Really lovely location - you feel enveloped by nature with all the gorgeous trees and the pond in front of the cabin.

The sun rises over the hot tub each morning. Do note that as the hot tub water is changed for each new week/guest, the hot tub may not be hot enough to use on the first night. Easy access to a level lawn from where the car is parked on a slope, which was great for star gazing on a clear night. I don't have the best mobility but I managed just fine. There is one step to get up onto the deck of the cabin, then a little lip to get through the main double doors, and two steps to get into the hot tub. The shower is slightly lower than the bathroom floor. We saw lots of birds at the feeder - chaffinch, blue tits and great tits. We also saw a red squirrel a few times. The estate manager (Gordon)'s dogs are extremely lovely and friendly, and visited us several times during our stay. We only saw Gordon on the first night, though he did stop by another day while we were out to top up the wood and toilet paper after I texted him. You don't get any warning when he does come by though, which would have been appreciated. That said, our privacy never felt intruded upon, and we really enjoyed the seclusion of the cabin, as no other guests have any reason to come to the area. There are two other detached accommodations on the estate - the riverside lodge and the large house. Each seem quite private. The following issues did not bother me enough to detract from my lovely time, but I'm mentioning it here as it might affect other potential guests. The cabin is extremely close to a main road, so expect traffic noise. There is visible black and green mould on the wooden walls of the bathroom, which has no window and no vent. All the windows and doors are single glazed, and it was common to have condensation on the windows most mornings. The wall mounted electric heater which is close to the bed makes an extremely loud ticking noise (old style timer), but the other modern plug-in electric heater is quiet. The wood burning stove was not great - the air intake vent was jammed halfway and so the fire kept going out. It was extremely difficult to light the fire as a result, and we had to add fresh kindling alongside new logs when feeding the fire. The microwave has a convection oven, but it wasn't very good and we ended up just using the hob to fry stuff. The kitchen was otherwise well equipped. The water is very peaty and brown but we drank from the tap with no issues and no taste. Some bottled water was supplied as well, though we did not see any need to use it.

Found the property to comfortably and brilliant in its location.

Gordon was a absolute star and looked after us better then we could ask for. Also the bird feeding station just out side gave us endless pleasure.
