle of milk in the fridge for us (even though we'd brought our own). The view and the hot tub are definetely the outstanding features though.

We stayed at The Cabin for 1 week (18th-25th Jan), and it certainly did not disappoint!

The host’s was lovely, and couldn’t do enough for you. The views form the hot tub was to die for. Everything you could need and more was at The Cabin. Easily accessible to Swansea and surrounding areas. Would certainly recommend to all (you will not be disappointed), and we are looking to book again for next year

I booked the the cabin to take my girlfriend away for a couple of days of relaxation, and we got just that and more.

The cabin was lovely and well furnished, enjoyed spending time in the hot tub and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Would definitely recommend.

Sykes cottages were very helpful and informative.

The owners at the cabin were also very helpful and offered lots of info to ensure we got there safely from the town centre. The cabin was beautifully located and had everything we needed, we will be returning. Highly recommend both.

The Cabin was a delight.

It felt luxurious, well equipped, and in a beautiful place. We loved it, especially the hot tub.

The cabin was a lovely rural location and we received a warm welcome.

Unfortunately there were dogs on a neighbouring farm that barked all night every night we were there, which interrupted our sleep. The facilities were good except shower was low pressured which let it down. We left at 10am as requested but there was no one around to say good bye too which was a shame. We enjoyed the stay and was a lovely location if a little dark on the drive down into the farm.

Exceptionally well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more even including bath robes, slippers and fluffy towels. Great communication from owners, will definitely be returning

The Cabin was everything we expected and hoped for.

It was beautifully clean, well equipped, the heating was easy to control, hot water was plentiful, shower was good, nice high spec TV. No mobile signal, we didn't expect one, wi-fi signal was great.

The cabin was absolutely amazing, the view and cabin itself were stunning, it was cleaned to an extremely high standard, had everything you could possibly need, the lovely people provided some basic supplies on arrival, the whole experience exceeded all of our expectations and we had an amazing holiday!

Privacy but support if you wanted it. A gem of a find which allowed us to unwind and enjoy time as a family. Well done and thank you so much.

The photos do not do it justice, a very tranquil place overlooking fields and hills all you can hear are horses and sheep. Very secluded with no intrusion from the owners. Would definitely recommend and will definitely 're book.

This is a wonderful cabin set in amongst the countryside - a very remote and peaceful location making it easy to relax.

After busy days exploring the neighbouring towns and beaches, the hot tub provided a great way to end the day looking over at the sunset. Everything had been thought of and the hosts were always on hand if we needed any help. Will definitely be returning in the future!

The extremely remote location on the side of the mountain plus the view was was a rewarding bonus, being remote but only 5 minutes from the nearest town, the hosts were very welcoming and helpful, the facility itself (THE CABIN) was exceptionally well presented we will be returning ☺.

What a wonderful idyllic hideaway nestled in the beautiful hills around Pontardawe.

The cabin is immaculate in all respects and furnished to a very high standard. The views are second to none. Approximately 4 miles away is a huge Lidl which has everything you could possibly want. The hosts are super and friendly and very welcoming. I would certainly recommend this Log Cabin to anyone looking for a totally relaxing break.

The cabin was luxurious, much more than we expected.

everything was perfect. everything was top notch and of a very high standard. The views over the valley and night sky's are to die for, we were sad to leave and cannot wait to go back!! Absolutely peaceful location where you could hear a pin drop, well in between the sheep and horses. The owners could not do more to make this a perfect place to stay.

Everything is there for you to enjoy a truly relaxing holiday. Wonderful location, with breathtaking views, the hot tub was great, extremely high spec, very comfortable indeed. Good location for exploring the surrounding area. We had a truly idyllic stay. We have already booked for next year!

The views from the hot tub are amazing an so nice to watch the sunset. Safe and secure for the dog as fully enclosed outside. We enjoyed a trip to the nearby Mumbles Pier which was a great day out. Beautiful cabin with stunning views and everything you could possibly need!

Hot tub was a great extra! Especially great that dogs can come along too. Window in the bedroom a is a great extra touch and meant the views could be appreciated from every where. Hosts were lovely and very helpful ☺️ Brilliantly located for either peaceful walks within the National Park or visiting South Wales. A great find for a relaxing weekend away, Hope to come again soon x
