“We’ve just had a fantastic week staying at Burnside House in Aviemore.”

The house was spotless and smelt so clean as we walked in. The kitchen had everything we needed to make dinner for the family (even cooked a full Sunday roast) The utility came in handy to store our dog’s bits and bobs. Most evenings we lit the log fire and chilled in the living room. The size of the main bedroom was a lovely surprise and the bed was very comfortable. Powerful showers in both bathrooms. The garden was secure for our dog and I can imagine in the summer, it’s lovely to sit outside. The views of the mountains surrounding the house were breath taking. I absolutely loved how much space we had. Aviemore has everything from supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, charity shops, outdoor clothing shops and plenty of things to do. We visited The Happy Haggis for a fish supper. Sunday morning, we bottle fed calves at Rothiemurchus and had a tour of the farm. This was so much fun. Afterwards, we warmed up with a cup of tea at the tearooms and picked up some Highland Beef for Sunday roast. We visited Channory Point and went for a walk along the beach. We did a hike around Loch Garten and Loch Mallachie. We were very lucky to see a red squirrel and two Osprey’s. Then we ended the week with taking the train up the Cairngorm Mountain and wow, the view was spectacular. If you enjoy a mooch around Antique Shops, we can highly recommend Torguish Antiques near Inverness. An absolute treasure trove and I’m sure my husband could have spent all day in there. Overall I would highly recommend Burnside House as a base but also a lovely house if you want to put your feet up and enjoy the Scottish scenery.

Wow thank you so much for your feedback. Such great information there too for future guests. So good to hear you found everything you needed in the kitchen. The house is our home from home and it is extra special when our guests write to tell us how much they loved it too. Property Owner
