This lovely, detached, chalet-style lodge is situated beside the peaceful haven of the Millbuie Forest on the Wester Brae Highland Lodge site, close to the village of Culbokie, Ross and Cromarty, Highland.
With widespread views across the Black Isle to the Cromarty Firth, Ben Wyvis and the mountains beyond, this attractive lodge is ideal for a couple, a family group or group of friends who want to explore this beautiful area and soak up the peace and tranquillity that it has to offer.
Presented to a high standard, there are two well-proportioned bedrooms, a double and a twin.
The well-equipped kitchen has a spacious dining area and guests can enjoy home cooking after an active day out.
The sitting room has a real wow factor with floor-to-ceiling windows from which there are spectacular views to be enjoyed from the comfort of your sofa!
On warmer days, the garden seating provides a fabulous spot for a quiet read or drink.
If you find it difficult to leave the comfort of this wonderful retreat, then just a few steps away is the forest, rich with wildlife, which is ideal for walkers, cyclist and nature lovers.
The area has much to offer and the village of Culbokie is very close by, with its friendly pub and shop.
However, the Black Isle boasts many pretty seaside villages and a walk along the beach in nearby Rosemarkie will almost guarantee sightings of the famous Moray Firth dolphins as they leap by!
Perhaps visit nearby Cromarty, an 18th century fishing port and renowned for being the best preserved village in the Highlands.
From here you can take a high-speed boat to see the dolphins and other wildlife at close quarter but remember to book first!
A fabulous area with so much to do, a great holiday home to enjoy and the whole Northern Highlands and Cairngorms at your feet to explore.

Die Unterkunft bietet alles, was man benötigt.
Sie ist sehr gut ausgestattet und die Betten sind bequem. Vom Wintergarten hat man einen herrlichen Weitblick. Ein Pluspunkt ist die Ladestation für E-Autos. Wir waren tagsüber sehr viel unterwegs und über Nacht haben wir dann das Auto geladen. Das war wirklich praktisch. Alan ist ein netter, hilfsbereiter Vermieter. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit in der Pine Lodge.
Sorry but we didn't get on our holiday but we spoke to the couple and they were lovely I'm sure we would have had a lovely time if we had been there but due to our pet not being to well was not to be but thank you
Was very impressed when arrived, a lovely lodge with with lovely views in a quiet location.
It was nice and spacious and had everything that we needed for our stay. Alan came up to welcome us and check everything was okay. Would certainly stay at Pine Lodge again if ever get the chance, and would highly recommend it, as we thoughally enjoyed our stay. Nick and Mary
Pine Lodge is a lovely clean and comfortable place to stay, with idyllic surroundings.
The perfect place to either relax or go exploring the wonderful scenic sites of the Black Isle and the Highlands. Alan and Helen are warm and welcoming hosts. Would highly recommend this accommodation. We look forward to returning to Pine Lodge.

We've had a lovely stay.
If we were to provide improvement advice it would be these: 1. Check for wasp nests at the back of the lodge. Not a big issue for us but can become bigger if left unchecked. 2. It would be nice if wifi extended further out in the yard. 3. Kitchen cabinets are a bit smelly.
Glad you had a lovely stay and thank you for the helpful feedback. We are actually having the WiFi upgraded in October to extend it outside. Sorry you found the cupboards smelly: we couldn't smell anything obvious ourselves but will clean cupboards in future with a scented cleaner. It's been a good year for the wasps and for the cherry trees on site. We do routinely check for wasp nests around the property but we haven't found any, as you mentioned also? It's the first year we've had such numbers up here in the month you visited: an exceptional event hopefully, but we appreciate the feedback and will think about other possible preventatuve measures (e.g. hanging fake nests outside the property) if we get another amazing year for wasps.

Electric car charge point available at additional charge. Nice touches of milk, tea, coffee etc just Incase you haven’t had chance to come prepared at least you can have a drink. Well placed to explore the Black Isles and Inverness area. Lovely host who came to check all was well. Could not fault it.

We have been delighted with al your properties, so this is just a helpful suggestion.
Didn't pick up that there was no freezer. We managed with frozen stuff we'd brought (for 2) but four people with frozen prepared meals may have struggled. Could you make it a bit clearer in the spec?
Helen and Alan gave us such a warm welcome.
The lodge was spotless and the facilities were great. The little touches of a courtesy tray and milk in the fridge were lovely. The only very small down side was there is a lot of black mould in some rooms. Especially round the bath. Maybe give some attention to that. However I would not hesitate to recommend the lodge to anyone thinking of going to the highlands.

Well, where do I begin?
.. I used to visit these lodges around 26 years ago as a child, this is now my 3rd visit back as an adult, and I just absolutely love them. Allen and Helen are such lovely, welcoming people, and keep an immaculate place. The facilities were more than you could ask for, (even down to tin foil in the cupboards). I just love coming up to the Black Isle, the views are stunning, and it’s so peaceful. We had some amazing weather too and could see for miles. (Was even graced with an RAF Typhoon from Lossiemouth going overhead one morning). Were already planning our next visit up (hopefully next year), and I cannot wait to call the Black Isle my home one day.

The property is in a beautiful location with great views and good walks in the forest behind the property.
The property has a well appointed kitchen and bathroom. We had been provided with milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which was appreciated. The basics of washing up/cleaning materials and some dish washing tablets and laundry tablets had also been provided.

What a lovely place we found it to be, nestled in a wonderful setting with wildlife (birds - pine marten -dolphins etc) all around yet enough close to Inverness for shopping etc.
The owners were very helpful and the lodge was comfortable, spacious and had everything we could have wanted or needed, a real little gem.

Pine Lodge was in a fabulous setting about 15 miles from Inverness.
The views were tremendous & if you wanted there were walks that could be done straight from the lodge. The lodge was very clean & comfortable. The hosts Alan & Helen were friendly & provided all the basic necessity's. It also had an electric car charger which was just what is needed when you have an electric car. We went from the lodge on a mini coach trip booked through Get-Your-Guide but with Rabbie's Tour Coach Trips, thoroughly to be recommended. Pine Lodge is somewhere to go again & if you want some peace & quiet with good scenery & access to many other lovely places you could not get a better place than Pine Lodge. It is one of the best places to stay, thoroughly it is recommended

The Lodge had everything we needed, and was clean and comfortable. The beds were really comfortable and warm, and there was plenty of storage and coat hangers in all the wardrobes. The sitting room had fantastic views and being able to sit and watch the birds on the feeder was wonderful. The Lodge was in a fantastic position for visiting the whole of the Highlands, we travelled to John o'Groats and the drive back along the east coast was stunning. We took a cruise on Loch Ness and a bus tour from Inverness over to the Isle of Skye. So many wonderful places to visit. Would definitely recommend this Lodge to anyone wanting to explore the Highlands.

Our 4th visit to Pine Lodge & as enjoyable as ever.
This property was excellent not only clean, comfortable and a pleasure to be in, but the owner had thought of everything, from tin openers that work, to coat hooks in rooms and the hall, it really was like being at home with all the appliances; not only that, it looked a delightful place when I saw it and I wasn't wrong, 12 out of 10 for this wonderful holiday lodge.
And that isn't including the peaceful and plesant surrounding area and the fabulous bird table.
The Lodge was clean, cosy and in a quiet location.
This suited us well to allow exploration of the surrounding area. We visited Tain, Nigg, Rogie Falls, Cromarty and Chanonry Point. There are good Forest walks immediately behind the Lodge worth the effort to explore .

We enjoyed the panoramic views from the lounge, the antics of the birds at the Feeding station & would recommend Pine Lodge as a good base for exploring the northern highlands. As before we were very comfortable there.

Everything we needed was provided & the owners were friendly and had good communication. Lodge was very clean and we loved watching the birds at the feeder. We were lucky with great weather and highly recommend this lodge.

I had a wonderful week's holiday at Pine Lodge - amazing views from the lounge windows and such an air of tranquility around the grounds.
I toured throughout the Northern Highlands and its ideally placed for reaching both east and west coasts (John O Groats took me about 2 1/2 hours). Will definitely go back and highly recommended!

The lodge has everything you need and feels very homely. Friendly and helpful owners who sorted out an issue with the router very quickly on arrival Our first view of the norther lights.
Lodge was beautifully clean and well equipped.
The hosts were extremely helpful and recommended both excellent local walks and lots of suggestions for days out. Couldn’t have hoped for a better base for our family highland holiday.

Lovely location.
Friendly neighbors. Great spot for the Highlands. Loch Ness down the road. Inverness, Culbokie & Dingwall just down the road for all your shopping needs. Need to do a bit of driving to appreciate some of the wonderful sites of the Highlands but well worth it.

Had booked to go last year but postponed because of Covid.
Clear instructions sent by Alan & Helen on key pick up and how to work appliances etc. Two well sized bedrooms with comfortable beds / clean white bed linen. Shower was also great as plenty of hot water and pressure good. Really quiet location and can recommend the Culbokie Inn for a meal as went there on our last night and was delicious. Well worth waiting the extra year and would highly recommend. Thanks
I think the Sykes cleaning requirements, especially for the owners, are excessive.
The virus is not passed by touching soft fabric, it hangs in the air. The cottage is in a lovely position, the owners are caring and welcoming, but the price for a week’s stay in what is pretty basic accommodation is too high, taking advantage no doubt of people needing to staycation. We have all had a tough time in this pandemic. Overcharging like this is cynical, I assume Sykes suggests the pricing. Sykes appears to look after it’s customers, but doesn’t seem to read the feedback, in my experience.

I was wanting a quiet holiday just after losing my wife, this place fitted the bill, good base for seeing sites of Scotland.
Fantastic setting surrounded by countryside.
Vast array of wildlife. Good central location but can only travel around by car. Roads not walking friendly! Lodge was perfect. Only one recommendation: Outside needs tidying up and a fresh coat of paint. For example the grass had been cut but loose cuttings everywhere which ended up in doors. No weeding had been done either. Outside bench needs replacing. Overall it just looked a but tired but in no way ruined our fabulous stay. Will definitely be back
The view and the peace and quiet are superb.
Just looking out of the windows at the landscape (and the bird feeder) is a great pleasure. Pine Lodge is very well-equipped and instructions for guests are well-presented and clear. The Lodge is well-positioned - it feels very private, and yet it’s very easy to get to some great places.
A very peaceful location of the edge of the forest - perfect for what we wanted.
Tea, coffee, washing up liquid, tea towels , fruit juice and milk all left for us in kitchen.

This chalet is in an idyllic location with amazing views.
It’s really peaceful and you can even hear yourself think!! There’s an abundance of wildlife right outside the door Inside there’s everything you could possibly need. The owners have obviously thought carefully about how to make the chalet somewhere you can be really comfortable and warm. It’s a great place to use as a base for exploring the surrounding area and you can easily travel down as far as Loch Ness if you want to leave the beautiful ‘Black Isle’ We loved it and recommend it highly.

Pine Lodge is in a very good location with wonderful views over mountains in the distance and a partial view of Cromarty Firth.
The Black Isle is in an interesting part of the country to explore as well as being a good base for day trips further up the North-east coast of Scotland, or to the East coast. The cottage was well equipped and peaceful with walks available in forests to the rear. Excellent beaches are within easy reach.
Pine Lodge is set in beautiful scenic Black Isle, and the views from the cottage were incredible come rain or shine.
It was a perfect place to relax or go on walks from. The owners also went above and beyond to make sure our stay was cozy and welcoming.

This is a lovely lodge in a spectacular place.
Secluded, but with views. The owners are on site and particularly helpful and friendly, without being obtrusive. We walked, kayaked and cycled for a week and could have continued for another week. There is so much to d here.The bird and sea life is quite special and worthy of attention; as are the woods close to the accommodation where you can see see deer, red squirrel and tree finches (not to mention the other varied bird life). The lodge abounds in guide books, information and maps relating to all sorts of activities in the vicinity - visiting Culloden, walking up Glen Affric, cycling to Cromarty and over to Nigg and any number of local walks. The lodge provides a perfect place to just chill out with beautiful views. Definitely somewhere one would want to return.

Pine Lodge is in a beautiful location with stunning views from the living room towards Ben Wyvis and across the Cromarty Firth.
The lodge is very well equipped and maintained and was spotlessly clean on arrival. The owners, Alan and Helen, were very friendly and extremely helpful. With easy access to beautiful countryside and interesting places, and with lots to see and do, we had a great holiday. Recommended things to do/places to see are, firstly, dolphins at Chanonry Point, then Rosemarkie (beach and fairy glen), Fortrose (café and cathedral), Munlochy (Black Isle Brewery and tour), Dingwall, Inverness, and Loch Ness (especially Dores). Taking all this into account, I would say this represents really good value for money and would recommend staying at Pine Lodge to anybody.
