“Would highly recommend this lodge to anyone.”

Weve been to the isle of mull 8 times so far, and stayed in various accommodations across the island. We will definitely return here again next time. Great location. Lovely owners/ staff. Seen lots of wildlife right on the doorstep.. Owners went above and beyond for us. Thanks again! We had an amazing stay, even with power cuts and the storm.

“I have rated our stay as 5 star on the basis of location on Mull which is ideal for exploring the Island and weather which was our good fortune this year.”

I fear the edge of the forest location would be a problem in normal midge conditions. The lodge is certainly very comfy and as described but compared to other self catering establishments a bit sparse on crockery meaning over reliance on the dishwasher - judging from the written comments many residents make full use of the hotel for meals which is indeed first class with great catering and staff. Inside the lodge was clean and tidy but outside we were in danger of being overgrown by brambles overnight! Non the less a lovely spot and a memorable holiday thank you

On the Isle of Mull, the picturesque village of Salen is halfway between the main ferry terminal of Craignure and the island's capital, Tobermory. Salen boasts two hotels, a coffee shop and hosts an agricultural show each summer. In and around Salen you can enjoy mountain biking, pony trekking, walking and bird watching. Salen is the ideal base for exploring this inner Hebridean island, whose highlights include the dramatic scenery of the Gribun rocks on the west coast, the delightful expanse of Calgary Bay and its beach and, of course, Tobermory, most recently used as the setting for the popular BBC children's series 'Balamory'.
