Larchwood Lodge @ Manleigh Park

This property is very good, just as good as a holiday cottage.

Visited for a long weekend in Devon and only wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely little Lodge on a lovely kept site . Will definitely visit again .

The instructions on how to get to the site are incorrect and Goggle kept sending us to a different location, needs to be corrected.

The site map could do with moving to the front of the office where it would be easy to see or posted in the office window as Cabin no 4 is not on the sign posts. had to ring Sykes cottage's several time to find the Cabin. It took us 2 hours of calls. Having found the cottage we were extremely impressed with the standard of accommodation and would book there again.

We loved our week here in this delightful Lodge.

It was very peaceful and quiet and clean, WIFI was great, beds were great, it was well equipped and fantastic value. We had an issue at first (TBH I think it was easily sorted by myself!) Anyways Sykes were quick to respond and the staff on site were super friendly and extremely helpful.

It was well equipped with everything we needed. The owners and staff very friendly and welcoming! The only down side was the decked area which with taking very small yorkies, they could walk straight through the fencing so couldn’t just let them out on the decking, all so the collie could jump the gate! Just saying so if anyone is talking dogs with them it’s worth knowing about that. But a very pretty well maintained Park! Would stay there again…Thanks

We loved our Stay at larchwood lodge it is located in a beautiful valley and is very clean well equipped and well located for visiting all attractions in the area.

Property was exactly as listed and suited us very well.

My husband is a wheelchair user and had no problem getting, out and around the bungalow. The site is very steep, but between the property and the car park is level which worked well for us. The site staff were helpful and friendly.

A lovely little lodge to stay in which was extremely clean and very comfortable everything you need is provided including an including an iron and ironing board, dishwasher etc.

and there was a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival. Excellent parking available The laundrette was a little tricky to find as it’s a bit hidden away but very handy to have on site. It cost £4.50 for a 40 minute wash but the laundry detergent and conditioner is provided. The dryer cost £1 for 10 minutes, although you will need at least 20 minutes to dry your clothes The bar wasn’t open during our stage due to staff sickness. It’s extremely quiet and set within lovely surroundings on the top of the hill at Comar. It is a five minute drive into the village of Kumar and as it’s a very steep Hill, I wouldn’t say it’s walkable. We would happily stay at Manleigh Park again as it’s a hidden gem & great value for money.

The site is small and very peaceful, with the lodges placed for plenty of privacy. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. We were greeted with a little welcome pack and a spotlessly clean lodge. A slight problem was dealt with immediately. Thank you everyone.

Beautiful tranquil setting close to a field perfect for dog walking (off the road!

). Well equipped and very comfortable. The dog towel and refreshments were much appreciated! It could benefit from some clothes hooks on the back of the single bedroom door (as there is no hanging storage) but otherwise a really lovely place to stay.

Stayed in the lovely little bungalow, clean, modern, and fully equipped self-catering holiday home.

Completely dog friendly site with dog walking field (not secure). The bungalow is disabled person accessible with a ramp to the door, level hard flooring, and a walk-in shower. The bungalow also has its own disabled parking space approx 20/25 meters away. The site itself is set into a steep hill side overlooking the valley and town of Combe Martin, and you can see the sea at points around the site. There is a bar on site, but we did not use it. There are many places to eat locally but need to be driven to, and the site is ideally located to visit many attractions. We had great communication with the manager and staff, and everyone was friendly and helpful.

This was a lovely little lodge, equipped with everything we needed.

Very clean and comfortable. Only problem was with the details we were given. We arrived late, in the dark with just the name of the lodge. Only problem with that is the map outside reception only had numbers, no names. This was very frustrating and we spent sometime wandering around looking for our accommodation. We were rescued by the friendly warden. Thanks for a lovely few days.

From the photos it looked like a typical mass market holiday challet and we expected that it would be fine, clean and functional and perfectly adequate for a short break as a base to tour.

When we arrived the site strongly marketed it as a luxury holiday home for a disabled person. That changed our expectations and left us feeling utterly annoyed as it was basic, not that well maintained, pretty impracactical and not in any way luxury and not suitable for a person with a disability except that it was on one level. However, when I re read Sykes' property description on my return home, it was accurate and had only given 3 stars which was fair. It was very attractively set in a private dip in the wooded valley. We enjoyed sitting out in the evening, alhtough it was next to an unmaintained area of weeds and deteriorating decking and damaged steps up to the lodge. The beds were comfortable and the bedding clean and fresh, the fabrics were nice in the unit and it was nice to be able to order food if we wanted it. Other than that it was not great. The kitchen provision was very basic and minimal, with a low powered microwave, cracked ceramic hob, feeble extractor and all quite cramped, especially the dining room table. The toilet was not pleasant being directly off the living room and facing the door and the floor got dirtly easily and was not cleanable. There were insufficinet surfaces to put toiletries on or have contact lens or toothbrushing facilities on hand, few places for 3 people to hang wet towels and the fittings were a bit rusty. There was one bin and no provision for recycling in the cabin. We only found out that there was recycling as we were leaving by which point it was too late. The guest information was not that usefull it was more of a marketing pack for luxury accommodation. It would have been helpful to have a sweeping brush to get rid of the sand inevitably picked up from being on the beach. My daughter got a splinter from playing in the playground as child friendly bark had not been used and the windows of a cabin running along the path opened out onto the path a head height of my daughter and a risk for passers by to walk into. My husband mislaid his keys and asked reception to lock the cabin for us whilst we were away that day. They said they would but forgot and it was unlocked when we returned at the end of the day. We also did not have hot water one of the days. It was definatley not quality - basic equipment, small TV's, cheap fittings, neglected bathroom, no wi-fi except a the bar etc and not for a disabled person who having wheeled themselves in would have to navigate oddly shaped carpet edges then would not be able to reach the pegs to hang their coat, no seating to use the shower and good luck with the WC! - not the welcome I would want if I were a wheelchair user. These comments are only applicable to the owner though as Sykes do not say that it is luxury and do not say it is for a disabled person.

Property is excellent.

Clean and very comfortable. It was perfect for the few days we stayed. Loved that it was ‘accessible’ and well laid out. There was a little welcome box which was is a nice touch. Site was very quiet and obviously well maintained. Allocated car parking is clear and useful. Not stayed in Combe Martin before. Quiet area but not really much in walking distance for us non hiker types. Tried three different pubs, all pleasant. But enjoyed ‘The Castle’ most. It felt like a proper pub. Overall, I’d stay again and would recommend.

Immaculately presented, everything I needed.

Only downside was the shower. It was very difficult to set it at a comfortable temperature and even then the temperature would at times fluctuate between too hot and too cold. The lodge could really do with an electric power shower.

I actually stayed in Willow as it was nearer my car.

Everything about the site was good - an excellent dog walking field which I used twice a day, annd wonderful primroses and wild violets growing in the banks. A lovely sign of spring. All the staff were friendly and very helpful and accommodating. The lodge was perfect for my needs - well equipped, warm and comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

the property is a bit dark needed the lights on a lot. lack of wardrobe space in the single room.

This property was as discribed everything you could want for your holiday.

My wife is disabled and can barely walk or stand and in the bathroom it had lots of room to push her into the bathroom in her wheelchair but there was nowhere to put your soap or flannel, shampoo etc, it needs some shelves fitting. the other thing was the springs have gone in the mattress everytime you turned over the springs went bong. It did not put us off getting a good nights sleep it was still comfy. Overall great Holiday.

We had a wonderful week at Larchwood Lodge, it was immaculately presented and clean when we arrived and was in such a perfect location.

We would definately recommend it and we will be back!
