“Firstly, the chalet was very difficult to find.”

The host only gave us the instruction to check the map outside reception. After having to find a member of bar staff (as reception had closed by the time of our arrival), we were told this map had long been removed. Secondly, the chalet had a mould issue. The cabin had a foul odour throughout of damp. There was mould on the curtains and around fixtures and fittings. Thirdly, the shower did not drain quickly. By the end of your shower, you were up to your ankles in water, and the debris left was a mix of hair (who’s?) and grit. Fourthly, the WiFi barely worked. You may get one webpage before it gave up. Our mobile network was no better. Next, the beds were extremely well used and had the indents of previous users. The owner made no contact with us. We were told to contact them. On top of all the above, we were asked to strip the beds (which unfortunately revealed unclean mattresses) to maintain the cleanliness of the cabin! The listing describes a 24hr swimming pool, but does not mention that this is communal, comes at a fee and needs booking. It also lists a washing machine, which is also in a separate building. The property provides biscuits and coffee. It does not provide towels due to previous misuse, nor hand soap in the bathroom. The location, however, is stunning, as is its convenience to the beautiful south wales countryside. This is not a cheap listing, nor does it uphold the standard of hotels.com. Avoid.
