Pheasant

We spent a delightful week at the Pheasant .

It was a real pleasure staying in this cosy and comfortable cabin .it is situated in a pretty peaceful village and at the end of a beautiful beer garden of the black horse pub ,The hosts were particularly friendly ,helpful and welcoming and the pub serves an excellent variety of delicious food . The owners dog “Lenny” a real character who meets and greats all customers is so cute . It was a joy to have Dillon, Donald and Douglas 3 Alpacas come to be fed apples and carrots every day . It is in an ideal area for lots of places of interest to visit and we did but to be honest I was so happy and comfortable at the Pheasant I could have spent the whole week just there . The bed is the most comfortable I have ever known for a holiday accommodation and the little treats left for us were a lovely welcome . We hope to return sometime in the future .

Accommodation brilliant, loved the Alpacas in the next field.

Slight hiccup with the local pub due to chef issue. However owner kindly drove us to a local restaurant and collected us after we had finished.

Good, clean accommodation.

Lovely setting. In the grounds of the village pub but far enough away so you can’t hear or see anyone. Landlady/landlord are really nice and serve very nice food. We’ve stayed at The Pheasant 3 times now and will definitely be back.

A great week in lovely surroundings.

The Black Horse Pub was a bonus, Excellent Landlord and Landlady, good beer and excellent food served in the restaurant.

We had a lovely stay at pheasant lovely peaceful place enjoyed sitting outside listening to the birds watching alpacas and wildlife.

Our host's were wonderful enjoyed meal's in the blackhorse. We found the pheasant very clean nice comfortable bed facilities for the space good our only problem is the low chair's would have preferred something higher this is not a complaint just an opinion would definitely recommend it and would stay again

Amazing time.

Publican who owns the lodge was beyond helpful. Welcome pack bread butter jam biscuits teas coffee etc all available. Bed super comfortable. Really peaceful place if you want a chilled out time highly recommend That was our second stay and will go back

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the pheasant what an amazing place everything you could possibly need at the property with superb surroundings, so relaxing and the smiling alpacas to see every morning.

The pub is very welcoming with great food also Lenny the dog to keep you company. The owners are friendly and informative about the area. We cannot wait to return.

The place was in and excellent location with a short drive to Ripon, Thirsk, Bedale. The pub was very convenient and served some lovely meals.

Our second stay for a week at The Pheasant- just as good as the first.

It is such a lovely place to stay. We enjoyed eating in the pub a few times . Lovely friendly owners for whom nothing is too much trouble , and a very warm welcome from Lenny the dog . Highly recommended.

The property was absolutely stunning!

Such a lovely environment, the owners are the most loveliest people! It was amazing to see the alpacas. The lodge itself was absolutely beautiful, it was so cosey and had some lovely touches to it!

Excellent accommodation.

Very comfortable. Loved the alpacas in the next field. Owners very friendly and left a welcome pack which was useful as we had forgotten to take milk. The Black Horse inn run by the owners was a short stroll away and the main hub of the village. Good Home made food. The village was picture perfect around a green and the people all friendly. All in all great place to stay.

We really enjoyed our short stay, especially watching the alpacas in the adjacent field.

The only shortfall was no table inside for eating breakfast, etc. Weather permitting the table on the balcony was ideal but, sadly the weather let us down.

Loved everything about this place.

The location is beautiful and the attention to detail inside the cabin is outstanding. So many lovely touches and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food at the pub was great, top quality home made and delicious. We would definitely love to stay here again, everything was perfect.

there was a bad review on your sight about this place which isn’t right it’s about another pheasant in a different location.

.The pheasant in “KIRKLINGTON” is very nice and we had a very nice 4 nights there..plenty to do within an hour or less drive in all directions..The hosts are very nice people who run the local village pub which has a very nice atmosphere and nice people in there.. The Alpacas in the next field are very friendly and amusing also..All in All the place was spot on..we will be back

The property was exactly as expected.

Very clean. There was a welcome pack for us on arrival including bread, milk, eggs, jam and butter which was unexpected but very welcome. The property was in a good central area to get to places of interest. The downside was that there wasn't a shop in the village.

We spent a wonderful ten days in this beautiful log cabin.

It was comfortable and cosy , with a lovely interior - some Pheasant touches! Set in a private glade , with the company of 3 Alpacas in an adjacent paddock, we had a very tranquil and relaxing experience. The pub is excellent - a very welcoming place with excellent food. We would certainly return , and will recommend to family and friends .

The Cabin was lovely, Cheryl and David were very friendly and accommodating.

The pub was great, with delicious food and good drinks as well as a beautiful beer garden. Lots of stunning and interesting places to visit within a half hour drive. Perfect neighbours in Dylan, Douglas and Donald (the alpacas)!
