Lovat Highland Bothy

It was a lovely property in a lovely area.

Very well appointed. We wanted a quiet relaxing holiday & it fulfilled expectations. We enjoyed watching the doves and the hares. There were some beautiful sunsets!. The owners were there when we needed them but were not intrusive. The weather was better than we expected.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay.

The Bothy has everything inside that you need for a relaxing holiday, and outside is a fantastic space to sit, eat & listen to music. John is a friendly and welcoming host with great bagpipe playing skills.

Fabulous lodge, friendly owners, clean, comfortable and has everything you would need.

Really enjoyed our week here.

Lovely location and spacious chalet.

The Bothy is one of those cottages that you want to return to time and time again.

The location is fantastic and the way that John and Sarah have set up this gem is just perfect. John is the perfect host, always busy around the farm and property and even serenades on the bagpipes of an evening. The views are exceptional and the property itself is well equipped. Locally you are never disappointed with so much beautiful countryside to enjoy. Highly recommended!

A really fantastic rental that gave us the perfect base for a week of kayaking and hill walking.

The rental is a short drive from Beauly which has a coop, fuel, and importantly a rather nice deli/ coffee shop. John met us on arrival and showed us around. We were out all day, but returned to a very comfortable home each evening. It was spacious and warm inside. Well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. Very comfortable living area with a log burner. Huge and very comfortable bed. Not relevant to most guests, but for us we appreciated the space in the outdoors barbecue area to dry off our kit after kayaking! I think if it had been warmer and earlier in the year we would have used the barbecue area for its intended purpose too - it’s a great little sheltered area next to the house with mood lighting! We had two vehicles with us and there was ample room for parking. All in all a great place to stay - I would definitely recommend and would consider returning.

The property & owners were great & a wonderful location, the main issues are that there are several security cameras that are very intrusive & placed everywhere, also the whole experience is about cost saving, locking up the heating controls, £7/ basket of logs, no consumables in property & the threat that any deviation from the rules would come at a price!

Would much prefer a more low key enforcement of rules & a welcome pack always goes a long way to make you feel welcome.

The Bothy was spotless, very comfortable and spacious and provided everything we needed. The location is perfect and offers so many options for walking, visiting places of interest and sightseeing. The scenery and wildlife were amazing, and the autumn colours were beautiful. Our host met us on arrival and couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. The bagpipes were an added bonus and lovely surprise on our first evening. We can’t recommend staying here highly enough.

We had a lovely stay at the Bothy .

The Bothy was in a beautiful peaceful setting with a great outside area unfortunately due to weather we didn’t get to use bbq It is well equipped and comfortable and was an ideal base for us. The only minor complaint was that the tv signal was very poor , so we couldn’t watch it in the evening but as I say only minor and didn’t detract from our stay

Staggeringly spacious every amenity. The hosts were wonderful kind people who had time for us In the midst of their own busy lives. Tranquil setting surrounded by nature.
