What guests are saying
Just got back from a week at Black Dog Lodge.
All I can say is WOW! Super clean when we arrived. Beautifully presented and was like a proper home away from home. Fantastic location on our favourite site so handy for Windermere Ambleside Bowness and Grasmere. Our little pug loved it. Gorgeous comfy beds and two really nice bathrooms (one en suite). Kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Bedrooms were fitted really well too. Hot tub was a firm favourite. Site is very quiet and the on site pub is great. We will 100% be booking this lodge again. Immaculate and comfy in equal measures. Thanks for an amazingly chilled week - hopefully be back soon!
Beautiful lodge, clean and cosy, quiet site, very peaceful.
Amazing views all around and not to far from the little villages Friendly and helpful staff Quick response from owners, Will definitely be booking again
On first impressions lovely Lodge, great location within the park(this is our 3rd time at this Lodge but has since been taken over from our last visit), everything you need within the Lodge itself but cleanliness was a big issue.
Lots of dog hair/debris in corners of all rooms, especially round the radiator pipes, window sills not been cleaned, lots of debris/dead flies behind the sofa, dining room chairs covered in black dog hairs and all stained and dirty, few hairs in fridge which is a big no-no!, black dog hairs on all cushions on the sofas( the lighter cushions also very stained), few dog hairs also found in the double bedding, round the shower screen tray on the outside very dirty with hairs within, one of the single mattresses could do with replacing, went to sit outside one of the days when the sun was shining but found the cream cushions for the chairs covered in black dog hairs, luckily enough the grey cushions for the outside sofa seemed to be not too bad. I feel for the money paid to stay the cleanliness was a big issue for me. Overall the location of the park is central to Ambleside/Windermere with everything on your doorstep.
