Granary Cottage

We have had the most peaceful and relaxing stay at Granary Cottage.

The cottage was beautifully finished and so comfortable. Peter was so quick to reply to any questions but gave us privacy which made us feel like the space was ours for our stay. The access to the pool was such a treat, especially in the heatwave! We spent most evenings eating dinner on the comfortable seating by the pool and we felt like we were abroad. The location is also perfect - a 10 minute stroll into the beautiful village of Lacock. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

A fabulous little cottage in an amazing location.

Perfect for walking to nearby lacock. The grounds were fabulous with a range of animals and the swimming pool are was brilliant. Peter the owner was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this idyllic place.

We had a fantastic time at the farm.

Due to the extreme weather the pool was incredibly welcome and refreshing. The whole pool area is lovely, providing a fridge and two very comfortable seating and eating areas within a spacious garden. The cottage offers everything that is required for cooking full meals and is very attractively furnished. Peter is available to assist with anything required. The setting is beautiful and relaxing. It’s great to see the animals and birds and to be with nature.

Granary Cottage is the nicest holiday cottage we have ever stayed at and we have visited quite a number.

It has been beautifully renovated, the decoration is tasteful and elegant and the cottage is absolutely spotless. No expense has been spared and it shows. The setting and the host are what sets it apart from other accommodation. Peter was both friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is set in beautiful grounds with geese, peacocks and ostriches wandering around, not something one gets to experience normally. A lovely bottle of English wine awaited us along with some essential provisions. Apart from bringing your own food, everything else is provided. It is only a short walk into Lacock where there are 2 lovely pubs and various independent shops and a post office. I cannot recommend Granary Cottage more highly, you will not be disappointed. We loved it so much that we revisited and have spent a total of 4 weeks there!

Excellent accommodation and well equipped.

Perfect location with lovely walks along the River Avon and around the Lacock village and National Trust property. One minor point, we would have liked a mirror over the bathroom basin.

Beautifully clean and comfortable accommodation, attractively decorated and with quality fittings.

Well located with walks from the door to Lacock village or Bowden hill. Enclosed within the owner's property so I felt safe being on my own. The only criticism - and I'm surprised at Sykes for not stipulating this - is that there was no information folder provided on things to do with the property like rubbish recycling and things to do with the location, like where to buy bread or fuel and nearest pharmacy and minor injuries unit. Providing a guest book too would enable people to leave recommendations about restaurants, places to visit etc.

The cottage is very cosy and everything you need is there.

Beautifully decorated and compact. Private gate access and parking was a bonus. The property a working farm had many animals around the area which is nice to see. The Owner greeted us on the last day, and his communication was very responsive by text messages if we needed anything. The village of Lacock is beautiful, we had a lovely meal at the George Inn and The sign of the Angel. We visited Lacock Abbey and had pictures taken at the filming locations of Harry Potter which was fun to see in person. A day trip to Bath which was a lovely day out. Clean and well presented . Comfortable beds and luxurious soft bedding . Good location , within easy walking distance to Lacock village . Friendly host . Nice touch being left milk and cookies .
