What guests are saying
Dear 12 Meadows Retreat Team, We had a lovely stay at 12 Meadows Retreat and really enjoyed our time there.
It was particularly nice to stay somewhere that has clearly been designed with couples in mind. The lodge was perfect for getting away from normal life and spending some quality time together. The lodge was also exceptionally clean and well presented when we arrived, which made the whole stay feel even more comfortable and relaxing. Everything felt fresh, tidy and well cared for. We used the cinema room much more than we expected to, and it was fantastic for switching off and enjoying some time together without the usual distractions. The bath was also huge and a real highlight! We especially loved having breakfast out on the decking while listening to the ducks. The pond area is a great feature as it helps divide up the lodges and gives each one a lovely sense of privacy. There were just a couple of small things that could perhaps be improved. The wine cooler wasn't working, although we managed to use the fridge instead. We also found there weren't quite enough cutlery and plates to comfortably load the dishwasher, so we ended up washing some things by hand. It would also be useful to have the QR code in the hallway available to scan, as we didn't have one during our stay and it would have been helpful for finding out more information about the lodge and facilities. It may be worth putting one up for future guests. Overall, though, we had an excellent stay and absolutely loved the lodge. It really is a wonderful place for couples to relax, reconnect and enjoy some quality time together. We would definitely come back and would happily recommend 12 Meadows Retreat to others. Thank you for a lovely stay
Lovely lodge with all the facilities available to make your stay enjoyable.
A few ideas to make the most of the lodge better: A selection of DVDs would have been welcome in the cinema room. Fridge not big enough to self cater. Insufficient cutlery…. 4 of each item (knives, forks and spoons), not really user friendly. Overall it was an excellent stay and highly recommended
Firstly, well done to Sally, your forward communication and commitment to your customers is brilliant!
We have had multiple holidays at the Southern Halt site (and Stonerush Lakes) over the years; this was a very good experience. What a lovely lodge, and surprisingly in very good condition (it’s one of the original lodges)… NB. I would replace the crockery, and provide coasters for mugs/glasses. Easy fix. Well done, top marks regardless…

Please note that the ponds and surrounding reed beds form an important natural habitat for local wildlife. During the bird nesting season, typically between March and September, the reeds may appear more established than shown in some website photographs. In line with the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, vegetation management may be restricted during this period to help protect nesting birds and other wildlife. We appreciate your understanding as we work to preserve the natural environment and biodiversity of the site for both wildlife and guests to enjoy.
