Description

The Crannach is a converted shepherds cottage of historical interest which has recently been modernised to a high standard.

The adjoining byre is now a large open kitchen, dining room and sitting room, with a wide double door leading onto a stone terrace.

The property is on the Glenfernate estate, about a mile and a half from the A924 up a private tarmacked road.

It faces South-West with a terrific view, and is on the edge of the Grampian mountains.

The Cairngorms National Park starts a mile further up the glen, and Beinn a’ Ghlo (a ‘Munro’ of over 3000 ft.) can be seen from the Crannach.

All the power to the property comes from a hydro electric scheme nearby.

The Crannach is a charming split-level lodge situated in the serene Glenfernate, Perth and Kinross, near the breathtaking Cairngorms National Park.

This former farmer's cottage offers off-road parking for two cars, an open-plan layout with stunning views and welcomes two well-behaved dogs, making it an ideal retreat for families or groups of friends.

Park up the car and take in the breath-taking views before entering.

Upon entering the property, you will be greeted by an open-plan area, where the kitchen, dining room, and sitting room seamlessly blend together.

The stylish kitchen is well-equipped for all your culinary needs, while the dining area boasts seating for eight, perfect for enjoying home-cooked meals or a spot to draw a picture of the pretty landscape seen from the patio doors.

The sitting area, complete with a TV, offers a warm and inviting space to unwind after a day of exploration, flick on the TV or enjoy the glorious views from the windows.

Descend to the lower ground to find a super-king-size bedroom offering miles of stunning views from the window, providing a tranquil setting to wake up to.

On the lower-ground floor you will also find a twin bedroom serviced by a bathroom.

Feel the warmth of the towel hug you after soaking in the bath here after your days of adventure.

Ascend two short sets of stairs to the first floor to find a spacious double room, and a second twin room providing additional sleeping arrangements.

For your convenience, a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and a WC is on the ground floor, providing ample facilities for all guests.

Outside, the enclosed garden offers a lawn and patio with garden furniture, offering a tranquil space to enjoy the stunning countryside views that surround the house.

Whether you're sipping your morning coffee or enjoying an evening drink, this outdoor space is sure to be a favourite spot during your stay.

Venture out to the nearby attractions in between relaxing in your enchanting abode.

Spend a magical evening in The Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry, where light and sound installations transform the woodland into a place of wonder and awe.

Take a tour of the Blair Athol Distillery, sample their fine whiskeys and uncover the secrets of their production process.

To round off a wonderful day, visit the Pitlochry Fish Ladder, a unique facility that allows salmon to bypass the dam and ascend the river in order to spawn.

The viewing chamber provides a fascinating insight into this captivating spectacle.

With all this to explore and more, a thrilling Scottish adventure awaits at The Crannach.

Just Magical We loved our stay from beginning to end.

The house was perfect in every respect, from the location in the valley to the furnishings. It was better than we ever could have expected. The sheep were being herded outside on quad bikes and there were orchids in the valley. The garden was completely secure for our dogs and we could let them enjoy themselves outside. We had beautiful views and would really like to come back again at a different time of year to experience it from another perspective. The only improvement would be to have a microwave! The broadband was a bit patchy, but the estate manager was extremely helpful with it, even out of hours. We have wonderful memories of our stay, thank you!

What an amazing place!

It is remote but that's one of its many positives. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, with just the beautiful Scottish vistas and wildlife for company. The cottage is one of the absolute best we've stayed in. Comfortable, warm, stylish and well-equipped with everything you would need. We spent a wonderful week in The Crannach, and highly recommend it for a holiday away from it all.
