Bumbles Retreat lived up much more to our expectations, the hut was beautifully decorated, very clean and the field it was situated in was ideal for our dog Benni too!

We had great nights sleeping in the hut because the bed was so comfortable and the peace and tranquillity of the location was just superb. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this is the place to really relax. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and I would highly recommend this cosy getaway.

Small, but perfectly formed.

A lovely welcome, and such a quiet out-of-the-way spot. The only sounds were heard were wildlife and the occasional plane (it's Suffolk - land of small airfields). Clean, comfortable, warm; a really nice place to stay. Obviously in such a small space there will be limitations - there's a only a microwave and a kettle so cooking's a bit limited. The shower is tiny - well, you wouldn't want to try to take a friend in with you. Make sure you read the bit about steps and the bed being high up - if you're unsteady this might not be ideal for you, though my wife's wobbly on her legs and we thought it was well worth the extra bit of effort. Definitely recommended.

The accommodation is lovely and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.

If you’re after time to chill this is the place. We loved the position of the hut, in a field where our dog Rosie had the best time. Walks on the doorstep and a great pub nearby where we had a highly recommended roast dinner, dog friendly and current owners lovely.

Amy and Richard have thought of everything to make the stay as comfortable as possible. A peaceful environment with a few good walks straight from the hut (look out for Hares). Relaxing watching the Blackcap and Buzzards high in the sky. Plenty of interesting places to see within a short drive. The White Horse pub ( open Mon-Fri) an easy 15 min walk along a field is a must. Delicious food and attentive hospitality.

Had the best stay here, fantastic location and such a lovely hut.

We very much enjoyed our time here with the pup and would love to come back again.

An excellent stay for Teddy, my dog, and I.

Teddy was outside for about 14 hours daily, just loving the outdoor life. Lovely comfortable bed and snuggly duvet. Efficient heating when it got a little chilly in the evening. We were blessed with fabulous weather and I hope to return for another visit. Amy and Richard were both very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

By far this was the best retreat I have been to so far.

The facilities and cleanliness were of the highest standard possible. The views and wildlife were just spectacular and Amy and Richard catered for my every need. I loved every minute and I am already planning to stay later on this year for more tranquility and superb local hikes which are a must do if you want to truly enjoy the surrounding area.

We enjoyed our retreat felt like home away from home, the hosts are good hearted and beautiful people.

Excellent place to stay for a quiet cosy retreat , well thought out and good attention to detail.

.the only thing that would be beneficial to people with dogs is the front area fenced off so they cant escape into the field.

We really enjoyed the hut and it's facilities and the quiet surroundings.

I recently stayed at Bumbles Retreat and had the most wonderful experience.

The peaceful, idyllic scenery was exactly what I needed for a relaxing getaway. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure everything was just perfect. The shepherd’s hut is beautifully done up with so much attention to detail, from the cute bathroom to the cozy little reading lights. The bed was super comfy, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the hut had everything you could possibly need for a long weekend away. Little touches like the baskets with wine and beer, as well as books, really added to the charm. For dog owners, they’ve thought of everything – there was even a little bag of goodies and treats for my dog, Bandit, which was such a thoughtful touch. The whole atmosphere at Bumbles Retreat is peaceful and serene, making it a perfect escape. I can’t recommend it enough – we had a lovely time and will definitely be back!

The Shepherds Hut was an amazing experience, so cosy and comfortable - beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

Owners are so friendly and welcoming, and have provided everything you need for your stay in the hut. We saw so much wildlife during our stay, which was magical when a family of deer came through the field whilst we were sitting out

A true gem set in the Suffolk countryside but close enough to all must see tourist destinations.

What can I say about Bumbles Retreat!

!! FANTASTIC, BEAUTIFUL, COMFORTABLE PEACE & QUIET . Simply the BEST place to totally relax,chill out to recharge our batteries . We also had lovely weather, which was a bonus.Everything you could think of was provided, a tin of treats for our boy FLINT & a lovely basket of goodies for us. Our hosts too were so lovely, they've created a wonderful Retreat ❤️& I would highly recommend going there if you need to totally relax. Flint,our dog had a brilliant time to, so much room to run around as much as he wanted, in pastures of wild grasses & flowers &plenty of 'sniffs' to explore. Seeing the beautiful Barn Owl 4 out of the 5 nights was a huge bonus, plus all the other wildlife too. Local pub is great for either a takeaway or on Wednesdays, a gorgeous Roast, with digs allowed inside, perfect for us. We didn't want to leave! Will certainly be visiting you again in the future

A wonderful week in a glorious part of the world , excellent, friendly hosts, Time in the country with no TV or WiFi was a joy .

The weather was rather wet , but hey ho , still visited some stunning villages , and Bury St Edmunds never disappoints. A village pub that didn’t open at weekends was a little strange but our week in “The Shed” was beyond relaxing, and would thoroughly recommend

Bumbles Retreat is in the perfect peaceful rural location with country walks from the shepherds hut.

It’s very well equipped with everything you need. Comfortable, warm & beautifully decorated. Close to the village pub within 10-minutes walk. The first of hopefully many more visits. Thank you Richard & Amy for your hospitality.

So well equipped, with everything you need for a tranquil escape to the countryside. Our dog, Luna, enjoyed it to. The perfect spot with some lovely walks and local pubs with gardens.
