This single-storey, detached home is a romantic retreat to listen to music, read or watch a film, or to simply relax and enjoy the views of the castle or stroll around the Tudor gardens.
Couples or solo travellers can explore the extensive grounds and woodland area, enjoy a barbecue, and feel submerged in the history of the castle and the surrounding countryside landscape.

Stock up the fridge and use the microwave oven for something tasty to eat.

We had a lovely week in this cosy lodge.
It is very small and doesn't have a lounge area. However, the outdoor covered seating area is delightful, with a heater and coloured lights after dark. The only difficulty for us (both in our 70s) was that the bed is against the wall on three sides. This caused some problems when getting in and out of bed, especially during the night! The gardens are extensive and wonderful and we enjoyed watching the variety of birds coming to feed, including a woodpecker. The hooting of owls was a new experience for us. The owner, Sharon, was extremely helpful and friendly.
My partner and I, along with our Labrador, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Snape Castle Garden Lodge.
The setting is absolutely beautiful and tranquil, a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature, with an abundance of space for the dog to explore safely. The owner Sharon was a brilliant host and made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. The lodge is well located with a lovely easy walk into Snape village, the local pub had great food and a friendly atmosphere. It is also only a short drive to Bedale for shops, another great place to explore. We highly recommend visiting and we definitely plan on returning to this special place.

The lodge is small for a full week stay but has everything you need and is exactly as shown in the pictures. The outdoor space and gardens are amazing as is the village location. The local pub is friendly and welcoming and with good food. We loved sitting out during the day in the many different places in the garden just watching the birds and enjoying the view. At night we were treated to a family of tawny owls visiting us each evening and they were a delight to see. The main reason we chose this property was the outdoor space and it didn't disappoint. We did have an issue with the fridge not coping with the very warm weather but Sharon, the property owner sorted it immediately. Sharon was an amazing host, very friendly, lovely to talk to and always on hand to help with anything we needed.
