What guests are saying
The hot tub wasn’t working very well, but other than that a really place.
As reported to the receptionist on departure despite being extremely pleased with the accommodation I was very shocked at the presence of the hot tub maintenance man just walking through a rear gate (wearing headphones) oblivious to us sitting/relaxing at 9.
15am the morning of our departure (paid until 10.00am) no communication, no knock or shout out to check ok got him to enter! He then left and a second man appeared at 9.45am helping himself again with no acknowledgment or communication around the rear of property again to look at hot tub! This was intrusive, rude and concerning with regards to basic safeguarding. It was a sad way to leave what had been a positive break away but left feeling uncomfortable to risk again if people literally just walk around without any attempt of checking it’s ok!
We had a lovely stay and the lodge is in a fabulous setting.
Unfortunately there were a few things that we were a little disappointed by : There was a lot of dog hair around each of the rooms. We have a dog so know it is dog friendly but it hadn’t been cleaned properly. Every corner had hair in it. There were a lot of cobwebs around too. The oven still had oven cleaner over the door and racks so we had to wash the oven before we could use it. There were no wine glasses as all, only Prosecco glasses - not a massive thing but just odd! The hot tub didn’t seem to work as you would expect. The jets pushed the water round in circles rather than make it bubble. We found two inner parts of the hot tub on the floor of the hot tub which someone must have either taken away or put back during their routine visit. It was a really lovely lodge and the beds were very comfortable, just these things could be easily sorted before people stay.
