“Good location and spacious and comfortable property.”
As we travelled with a very young baby, we were greatful for the baby bath and clothes airer provided. There are also several different items such as a dog crate, umbrellas and torches, books and a few board games provided.
Few things need attention such as the grouting in the bathrooms; the double bed had a broken leg that was attached by duck tape. The mop head needs replacing and the hoover was smelly which needs addressing if asking holiday makers to hoover prior to leaving. The two singles bedroom, you can’t shut the door without moving the single bed away from the door.
A polite suggestion, if you are asking people to use eco friendly products, an idea would be to provide these as if you have no access to a car, shops are out of the way. The decking area is enclosed however the garden isn’t so to be aware if you are taking a dog as there is a road right by. Small basic items such as salt and pepper, dishwasher tablets etc would be appreciated and go a long way. Also, a note to future guests, you are required to put the bins out on collection day, strips the beds and hoover prior to leaving. Which is okay, however if you have a long journey ahead this isn’t really what you want to be doing.
Thanks very much for your feedback and for staying with us. We appreciate all our guests and when we get to meet them, we welcome each one warmly and openly. We also demand of ourselves very high standards and provide those to all our guests.
I wish you’d used the time to actually contact us to let us know your thoughts. We provide a lengthy house manual which includes our contact details, which we emailed to you three times, including when we welcomed you because you hadn’t seen any of them in your Inbox. You acknowledged receipt when I forwarded it to you whilst standing in front of you.
Salt & pepper are provided. If they were missing during your stay, it would’ve been good to know at the moment. We would’ve replaced them immediately.
Also provided are dishwashing tablets and laundry liquid. These are located under the kitchen sink. These were there because we had personally topped them up.
As for stripping beds and basic hoovering on departure - those are standard requirements in most holiday lets.
The one single bed which has to be moved a maybe five centimetres to close the door, yes that’s true. We’ve never before had a complaint.
We will check the grouting, although we just had that redone in the spring, and the “broken leg”. Suspect you mean the middle support right under the bed and which cannot be seen unless you look way under the bed. The duct tape is the best fix we have for such a tricky spot. We don’t believe the bed needs to be binned just because of that. But again it would’ve been helpful to have a face to face discussion or even an email or text rather than this sort of message. Once again, thank you for staying with us.
