We had a lovely relaxing week staying at Scarba.

The view from the property was just beautiful and we were visited by wild deer most mornings and rabbits roamed free all day which was so lovely. The decked path down to the sea front was a gem. I like wild swimming so it gave great access to the waters edge and was great for my dog to splash around in . Oban is around 30 mins drive away and is beautiful. It has everything you need from your supermarkets, chemists, coffee shops, souvenirs etc also the best seafood I have eaten from the green shack by the ferry terminal. The local shop was well stocked and very welcoming as was the pub by the bridge. You can walk to the shop but its about 20 mins away or a short drive in the car. The pub is a bit further and would require a car. The chalet is pretty remote but perfect if you want peace and quiet. It is a wooden chalet, not a cottage so facilities were fairly basic and i'd say it's more suited to a couple rather than a family of four as there isn't an awful lot of room. We used the spare room to store our clothes & coats etc. It was very ideal for us and our labrador. Thank you for the welcome treats and the spare dog towels were great as our dog loves a swim and we had a couple of rainy days. All the people we met on the island were really friendly and welcoming especially the lady in the shop and her dog called star. If you were into kayaking you could launch one from the wooden path outside the chalet. We found a couple of off road walks. There was a nice walk to the right of the pub which takes you down to a rugged sea front where otters have been spotted although we didn't see any. If you want a sandy beach then you have to go to ganavan Sands just outside oban. We visited the beach on a sunny day and it was stunning with shallow calm waters and powdery sand. There was a beach sauna there which opens at 1pm also toilet facilities. Thanks for a nice week

Loved the location and most things about Scarba.

Was told the washing machine was not working which was disappointing with no attempt to fix it whist we we there. The fridge door did not shut properly and I would say needs replacing. But other than that a lovely stay.

Beautiful surroundings this is a diamond that maybe needs a little polish .

Washing machine not working( not to much of issue for us as only there 2 nights) most of windows were dirty , hair in shower , blinds in bedroom not working, fridge box not defrosted was thick with ice (wife sorted that) , decking need bit of upgrade . This is not a moaning minnie review my wife and i use cottages every year in west or east of Scotland just a bit of constructive critisism . My wife and i loved the peaceful surrounds of the lodge and my dogs loved the safe spaces if highlighted issues were resolved we would definately return in the future for a longer stay ...
