Our stay was perfect, the accommodation, the location, everything was perfect, everything we needed was there.

The enclosed garden made the week even more relaxing because our dogs could wander to their hearts content. Our only disappointment was that the week went way too quickly.

A lovely stay in a super 'log cabin' with all mod cons including two electric fans, which were very welcome!

It was in a very peaceful setting within natural surroundings.

Acorn Lodge was perfect - nothing else to say really.

The totally enclosed garden was amazing for anyone with a doggie. Close to Aldeburgh and Southwold and only ever saw a couple of cars going up the road so very peaceful.

Acorn Lodge is a beautiful little property (think small ski lodge without the snow in the middle of beautiful countryside and 10 miles from the coast).

It is well equipped, the owners have clearly invested in good quality soft furnishings, accessories and decor. We spent a lovely week here and would definitely visit again. Just one or two small signs of 'wear and tear' (hence 4* rather than 5* rating) but certainly didn't spoil our stay. Would definitely recommend and with Aldeburgh, Southwold and Snape Malting all within 20 minutes drive who wouldn't love a holiday here.

We can not say how much we enjoyed our mini break.

It was so clean and well stocked. So quiet and peaceful. Can't wait to come back. Have already told family and friends.

We visited Acorn Lodge 2nd time and had such a relaxing week.

The location is ideal, lovely walks, shops & beaches close, short drive away. Lodge has everything we needed and our two dogs had a nice week away too. The garden is fully secure for the dogs. We are planning to go back next year again.

We used AL as a base, as visiting friends in the area.

Loved it, especially the dogs. Found it very clean and comfy. The log burner kept the lodge really warm and cozy. Loved the little touch of the small red light outside the lodge, great when trying to find the lodge in the dark. Will definitely visit again ☺️

It was absolutely amazing. So cosy wish we could still be at acorn lodge. Was a lovely surprise to find the owner had supplied dog bowls and treat for our dog. Also it was also a lovely surprise to find that we had a pint of milk in fridge on arrival. We truly had a wonderful holiday. We will definitely be going back Simon Josephine And Misty

The lodge definitely had the 'wow' factor.

Very clean, cosy and comfortable. Was exactly as described. The area is lovely and very near main roads which assists with visiting all the surrounding coastline and villages. Supermarkets within 10 minute drive. Very secure garden for Dogs.

We have had great week and will forshure be back in 2026.

We had a fantastic time at Acorn Lodge.

It was perfect for us & our 2 dogs, it’s great having a good sized enclosed garden where you can relax knowing your dogs are safe while sniffing about & exploring. The lodge is so welcoming from the minute you open the door, open plan & tastefully decorated throughout, with two very comfy sofas, perfect size well equipped kitchen & nice size table & chairs. Bedrooms were a good size & we slept like babies! The whirlpool bath was a luxury addition. Great location for exploring the Suffolk Heritage coast & there’s lovely walks on your doorstep. We were sad to leave & definitely will be back. Highly recommended

Very peaceful location on a little lane, quiet and relaxing yet only 5 minutes from the A12 for easy access up and down the coast.

Bathroom and shower excellent and the lodge was spacious and comfortable. Weather was glorious so we were mostly outside, making good use of the sunny garden and the loungers plus visits to Southwold, Aldeburgh, Beccles and Thorpeness. Highly recommended

We had a very relaxing week at Acorn Lodge.

Such a lovely location & privacy of the Lodge. Everything what we needed was there. Kitchen could do with kitchen cloth and cling film/foil. We definitely want to come back. So close to lovely walks, beaches, shops at Saxmundham and Farm shop in walking distance. One of the best holidays we have had in the UK.

We felt very much at home in acorn cottage.

It was warm and comfortable ideally located for all our birdwatching adventures

We enjoyed our stay at Acorn Lodge.

However there was one thing that we felt needs addressing for future clients and that is the beds. The double bed was very uncomfortable. I think that the mattress needs replacing.it was very hard and was resting on a hard wooden plywood base which didn't help. My partner who has terminal cancer decided to use one of the single beds but that wasn't really much better. The mattress in the single bed also needs replacing and also rests on a wooden plywood base.

My partner and I came to stay at Acord lodge to get away from the world and I'm so glad we did!

The lodge is so peaceful and quiet, set in amazing countryside. The whole place feels warm and cosy, with all the amenities you could need. The host went above and beyond to accommodate for us, even giving us some extra things we'd forgotten to bring which was amazing. Thank you so much for an amazing stay!

It's such a beautiful lodge but the bed was super uncomfortable so we didn't sleep well and spent a lt of time in agony.

Also there was a big gap in the hedge leading to the main road so garden wasn't secure as advertised. However those 2 things aside, it was wonderful. They had everything you needed. The lodge was beautifully maintained, the fire and whirlpool bath were also fabulous. If they get a new bed we'd come back.

As soon as you open the front door, you get the "wow" factor.

The lodge is stunning, immaculately clean, and very cosy. It's so well insulated that, even in February (2024) we turned the heating off completely and opened the front doors. Our 2 dogs loved the wrap-around garden and we felt at ease knowing the periphery fencing was completely secure. There were plenty of dog-friendly places to visit, including The Poacher's Pocket bar and restaurant - where the food was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

"Excellent accommodation in a lovely spot - beautifully quiet" I decided to book last minute (about 2 weeks before) a NY break for me, my husband, my brother & partner I came across this lodge & immediately loved the look of it, the location looked perfect & was perfect with a short driving distance to a few local places including Sizewell Beach, Saxmundham, Aldeburgh, Southwold and Walberswick to name but a few.

The lodge was extremely well equipped with everything you would need for a short break. There were also lots of extra's including, tea, coffee, milk, dog bowls (we bought two doggies) kitchen cleaning products which weren't expected, along with a complimentary bottle of fizz & a box of Thornton chocolates! The lodge was very warm & comfortable, we didn't need to light the log fire as it was quite mild but I'm sure when lit it would give of that lovely warm & cosy feeling. All of our party except myself tried the whirl pool bath & said how lovely it was. My only constructive criticism would be some more lighting to the side of the property where the wishing well is as when we arrived it was dark & we couldn't see much (Sue did message me to say we could check in earlier than 5pm as the lodge was ready so wouldn't have been a problem if we had have arrived in some day light) other than that it was the perfect quite, quaint spot for celebrating our New Year.

We had an amazing week at Acorn Lodge over Christmas!

The lodge was extremely well equipped with everything we needed, very clean, warm and comfortable! There were also lots of added extras such as tea, coffee, milk, dog bowls, bin bags, soap, washing up liquid etc that we were not expecting! The whirl pool bath and log fire were also an added bonus after exploring the local beaches such as Southwold, Thorpness and Aldeburgh. Indeed, the location was perfect, quiet, private and secluded, while being within eaay reach of beaches, walks and towns. We met the owners once, who were lovely and extremely helpful-nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome! We would definitely return to Acorn Lodge in warmer months to experience the outside secluded garden, which included a fire pit, BBQ and table/chairs etc (It was also totally secure for our dog, being fenced off and enclosed) Acorn lodge was one of the best places we have ever stayed and we would highly recommend it! 10 out of 10.. we will definitely be returning!

We love the location.

The Lodge is super warm and a great place to stay. We have stayed 3 times and have rebooked for next December. Highly recommended

Excellent lodge surrounded by beautiful countryside with plenty of walks.

Within easy reach of 4/5 picturesque coastal towns and villages. A perfect time to go with hardly anybody around to walk on the deserted beaches at sunrise. Perfect holiday

We found everything we needed, including a great arrival pack for our dog - it would be good to know in advance that dog bowls were provided as I needn't have brought my own - I have never come across this at other properties! (And he loved the biscuit :-) ). Many thanks for a very pleasant stay.

A lovely base for exploring that part of Suffolk.

The lodge was very comfortable and in a peaceful location with field walks nearby and an Ideal base for visiting coasts, villages and towns far and wide.

The secure garden is excellent for containing your pets, Lola spent most of her time when we were inside, outside patrolling her domain!!!! Good pubs, cafes and local shops

Our third visit to Acorn Lodge, and we found it just as clean and comfortable as before.

The garden is completely safe for our dog, and the lodge is well positioned for exploring this interesting and beautiful area. Will probably go again!

The owners have obviously fitted out this lodge as if they were visiting it themselves as they have gone to extraordinary measures to ensure everything anyone could possibly want is available.

We stay in holiday cottages all over the UK at least three times a year and it is very rare to find a cottage so well equiped. The location is superb provided you like a totally rural retreat accessed down single carriageway country lanes. Access to both Aldeburgh and Southwold is easy with some excellent pubs and restaurants plus some lovely country/seaside walks are nearby.

A well-appointed and spacious lodge situated on a quiet lane overlooking fields, it has a very secure garden for dogs.

Ideally located for visiting places such as Aldeburgh and Southwold, it is also a very short drive from RSPB Minsmere. We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay despite somewhat poor weather and have booked to return next year.

Our stay at Acorn Lodge was absolutely brilliant no complaints whatsoever.

The Lodge is situated in a very quiet road but close enough to places to visit within the surrounding area. The welcome pack was exceptional a large box of chocolates ,Prosecco,jam marmalade , tea coffee sugar , milk even doggie Pooh bags ! The Christmas tree was an added extra which made it complete. We would definitely stay again and would recommend it to family and friends . 10 out of 10 for the owners who were on hand if required.

Second visit.

Lovely location near to many great attractions. Lodge has exceptionally good central heating & an easy to use wood burner. Highly recommended we have booked again for December 2023.

We have also booked for end of December. Sue is a fantastic host there to help out whenever needed would highly recommend this lodge to anyone if you can get a date.

Lovely stay at Acorn Cottage.

Beautiful setting in the heart of the country but close to lots of lovely facilities. Pretty and large garden with lots of shade - essential on the two hottest days of the year! Dog secure and very much enjoyed by our pooch. Comfy and really spacious for two.

We had a lovely week and the sun shone everyday.

The cabin is well placed for visiting Southwold Walberswick Dunwich where we found dog friendly beaches. Lovely farm shop down the road and the Local pubs great for food. Really appreciated the dog safe garden in the lovely weather. Found the television and fridge rather small but these are only minor points in our stay

A beautiful well presented lodge in a lovely setting with enclosed grounds that were safe and secure for our spaniels.

Although the owners are nearby if needed, your privacy is completely respected. The lodge is well equipped with comprehensive instructions for all appliances and the barbecue / firepit and patio furniture including sun loungers were well used during our stay and an asset to the lodge. The little touches, hand soap in the dispensers, dog biscuits, jams and milk in the fridge were lovely gestures. I would definitely recommend this lodge and would stay here again.

It was all amazing, we would definitely return to this lodge, very clean and comfortable, nice little added extras and owners were very polite and accommodating.

We had booked so we could take our dog with us and it was described as dog friendly, which, with regard to things provided, it was.

However, our dog liked to get in the shade under the laurel bush and started to chew a fallen twig. We looked it up on the internet and found laurel contains toxins so had to watch her all the time she was in the garden. Perhaps clients should be made aware of this? The lodge is in a lovely quiet setting. Unfortunately for us, the farm across the way was doing some work which necessitated a lot of loud banging and clanging so not really peaceful during the day. Some of the cooking items need to be replaced.eg frying pan minus a lot of the non stick coating Overall though we would recommend the lodge.

Quiet,peaceful location but lots to see and do in the area

This was the best holiday let we have stayed in.

It was immaculately clean, the beds were extremely comfortable and the whole property was warm and homely, having everything you could need for a break. Our dog loved mooching around the garden. Parking is on site, close to the property. It was so peaceful as well but close enough to visit the coast. It’s located in a beautiful area.

15 minutes drive to RSPB Minsmere. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommended.

Lovely clean property .

Everything that one could possibly need . Set in a idyllic spot . Enclosed garden for the dog . (Super) Comfortable bed and recliner sofas which again very comfortable . There is nothing worse than sitting on a sofa thats rock hard or warn out and we have been to a few of those in our time . Full marks

A perfect location for a relaxing break.

The cabin was delightful with all that's needed. Spa bath was a treat ! Enclosed area for a dog was reassuring. As we stayed in a Winter month we found the TV could be updated. Only gripe was the bed wasn't the most comfortable. We would def recommend and return if n the area.

We arrived at the cottage which we found very easy to find with the instructions given and the post code gets you to the owners house anyway.

On arriving, all the welcome packs of Coffee, Tea, Jams etc were fantastic. The log burner was so easy to use and very very effective. Acorn Cottage is a fantastic example of how a holiday cottage should be presented, There was nothing that we would have added or taken away. It is situated in a brilliant location to explore Sizewell, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings and other areas. We also took a trip to Great Yarmouth. To take the dog for a walk on the beach before breakfast was just fantastic. We loved all the fresh fish we bought on the beach at Aldeburgh and the town was just delightful.

NB have given accuracy of listing only a smile rather than a grin because the Lodge was even nicer than it looked on the website!

We had a most enjoyable few days here, just before Christmas, and were delighted to find a warm and cosy place, decorated for the season. Everything was immaculate. We would love to go again in spring or summer, to do more exploring round and about as it makes an excellent base for seeing Suffolk. We found it a very calm, peaceful and relaxing place to be. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

Bed was the only problem, creaked and groaned at every turn! Nice area, we needed a car to get to shops and pub, possible walking distance for younger people. Already recommend to friends. Excellent.

We had a lovely stay at Acorn Lodge , the kitchen and the bathroom were lovely and very well equipped.

We thought that the garden was a huge asset and benefit to us as the owner of a large, very active dog, she absolutely loved it, and we did too, as eating alfresco in the summer evenings is one of our favourite things to do!! Acorn Lodge is situated in such beautiful and peaceful surroundings and is a great base for some lovely walks and trips to all that Suffolk has to offer!

This is a lovely, well equipped cabin, with it's own private garden, located in a peaceful setting and an ideal base to explore the east coast of Suffolk and surrounding areas.

We were a little surprised that we were not able to access the property until 5pm.

That seems quite late, especially after a long journey and meant hanging around in the local area until we could get in. We understand that extra cleaning is involved for Covid reasons, however we have stayed at other places during this time and have still been able to access it after 3.30 and 4.00, as 2 examples. By limiting access until after 5pm then the whole day is spent waiting to access the property and it became late to be unpacking and settling in. The accommodation is in a lovely, peaceful area.

The owner introduced herself as we arrived and was very friendly even left us some treats gives a good start to the holiday.

The lodge was specially ozoned clean so made us feel very safe in these scary times would recommend this property wholehearted

Very comfortable cabin in a lovely quiet rural location handy for Suffolk's best coastal locations & easy food shopping in Saxmundham.

Our escapologist dog loved the garden which was escape proofed all round with hidden wire mesh. The only let down was wifi that didn't work but while we were there the Fibre Cable guys started fittimg to give better broadband which should be ready Oct - I got internet on my phone in the garden

First time using Sykes & could not be happier.

Property exactly as described, peaceful, relaxing & very homely. Near enough to the local town to pop in but far enough away to feel away from everything.

Beautiful lodge in a quiet location.

Perfectly placed for long walks in the countryside at the same time as there being plenty of places to visit locally. The Lodge itself was well appointed, lovingly set up and cared for, providing home from home comfort.

Acorn Lodge is in a beautiful location and the cottage itself is very well appointed, it has almost all you could need ( bring your own hairdryer) The owner is very welcoming and helpful to this very lovely place, we loved the outside space so peaceful and almost all you hear is the birds.

we would definitely recommend this property and the surrounding area which is new to us. The coastline is beautiful as are the coastal towns and most businesses are open, but some pubs and restaurants seem still to be offering only takeaways on certain days. This in part seems to be because of a monopoly in the area of a curtain chain. We are enjoying our relaxing break and would come back to this part of the world. The only drawback Is that the wi-fi is not adequate and we have like most people have come to rely on it when visiting a new area. That said it has in no way detracted from our enjoyment of our holiday. If you have an iPhone you can connect to the internet by bringing your iPhone close to your device for temporary Connection.

Acorn Lodge is advertised as having wifi & broadband, yes it does but the signal is so weak as to be almost none existent.

This was important for because of the need to keep in touch because of my wife's illness otherwise, my ratings would have been excellent for everything.

We were pleased to find the accommodation was exactly as shown on the website.

It was in a lovely location, very peaceful but not too far from Southwold and other places ideal for dog walking. Would definitely recommend this property.

Great for dogs with fully enclosed garden. Well equipped. Only issue we had was the wifi signal was very weak and would often drop out.

Lovely cottage in a brilliant location close to the Suffolk coast.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well equipped cottage. Everything you needed was there and plus some, including a lovely jacuzzi bath, great shower and loads of hot water and heating. Can highly recommend this peaceful retreat for those wanting to get away from it all and enjoy this interesting part of the country.

The location of Acorn Lodge is perfect.

So quiet and peaceful but near enough to the A12 to get around and see everything this area has to offer. Everything worked a treat and this was one of the best showers we have ever had. Sue and Brian were very helpful and we had a super holiday.

Lovely little lodge ,pretty enclosed garden for our little dog and quite secluded ,will be more when hedge grows up more .

Very quiet except for festival music coming from a local farm we think so check nothing going on before you book if peaceful evenings are what you want .Star gazing is amazing sitting around fire pit after a bbq .Cosy lodge with lots to do in surrounding areas .Beds a bit small and soft for my 6ft husband but would definitely return . Thank you Sykes and the lodge owners .

Stunning property, very comfortable - loved it!

We had a very enjoyable, very relaxing holiday in Acorn Lodge.

Very well equipped, very clean, quiet with much valued privacy. Bird song in the mornings and evenings was lovely. The garden is well fenced for dogs. Exciting to see hares on our walks in the lanes and tracks near the lodge. This holiday let is in the top two that we have stayed in over a number of years. It is just two or three miles from Saxmundham which has a Waitrose and a Tesco, and close to the Suffolk coast. Highly recommended.

A really lovely property in great rural location.

Excellent cycling through lovely villages which can be done from the door.

The lodge was in an excellent location for walking the dogs with plenty of foot paths and very close to a lot of beachs for both the dogs and us to have a good walk to.

We have spent many of our holidays in self catering properties and Acorn Lodge probably proved to be the best yet.

Set in a rural location yet near enough for nearby places of interest, the lodge offers extreme comfort and all the facilities normally required whilst holidaying. It is obvious that the self build lodge undertaken by the owners has had no expense spared whist under construction and that manifests itself also in the extremely pleasant furnishings provided inside. Acorn Lodge is a truly magnificent property and we would highly recommend as a base for visitors to the lovely county of Suffolk. J&J (Sheffield)

Wonderful lodge in a quiet area, with a warm welcome.

Furnished to a high standard and with good quality linen. Secluded and fenced garden makes it perfect for dogs. Kitchen was well appointed although missing a washing machine at the expense of a (very useful) dishwasher. There was no casserole dish, but all the usual items were present. For a luxury cabin that could easily be used for a week away from civilisation, the fridge was very small in my opinion. Bathroom was well appointed but lacking in storage space - a shelf or two might help. Livign area was superb - good furntiture and a tv with radio built in. A foot stool may be a helpful addition to help when relaxing. Bedrooms were faultless - great mattresses and linen, plenty of storage space. Great nights sleep. Plugs to charge phones just behind bedside tables, and a great mobile signal & internet. Great hosts, great cabin and I very much look forward to returning.

If you want somewhere to stay which is handy for the coast, in a quiet location and is dog friendly Acorn Lodge is the place.

We have just spent a fantastic week there and couldn't have asked for more,our new 6 month old Cockapoo loved the dog proof garden as well. Highly Recommend this lodge

Acprn Cottage was brilliant.

Ev erything there could possibly need. Could not think of anything that would make our stay better.

The moment we entered Acorn Lodge, we knew that it would be perfect as a base for our walking holiday.

My son and I normally do B&Bs for our walking holidays but could find nothing available nor suitable for our needs and that of our dog. We therefore decided to rent a cottage instead. What a great decision. When we got back from a full day's walking, it was warm and comfortable, there was plenty of hot water for a restorative bath and it was easy to get our outdoor clothes dry. On the one day when the weather was truly awful, Acorn Lodge was a lovely place just to lounge in, read our books and generally relax. The kitchen was also really well-equipped so it was easy to make the obligatory cooked breakfast. All in all we couldn't find fault and would recommend Acorn Lodge to anyone as an excellent place from which to explore this fascinating part of the UK.

Superb holiday, everything you needed, weather was perfect, we really enjoyed ourselves, would recommend this log cabin to anybody.

Acorn Lodge is a wonderfully comfortable and well equipped cottage.

Small details such as milk in the fridge, tea/coffee, jams, dog bowls & treats made all the difference and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The whole garden is well fenced making it safe and secure, perfect for both dogs and small children. The cottage has been finished to a high quality and is brand new! Being at the end of a quiet lane on the edge of farmland this makes for a peaceful, rural holiday with a network of public footpaths right from the front door but within a short drive to many Suffolk attractions such as Framlingham & Orford castles, beaches galore and the gorgeous seaside towns Aldeburgh & Southwold. The owners of Acorn Lodge greeted us across the fence, as we arrived the property is within the grounds of their house) and were unobtrusive throughout whilst being on hand had we needed them. Overall a very relaxing holiday - just what we needed.

Fully equipped, extremely clean and surrounding area is nice and quiet. lots to do in the area , the gods loved it.
