The Wheelhouse was every bit as war and comfortable as we expected and the location was superb.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would recommend the place to all who want a small but well-appointed place. with super views.

If looking for perfection then this is it.

Can’t fault anything. My second visit and didn’t want to leave this time either! I won’t give anymore away as everyone will want to use it and I won’t get booked!! You won’t be disappointed!

This place is as lovely as the other reviews have suggested, and so I haven't got much to add.

I must admit that when I first arrived I wondered if it was possibly a little tight on storage space, but actually it proved fine for me (there's plenty of space under the beds, and for food etc. the existing kitchen cupboards aren't tightly packed!). The hosts from the neighbouring croft are really helpful and friendly. I'll happily go back any time (and very much hope I will!).

Thoughtfully put together, clean, tidy, everything needed was there and more.

It is located in a stunning area, totally quiet. We had a wonderful welcome from the hosts, so everything was perfect!

A splendid and beautifully equipped cottage that is bigger than the photos make it look.

The view is simply amazing and changes hour to hour with the tide. Great wildlife watching from the cottage too!

A beautiful holiday home that is very well equipped, in a fantastic location and with very helpful owners.

Everything was perfect, the end of road location with sea loch view , the modern, well thought out accomodation and the kind welcome.

This is a gem of a wee cabin.

Its location is stunning, overlooking a tidal inlet. There are great windows to catch the light, the views and wildlife. A great deal of thought has gone in to the fittings in the cabin - everything works well. The 'welcome' touches are equally thoughtful - some basics to start the stay on the right foot include not just bread and milk but also gin and tonic. I also like the thought that has gone into providing eco-friendly soaps, cleaning materials and loo rolls.

If you like to stay in somewhere that is, immaculately Clean, warm and cozy (regardless of any Hebridean weather) and positioned beautifully to allow the mesmerising view of the rising and falling tides in the bay along with the multitude of wildlife visitors the Wheelhouse is the place for you.

Centrally positioned in the Island chain it allows for easy exploration whether you want to head North or South. Overall we’ve had a wonderful week despite the Very mixed weather always knowing that we were returning to our warm and cozy retreat. We look forward to our next stay, Thank You.

The Wheelhouse is probably the best of the holiday accommodation that I have rented over the past 20 years.

The property was comfortable with exceptional fixtures and fittings and located in a convenient and private position.

The location of the property was amazing beautiful views and peaceful setting.

You could do as much or as little as you wanted to do. There was so much to do on the Islands. The owners supplied a lot of information regarding the area and suggestions of what to do. Lots of fantastic white beaches to walk on. The cabin was extremely comfortable and so warm there was everything we needed. The only drawback was lack of storage for clothes which the owners are arranging to resolve for next season. We plan to go back for a much longer stay so this we be a benefit .

Spotlessly clean, well-equipped, beautiful location - would love to stay here again on a future visit.

A gorgeous place to stay for a week on the isle of Grimsay.

Sat between North Uist to the north and Benbecula to the south it was a sheer delight. The facilities provided to the two of us were first rate. The only 'fault' was the lack of access to somewhere to hang our - alas, much needed - waterproof clothes. But let us not put a damp on this, this was an excellent holiday in an excellent holiday cottage!

We loved our stay in this gorgeous property.

It immediately felt cosy and comfortable. Everything was spotless and the owners had made great use of the space, making it feel larger than it appears in the pictures. This was possibly the most relaxing place we have ever stayed and the scenery was amazing. We would love to return one day.

Small but beautifully formed is how I'd describe The Wheelhouse.

It's a lovely place to stay, and very well thought out. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope we can come back. So many of the little things which make a stay comfortable were provided, and the peace and quiet was superb and the surroundings were beautiful. The hosts were lovely people, very helpful and accommodating.

Its not easy to get a small space right, but Dorothy & Iain certainly have.

The cabin was perfectly appointed, high quality and in a beautiful, central location. We could not have asked for anything more. Dorothy & Iain are great hosts, being helpful and informative.

I didn’t want to leave. The location is superb: quiet, unspoilt and right beside a sea inlet. What more could you ask for? The hosts are just excellent and I’ve gained two new friends! Can’t wait to go back!

Excellent property which I would happily return too.

The bed was so incredibly comfy, loads of hot water and great pressure. The local walks were lovely particularly at sunset. I was lucky enough to be able to cross over the sand at low tide as a short cut. Loved the extra small touches of quality toiletries, monocular glasses, local maps and the welcome basket.
