Our family had a great stay at Oak Lodge.
The place was larger than we expected with plenty of space indoors and areas for the kids to play outside too. It was also easy to get to local towns when we needed but nice and calm in the evenings.
A lovely large lodge located in a quiet and peaceful area, Generally well equipped , but could do with a teapot as not all guests use teabags in mugs.
There was a lack of cleaning equipment , ie for washing up , no sponge or dish cloth or toilet duck for wiping toilets. In both the shower room and en- suite they could have done with some grab rails or bars to aid getting in and out especially for the older or impaired guest. The door covering the dishwasher nearly fell off in my hand as I opened it to see what was behind it and the tap in the kitchen sink leaked as soon as turned on. These were reported on answerphone within 30 minutes of arrival. There were no instruction manual to guide us as to how to use TV or recycling. No welcome folder or guest book to write these helpful comments in, and no local brochures to guide us to local places to visit or try out. There were quite a few cobwebs around especially higher up in the property and we felt that the lovely curtains on the decking doors and windows were a bit to long and nearly tripped on them a couple of times. These are all helpful hints as we have run our own holiday let in the past and not a negative moan as the general stay was very good ,many thanks Thank you of the milk and wine left in fridge on arrival
Lovely accommodation in a very peaceful relaxing location.
Perfect for a family birthday celebration/get together or a relaxing break. The nearest village, Abbotts Bromley, does not have a local store at the moment so make sure you bring your own food and drink. Cobwebs cafe and craft centre is close by and worth a visit.
