What guests are saying
2 Millers Island is quite a difficult property to review as it’s not perfect BUT I would rebook it again in the future.
A comfortable pleasant cabin with large deck and hot tub in a very peaceful part of the Stonerush Lakes park on the bottom millpond. Maintenance and cleanliness could certainly do with some focus as that would make the difference here between 4 and 5 stars. A very crudely repaired balcony screen (a simple fence panel would look a lot less offensive), non-working extractor fans in the bathrooms and some very strange stale smells in the cabin suggest it just needs a bit more attention to detail between guests (I have contacted Charteroak directly on these points) - my guess is that the owners are entrusting housekeeping to somebody else and maybe this needs attention. Also worth noting is that the egg chairs pictured in the listing simply don’t exist which is a pity. Overall however a good cabin worth recommending.
We had a very enjoyable stay at 2 Millers Island at the beginning of August.
The lodge was very spacious, clean, and very comfortable in the interior. The hot tub was excellent, cleaned every day, and perfect to relax during the cool early mornings and evenings. The outside furniture could be a bit more comfortable, but that's the only slight negative to sitting out on the deck and enjoying the peace and quiet as the geese and ducks.....and Henry the Heron quietly kept us amused! Perfect location if you like a bit of peace and quiet, but also ideally located to explore the lovely fishing towns of Cornwall, in particular Looe, Fowey and Polperro. Will definitely be returning :-)
Had a lovely break at 2 Millers Island lovely position looking over the lakes.
Very comfortable and clean. Unfortunately the walk in shower the cold water temperature was temperamental and the second bathroom the shower or the bath didn’t work at all. Reported these problems but nobody turned up while we were there. But it was a very enjoyable break and we have booked to back in September.
