Description

Bears Den rests in the attractive village of Addingham, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, offering a thoughtfully presented single-storey lodge ideal for couples or small groups seeking a peaceful escape.

Carefully styled throughout, the property provides a welcoming base to return to after exploring the surrounding countryside.

Outside, an enclosed decking area with garden furniture and a hot tub creates a relaxing spot for fresh air or evening unwinding.

Inside, the spacious living and dining area is well laid out for sociable stays, and the dining space is perfectly placed for leisurely meals, while the fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering simple, whether preparing light lunches or hearty dinners.

Two generously sized bedrooms offer comfort and privacy, comprising a super-king-size and a king-size, each with its own en-suite walk-in shower room.

Adding an extra touch of indulgence, the lodge includes a private sauna, ideal for relaxing after a day of walking or sightseeing.

Off-road parking is available, and the property is pet-friendly, allowing guests to bring dogs along to enjoy nearby trails.

Addingham itself offers local shops, cafés, and pubs within easy reach, while Bolton Abbey’s scenic riverside walks and historic ruins sit just a short drive away.

The spa town of Ilkley is close by, known for its moorland views, independent shops, and choice of eateries, as well as access to Ilkley Moor.

Further afield, Skipton provides a lively market town atmosphere, complete with its medieval castle and canal-side walks.

With the Yorkshire Dales on the doorstep, Bears Den makes an excellent base for enjoying village life, countryside walks, and some of Yorkshire’s most loved attractions.

What guests are saying

The Sykes brochure detailed the lodges at Olicana Park as new, they may have been new to Sykes but the lodges were approximately 8 years old.

A bit misleading. Consequently they were somewhat dated and in need of a refresh to the decking, etc. The kitchen area though functional lacked cupboard space as that which was provided was taken up by the utensils and other items provided, which were all of a good standard. Because of the dark green decor and the high vaulted ceilings in the main communal area , there was insufficient ambient lighting in this area. I could not say the lodge was worth the £1500 we paid for the week. The one saving grace was the fantastic views over the river Wharfe and the riverside walks.
