What guests are saying
Dons lodge was very clean.
There was 4 adults staying and we slept in the single bedroom. Which was fine but we felt that the floor felt abit bouncy near the actual door in the bathroom. Also when we sat on the settee it made a creeping noise and I was worried that it was going to break. They didn’t but it just made a creeping sound when more than one sat on them. Especially the grey one in front of the fire. We stayed in the first night and played scrabble and had lots of fun playing that. We did lots of walking and walked into bowness which took us an hour along the main road. After that we got the buses both ways into Ambleside and then bowness again. Which was great because 2 of us was able to use our bus passes. Overall we had a very enjoyable time in dons lodge. But just wanted to make you aware of the bouncy bathroom floor outside the single bed bedroom and the creaking grey settee.
We were truly impressed with Don's Lodge, the owner and cleaning team need to be congratulated on the attention to detail.
The Lodge was modern clean and cosy and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We have had many stays in the Lakes over the years and this Lodge is in our top 3. This is a note for the owner, that the floors in both bathrooms was compromised and felt like it could give way when stepped on but there was no smell of any damp.
Just returned from 4 nights stay at Don’s lodge, which was immaculate, with everything you may need during your stay.
Spacious for four adults with two bathrooms. Outdoor seating area in a tranquil location. Highly recommend
